hey guys,
i'm using mysensedx3.0 with transparent rosie.. but I want to use something different now. So i came to ask what rom i should choose
with what rom do you have the most fun or would you highly recommend for my htc dx. i really would like to have a very very customizable sense rom. if that is on here.
and i really like the full sense. in my opinion it looks way better then sense lite

You can't request the best ROM. But there are two full sense roms: mySense and sense revolution.

Hi guys
I just flashed Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 onto my MyTouch 4G.
I am wondering how I can get back Sense UI. I really liked the clock with the weather (the animations get me)!
Notes: Fancy Widgets and Beautiful Widgets do not provide the animations which I like.
Could anyone possibly provide an apk for the actual Sense UI? Or is it plainly impossible as long as I'm using Cyanogenmod?
Please reply soon. Thank you.
Fancy Widgets does have animations and you would need to flash a sense rom.

Impossible, if you want sense UI you gotta use a sense based ROM, a lot of sense features are in the framework.

Sounds like you just really love Sense. Why not just go back to Sense? Unless you like the quickness and battery life of CM7.
I think if you like the sense ui your best bet is Virtuous fusion to me this is most def the best rom for our phone right now...
Update: virtuous unity is the best one out now

Paid fancy widget does have the animation.
Yes fancy widgets does have animations but its not the same as sense but its reasonable i still say go with virtuous fusion

I get very great battery life on Virtuous Fusion v1.1.8 using included kernel. I don't use set CPU or anything like that.

I switched to Cyanogenmod to try and take advantage of the unthrottling mod. It remains to be seen whether I will be able to avoid throttling or not.

Checked its features and changelogs and it seems like its not quite finished yet..
Thanks all for the responses, I think I will stick with Fancy Widgets and CM7 for now.
I know we just got root but I don't like sense much.
Just wondering.... It would be nice to flash something without sense... Who is going to be the 1st to put together some AOSP goodness?

It's coming my friend, it's coming.
Appreciate my help? Thank me
Check out SupraROM. Its not totally AOSP though. But it is a healthy mix of good Sense 3.0 elements and some aosp elements like icons and taskbar to name just some of the modifications.
Ok both ROMS look pretty much the same , but can anyone point out the differences to me (besides camera)? Or is it just the same ROM done by two different developers?
The De-Sensed-ish 3.5 rom has been de-sensed further and has more of the HTC theme removed.

Wow I didn't think it could get anymore de-sensed than Sensless.
I actually have the same question... I'm on de-sensed-ish right now and it works great but I do have a few issues.
Basically I want the best working closest to stock ICS rom out there!

The De-Sensed-ish 3.5 rom has been de-sensed further
by removing htc music app (beats) and htc camera etc.
so it depends on what you want on your rom for music and camera.
I am probably about to upgrade to an Evo LTE.
I would like to know if there is a ROM that is as close as possible to AOSP (cm10 preferred) but which has the stock camera.
Is it possible to have a rom with minimal sense framework but which includes sense camera ?
Still torn between Evo and galaxy s3....
Thanks!

Nice sense ROM with an aosp feel/theme

I have only every seen a handful of hybrid roms and they are difficult to maintain from my experience with them, the closest you will get is if someone can import the libs and somehow get it working that way but things like image sense are proprietary and it takes a lot of work to reverse stuff like that. Try one of the bloat removing scripts, I don't remember the name but one removes rosie and replaces it with a ics/jb based launcher so you aren't just running a launcher on top of rosie
If you install the new Viper 2.0 ROM you can choose to install it "Senseless" which gives largely the look of CM10, but you'll still have the Sense Camera

Good to know, I have yet to try viper. Seems just like that wipe script I saw a few months back. Aroma has a lot of customization built in.

RacerOfAll has a sick AOSP theme because he hates Sense but wants to keep using Sense features like the camera.
His Viper4G 1.0 theme is awesome, but now Viper is on 2.0 and the theme hasn't been updated, yet, so for the now I've manually pulled some of his apk's from the theme, manually replaced other apk's with AOSP versions and am using an HTC ICS skin and a 3rd party ICS launcher.
Basically, there's lots of stuff you can do to Sense ROMS to make them appear near-identical to AOSP while keeping Sense under the hood.

That sounds excellent!
Is this something you're going to release eventually?
(BTW, I got the Evo)

Awesome, man! You're gonna love it! I'm not going to release anything publicly, but once you're rooted let me know and I can send you the apks I use to make my phone look stock ICS.
I recommend Viper4G ROM from the Original Android Development forum. It comes with an awesome tweaks app that will let you customize the icons in your status bar to AOSP style. If you flash a different ROM I'll help you get it as AOSP as possible but you'd be on your own for the status bar
I might start a thread in the theming forum with screen shots of my setup and directions on how to emulate it now that I think about it. I'll be out of town Sunday so I'll check back here on Monday

Well ... after trying Stock, CM10, and MIUI, I was having buyer's remorse ...
But then I installed CleanROM DE.
Holy crap! This thing rocks!
Good day fellow people on XDA.
I was wondering for quite a bit, if it was possible to maybe add, for example, the htc camera .apk to, maybe, the miui jb rom or any other rom without sense.
Actually, the only reason I'm staying on sense based miui are the miui apps and the htc camera. I know it might need the sense framework but I'd really appreciate any answer..
tl;dr --> Can I use the htc camera app on a non sense rom. I don't even need 3d, as this isn't possible.
THANKS FOLKS

A big NO my friend. Its not possible to break the coding of htc camera apk to work on other roms without sense. It's coding is somewhat connected with sense

oh man.. thanks
I did expect that.
BUT, why isn't there a sense 4.x MIUI rom? that'd be enough for me actually..

EDIT: Is it possible to get MIUI apps on other roms??? That would be even better!

Hey, thanks man
This is CDMA though.. I'm on GSM.. rom looks cool though!
I guess I'll need to wait for JB sense 4 to get a sense 4 MIUI.. or whatever, I don't know
To the apps, I'd like the MIUI notes, miui backup, voice recorder, actually miui has got lots of great apps. Do you think i could just push them into the system folder and set the permissions?

That rom was based of the official gsm version so I know there is one out there. Maybe digital high can point you in the right direction...

I didn't really get what you're trying to do but if you want to flash MIUI on your GSM phone, download either one of the official MIUI below;
ICS MIUI 4.0.3 this is the last ICS based MIUI where everything works including 3D. This is build 3.2.22
JB MIUI 4.1.2 this is the latest BETA which is version 5, almost all stuff works except camera/camcorder 3D and is the latest build which is 3.5.24. Be aware though that if you flash this one, it doesn't come with onscreen keyboard and you will have to find a keyboard you can flash at recovery or install ( as an .apk ) using file explorer when you boot up. Also you have to flash Google Apps AFTER rebooting your flashed rom or else the home button will not work. You can download Google Apps here.
