Hello,
I`ve experience some problem after update my desire x to android 4.1.1. Everything use to work fine but my battery drain so fast. With the previus version of android 4.0.5 my battery last 2-3 days on normal usage. With JB update my battery go from 100% to 10% for no more than 8 hours. What should I do to last at least a day.

Did you factory reseted your phone after update? Since this should be first thing done after any major OS update on any device, then bugs should be reported...

May look stupid but how to make a factory reset. Is it from settings/ backup&reset/reset phone or have to do something else ?

Settings> storage>scroll down to bottom factory reset
now was that so hard to find????
What he ^ said, or via recovery, but I think that wouldnt be pleasant option for you, remember to backup all you can since you will loose all the data.
If you don't want to do factory reset, you can uninstall one by one apps that shouldn't be full compatible with JB (battery monitors, schedulers, so on).
JB don't drain battery!
i dont think that its rom version related...
i didnt experience something like that....try using setcpu programms and task managers to reduce ram and cpu usage...
and use a battery calibration from market
Consider uninstalling antivirus apps, Live wallpapers and all other apps that are constantly running and Sap battery

From what I've heard, it's usually improved - BUT some power management bugs that affected stock Gingerbread kernels but were fixed in all custom kernels are still present in ICS, such as the good old fuel_alerted wakelock - so while it's better when working well, it's more prone to breaking.
I'm happy if my battery lasts for a day as i'm always messing with it(one of these days I might use it to make a phone call)! Have you tried putting it on charge at bedtime? I find that helps a lot.

I would try to avoid over-charging it, it's not good for any battery. Once it hits 100% (so long as it's correctly calibrated) unplug and use as normal.

same here i upgraded to ICS xxlpq and have been using it for 3 days, im struggling to get a day out of it ... its exactly the same setup as when i ran XEU (KI4) 2.3.4 unbranded UK. I noticed ram usage has increased as well as the amount of system processes. both times I rooted and removed bloatware. when my contract runs out in 6 months I will be looking at either a pure asop phone or an iphone 5, The galaxy s2 has a great screen but the batterylife if weak no matter what custom rom and custom kernal is running. Also I can get a wifi signal in my bedroom with my laptop and my old iphone 3gs but nothing with the s2.
Also please can anyone advise what the best pure and minimilistic asop rom will be for the galaxy s2 ive read cm9 mite be soon but is there anything thats great for battery life ? ...... thanks for you time in advance :=)

did u manage to fix the problem is "exchange something that can be removed ?
Upgrading to custom ICS roms is usually a great way to enhance your battery life, because they're always containing tweaks and optimizations!
This worked for me
Device: GT-I9100 (Samsung Galaxy S2 international)
Carrier: Smartone
Country / Language: Hong Kong
OS / Browser / build number (if applicable): ICS 4.0.3/IML74K.ZSLPE
I can confirm that I have resolved the battery drain issue after upgrading to ICS on my device. The problem was partial wake locks caused by the exchange service.
One of these measures fixed the problem for me (it might have been any of these, although I have a strong suspicion that the factory reset is the only relevant one):
- factory reset of phone; didn't restore the settings and accounts, but set them up manually
- wiped cache
- did not reinstall ADW launcher
Hope that helps.
The good news is that now the battery life is definitely better than it was on Gingerbread.

This isn't really true. Once it hits 100% it pretty much runs off the charger.
By depleting it all the time you are ruining the battery that way

Leaving your phone on charge longer than is absolutely necessary ie taking it off charge as soon as it gets to 100% will not affect your battery life and there is also no need to manually calibrate the battery. I installed DXLP7 and was getting poor battery life due to a wakelock, I found and dealt with the cause and immediately battery life improved. In my experience battery life on ICS is as good as it was in gingerbread. Better battery stats is your friend.

I had upgraded my sgs2 to ics yesterday. The new version is draining the battery very seriously. In the previous version, my sgs2 could last for about 12 hours from a fully charged state. But now the version can only last for 6 hours, which is really unacceptable.
Is deep sleep? You can check with CPU-Spy. If not, remove the battery a few minutes and then returned.

I had huge battery drain issues from exchange and email waking the device and constantly doing something. Removed the accounts and then set them up again. Like night and day now, better than gb. On LP7 and never wiped.

Keep a look with BetterBatteryStats, and see if there are any apps messing up.
I have better batterylife with ICS by a margin.
And about leaving the charger on during night, these are kind of myths really, you can keep it on without any worries, and also charge it without being totally drained.
Most of these thoughts come from the old Ni-Cd times with memory effect.
I had removed the Exchange Account yesterday and the battery drain problem disappeared. The account was added back after about 10 hours. The battery usage is now back to normal (a little bit better than the situation before the ics upgarde). Thanks for your hint.
Cheers.
SG S2 ICS Battery drain issue
Had upgraded to ICS when it launched in India and literally went berserk due to the battery drain issue. Googled and googled, found a lot of things, tried most of them (except for changing ROMs).
Then, Voila, last 4 days - a complete twist to my sorry tale. I first disabled the phone backup option (to Google), did a factory reset, said No to most of the options that are asked on restart, and didnt install the earlier applications from the Play store en masse (earlier, had a number of games and other 'what I thought was useful' apps). Now, only have the basic apps plus Poweramp, Shazam and NQ Mobile added. And the result - the battery is back to normal. Phew....big relief as I use the phone pretty much for mails, music, phone.
I want yo add some thing very annoying, I discovered today after upgrading to Resurrection ROM.
In fact, even with the device connected to my car power supply and using Copilot for about 1 hour, the battery continued it's discharge instead of charging.
So what to say and what to do?
Cheers

first of all it should be spelled "serious"
and now if you are coming from a different OS like symbian or ios then here is the hard truth all android phones pretty much have comparatively(to symbian) low battery....
and give it some time,a few battery cycles will improve battery life...
ps:i am on stock 4.0.3 rom my s2 only lasts 1.5 days max only if i don't play games.....

TouchWiz gives high battery drain compared to custom ROM's, probably due to the bloatware.
I will never use TouchWiz on an android/galaxy phone, I will always use custom ROMS

Incorrect.
ONE complete battery cycle will re calibrate the fuel gauge chip. Once when i cycled my battery it stuck on 1% for over 4 hours. It does NOT give you longer battery life, rather it re calibrates the battery indicator.
OP if you want better battery life try this:
Use a custom rom, or a frankenrom if you like the stock feel, or a rom modded for better battery life
Look into what services are running and remove the ones that are running when not expected
remove the facebook app,
use less widgets (since they use more battery),
choose a darker background (AMOLED screens use the most power for white),
turn down the brightness,
have GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth off when not needed,
turn off auto updates,
anything that automatically checks for stuff, turn that off or increase the delay,
Use a kernel that supports under-volting and under-clocking. You have a powerful phone which rarely needs to use all the power. Under-volting and under-clocking can help you get even several hours longer out of your device without a noticeable impact
Turn off those damn task killers. Its more efficient to not have a task running than to close it every 5 minutes and have it auto start up again. task killers were great for android 1.3, not so great for 4.0
In my class there is one other guy with an S2 and every day i hear his battery beep at him that its dying. I can go about 2 days of similar usage with no battery problems. Why? Because i spent time and effort to learn why my battery was draining and how to make my device run as smooth as i can.
TLR Do some research. If you want everything given to you buy an iPhone.

Hello guys,
I have battery problem and don't know what to do anymore and need help from the ones who can really help and have ideas..
I had SGS2 and I bought two month ago SGS3 and my battery was abs superb untill I installed LH1 android 4.0.4 from that point
everything is going worser and worser..I were thinking if I put dli1 and JB everything is going to be a lot better but problems are even bigger now.
In 2h normal using of phone, battery drains around 30% (normal using 10 pages of surfing, checking emails and that's it)
I know from the sgs2 days how to lower down battery but nothing is helping in sgs3 case..
- Things I have to mentioned is that when I installed new dli1 I did install new firmaware jb and did factory reset, dalvik , cache, wipe
- I have only 10 installed apps
- I don't have running apps on behind, dont user gps, not using sync at all , shutting down my wifi all the time, same for gprs,
I edited wifi settings etc etc etc
- Used watchdog to monitor the aps nothing crucial...
- (Can't do copy paste on DLI1) so battery is really minimal using apps but screen is on 56% (brightness is 100%)
- Have additional battery and there was same problem with android 4.0.4 (didnt test with JB,will do)
- I tried to empty the battery to the zero but nothin...
Few people from Faraby post are also complaining about same thing with battery but most of them said they have only problem with DLI1
not before ..
Only thing which is crossing my mind to try to reset everything and tried with today's leak and hope ...
If someone has ideas I would be (bow)
Leak as in not a Samsung release binned test firmware .
Replace with clean stock ICS and test .

Did you try wiping your S3 With factory reset and flashing another stock Rom from recovery?

My battery life actually improved with this modem.
Compared to stock
So recently I updated my Xperia P to jelly bean using this OTA root keeper method found in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2256889
And for the most part, everything has worked well.
Except I noticed some battery issues.
The battery lost nearly 30% overnight. I had stamina mode enabled so mobile data was turned off.
It seems that the issue is in the phone app. No calls were made for the past day or so.
And furthermore, this was not an issue on ICS. Overnight battery usage was generally 2-6 % with wifi on.
Can you guys help me with this issue?

Same problem here, very similar behavior. I updated flashing a generic ICS image, because the update wasn't avbaible for my SI number at the time. But other than that, I didn't do anything, not even root. Curiosly, this is been happening for the past 2 days, a week after I updated to jelly bean.
Very odd... I rebooted and it did not seem to help. But force closing the phone app did the trick, halting extreme battery drain. But that's not a solution, obviously. I'm thinking of doing a factory reset.
Also, the app is very laggy. Is that an issue for you too?
Same thing has been happening with xperia go JB update.
Could this possibly be a bug?
tried to recalibrate my battery not seeing much difference.

I'm not sure that a factory reset would be the solution, but I suppose it's worth a try. But the idea of losing everything, including root, is very appealing... I mean, I'd probably do it only as last resort.
But, I was able to narrow down the problem. BetterBatteryStats says that the issue is that there's a partial wakelock caused by RILJ, which apparently extends from the phone app. And it prevents the phone from entering deep sleep, which is the cause of battery drain. As to how to fix it, I have no clue. I looked around for a solution but it seems to be all over the place, with some reported successes and many failures. So I have no idea.
No factory reset will fix that. I flashed everything, wiped everything, my phone's practically a brand new unrooted, unlockable JB with the exact same problem with battery life as you guys.
Stock and locked xGO beans.

Hello,
after update to EMUI 10.1 my battery is discharging at least 2 times faster than before.
The usage of the phone is same, same apps as before. Do I need to hard reset phone? Anyone with the same problem?

It needs time to settle, give it a few days, mine was like that now it's the same as 10.0
Mine is the same, maybe even a little bit better.
Did you check battery usage? Maybe some app is draining the battery.
Its same for me too ... Just wipe cache partition and uou will be fine
