Hi Guys,
I've been flashing a custom rom (GB) for test purpose, and after a flash my phone got hanging during boot at sony ericsson.
I then tried to flash stock .42 ftf, no luck, then stock .62 ftf, same, afterwards update with sony update service to latest fw, without any luck.
then tried once to update it with pc companion, but still hanging at sony logo.
Any ideas how could I recover my phone?
Thank you!
sorry, I've just realized I should have been posting this thread in the Q&A section, I was in hurry ....
would a moderator move it to the right section?
thanks!
u have a locked bootloader????
Yes, I do!
i think the only way is now to try a custom rom! u have tried so many things! jyst give it a try!
:good:
all i need is a thanks! plz press
if you'd read my first post you'd have seen that I started with flashing custom rom.
unfortunately I don't have what to thank for !
would a moderator please delete this topic, I found an older one discussing the same, so this one is useless.
sorry!

Whilst your concerns are valid, you have posted this thread in the wrong forum. This doesn't belong in the dev forums, it belongs in the the Question and Answer forums here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1152
P.S. xRecovery is pretty much redundant now for roms higher than Android 2.1 eclair, as ClockWordMod (CWM) Recovery is what everyone uses. There is a .zip you can flash in xRecovery which upgrades the recovery to CWM recovery which will be the recovery you need to install mini cm7, (however if what you say is true, that the moment you turn your phone on and repeatedly press back it doesn't enter xRecovery, then you will need to use Sony Ericsson Update Service or PC Companion or the Sony Ericsson website software page to repair your phone, then you will need to root your phone again and install xRecovery) ; here is that .zip that upgrades your xRecovery to CWM recovery: View attachment CWM3_for_xReC.zip Good luck

do it? you will loose your data but... your phone should work again.
I think you anyway need custom kernel for that rom..
you can try fix with seus or you can find the stock rom and flash via flashtool

ok.. i fixed on my x10mini pro with stock rom flas via flash tool
but if you will again flash some custom rom.. don't touch kernel if you didn't unlock bootloader
you can try later flash some custom rom that doesn't need custom kernel

i don't know.. i never use that program.. but I think that program is userfrinedly and you will find the way.. if not look for help again.. maybe someone will answer.
do you use x10 mini pro od x10 mini
SEUS ist the Sony Ericsson update stuff of course you can use flashtool, but for somekind of "global reset" i recommend using SEUS.

Good afternoon, I am new in this theme and would like to ask a couple of things that I have not found an answer here in the forum. I have a Xperia Ray St18a, he came with Android 2.3.3 and I upgrade to 2.3.4 (4.0.2.A.0.62)(via OTA). Now I have the bootloader unlocked, I'm root and I have the CWR installed and I want to install the ROM RayOniumICS.v7 S Revolution, in the post the "Chef" recommended to install the official ICS ROM first but I do not understand how or which ROM install first. I've never flashed any other ROM in this Phone. I hope you understand me (my English sucks) and can help me. Thank you very much.:good:

Thanks for responding,:good: I'll try to do what you say. You'll understand that I can not ask in the original thread of the ROM due my novice condition, for that reason I have to ask here. Which of these tft Stock Firmware you recommend for my St18a? and If I install the RayOniumICS ROM could I lose my 3G frequencies? ( I have a Xperia Ray St18a and no St18i like the devs and the others) Thank you again.

Try this to get ICS for st18a
Try editing your build.prop file. Look in /system/build.prop.
Open it with RootExplorer and edit
See attached picture, change the numbers that are in the red box (will be different on you build.prop) to this 1252-5344
Save and exit for every file you modded.
Reboot your phone. Turn off and use SEUS.
If this doesn't (with that number) try asking in the general section for the cda number of an st18a user who has got android 4.0.4 update.
If it does work, then now you have ICS official update.
Now you need to flash a kernel that is pre-rooted and has cwm, which you will have to unlock your bootloader to do.
Then you can flash whatever rom you want to.
Cheers,
Evil.
OK, thank you very much for asking in the original post, I will be tuned to the thread, and I'll try later to do what you say. Thanks for your help and answers.

My friend, If I flash that official ICS ROM (going to flash 4.0.4 - 4.1.B.0.431 (North America)) could I lose the Root and the Unlocked Bootloader?

You will loose root but you wont loose your unlocked bootloader. To get root back once you have flashed stock 4.0.4, flash a custom kernel, which should be pre-rooted and have cwm installed. Boot to cwm and flash the custom rom you want.
Cheers,
Evil.
Hello My friend, I keep in my process of installing ICS 4.0.4, I'm in 4.0.4 - 4.1.B.0.431 (North America), I lost the root and I do not know how and wich prerooted Kernel install. I'm going to flash this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516508 means I have to flash one of those 2 kernerls? (SIRKAY or Air v2 (initd, touch recovery)) How I can Root Again and how can i install the CWR? Thank you very much for the help.
Ok guys i will try to explain myself the best i can.
I have an xperia mini pro sk17i so i was on 0.62 after i decided to test some rooms ect, so i opened the bootloader with the sony webpage and rooted my rom. I also installed another kernell.
But now i want to get back to my original 0.62 stock rom. I flashed a version of 0.42 and rooted it, and when i tried to upgrade from the mobile system to 0.62 it says that it cant be done. Also i tried to install xparts in order to get cmw recovery and all the time it says force close it cant be installed.
What can i do? Thanks a lot.
you cant update from phone cause u have unlocked bootloader
So how can i get, original one? And why i cannot install clockwork recovery?
wrong section.. please give question on Q/A general section..
Edit: let me answer too.. if you unlock bootloader you cant update from sony.. like PCC or OTA or SUS.. only one way.. is flashtool.. just download your ftf (ROM) and flash it offline..
thank you..
Hi all, thanks and sorry if I am too noob. I am looking for solution for 2 hours and I cant find, maybe anyone can help me
I have Sola MT27i and I was trying to update to ICS and root my Xperia Sola for hours. I updated with Sony Companion and then I found the thread for root with Flashtool mode (flash to 6.1.1.B.1.10 with Flashtool, root using Bin4ry's method, then flash to 6.1.1.B.1.54), then I instaled CWM and I was trying now install a rom. It seems easy, and I did it last summer in my Geeksphone, but after various errors installing roms copied in externalSD as "installation aborted. Status: 7" I did the step 4 of this tutorial (enter in mounts and format system)and my Sola now only show SONY!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960590
"IF COMING FROM SOME OTHER ROM, make factory wipe then go into mounts/storage and format system (not needed if updating AOKP)"
I have tried all I find and I cant restore. I cant enter in CWM, I am flashing with MT27i_relock_bootloader.ftf and Flashtool and phone only show SONY after flash...
Please help

Dude ! The ftf's in the first link are only the kernel. You just installed a CM9 ROM over a stock kernel, which would explain why it had bootloop ( in your case stuck at Sony ).
Did you flash the CWM in the ROM ( the boot.img in the zip ) or one of the others on the forum? Because those are built on Stock kernel, and this uses CM9 kernel, causing bootloops ( This is just me trying to zero in on the issue )
Solution:
Since that 1st thread had only kernel, the files were ~10Mb. The actual ftf is much larger, around 300 Mb or so, as it contains all files.
Flash one of the other 2 links' ftf's via flashtool and you should be fine.
