[Q] CM 10.1 signal bar question/issue - Motorola Droid RAZR

Morning all,
Yesterday I installed CM 10.1 on my Droid Razr. Seems to be working OK, but I've noticed that in some places (e.g. my living room), my signal strength meter shows 0-1 bars. I installed OpenSignal, and it's showing full-strength on voice and data, despite the status bar showing little or no signal. I've also tried making calls and surfing, checking email, etc., and it seems to be working fine.
So my question is if anyone else is noticing this behavior, and if there's any way to fix it? It's not a big issue, but I would like to be able to trust my meter w/o having to open another application.
TIA

[Q] Signal Issues

Hi all
Sorry if this question has been answered, I've had a good search through the forums and can't seem to find an answer.
My problem is as follows. Completely randomly but quite frequently my phone will lose signal, the signal bars remain full but I am not able to make/recieve calls, send/recieve messages or send/recieve any data for anywhere between 30 seconds to a few minutes, then just as suddenly all will start to work again. It occurs in different locations so I dont think it's a issue with the tower I'm currently on. When it occurs with data I have noticed that the 3G symbol will not change to H.
I have tried several different radio's and roms including 1.5, 2.1 and 2.2 roms, currently running cyanogenmod 1.4.3 (froyo) but as I say this occurs across various roms and versions of android. I have also tried setting the region in the Info(*#*#4636#*#*)-Phone Information menu to Automatic, Aus1 and Aus2 with no improvement as well as enabling and disabling cyphering (no clue what that does but thought it worth a try)
Can anyone shed any light on this at all? It's driving me crazy!
Thanks

Turl CM9 data connectivity issues

Ok, first off I've searched many of the data connection issue threads out there but nothing seems to apply to my situation.
I'm having a problem where my data will disconnect whenever i receive/make a call and/or send/receive a text message. About 1-2min after the call has ended data will reconnect, if I toggle airplane mode data will reconnect a bit quicker.
I'm using a Bell Atrix, unlocked running Turl's CM9 from the below thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500535
I've had the phone for a year running the stock 2.2 then 2.3.4 then 2.3.6 and never had any problems until I unlocked the bootloader and installed CM9 a couple days ago.

You sure you're not in an EDGE/GPRS area? You can only have data during phone calls on 3G/HSPA+.
Edit: To verify this, go to Settings > About phone > Status and look at what it says for Mobile Network Type.

System settings/about phone/status/Mobile network type is :"HSPA:11"
I'm in a HSPA+ area, same location I've been using the phone since I bought it a year ago which is in the city core
ok, after a bit more trial and error I haven't been able to solve the problem but I have been able to narrow it down. As it turns out when GPS activates my connection will disconnect for the 1-2min as per above.
My workaround was just to disable GPS for the time being, but this isn't exactly a solution, if anyone has any advise it would be very much appreciated.

Remove multiple APNs. This happened with my old Desire Z. Whenever the GPS is on, data disconnects. Deleting unused APNs fixed this.
hmm, I've never deleted an APN before, if I do this will the network automatically reselect ones for me?
Don't delete everything, just delete what's not needed. The APN that's in use has a selected radiobutton at the right side. Leave that and the MMS one alone, delete the others.
I just deleted one of my two apns, then tested internet and a voice call which both still work, I turned GPS on and opened maps, I get the gps icon on the notification bar but it isn't blinking(also my network connection reset again), then I tried GPS test and again the gps icon at the top isn't blinking like it used to(it has the icon but it's hollow, i.e. no dot on the inside of it blinking) though my network connection didnt' reset this time at least.
I'm about ready to just chalk this up to CM9 on the Atrix just not working right because its unofficial and lacking proper drivers.
GPS icon in status bar does not blink when searching in ICS. You get a blank crosshair when it's searching for a signal, and a filled crosshair once it gets a lock.

ok so I tried turning gps on and running gps test, I let it go for 20min and it didn't pick up a single satellite(this is outside)
Try clearing agps data.

Thanks for the advise, I downloaded "GPS Status & Toolbox" from the market and used it to clear my A-GPS data, this seems to have solved the problem of my network disconnecting, however I'm still unable to get any satellites to show up in GPS test(yes GPS is turned on).
Any thoughts?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100 sam-card slot acting strange

So I bought a new Galaxy SII and pretty much rooted it as soon as it arrived, I use CyanogenMod nightlies and update daily to the most recent version. It worked fine for a month but at some point when people called me, the phone would automatically hang up and i'd hear stange sounds, the phone is prepaid but at some way, if i'd enable connectivity I would still be able to use WhatsApp everywhere (it also said thing like H, H+ and 3G)when I had a signal, even without a data plan.
Then after a while it just said KPN (my provider) in the lockscreen but the signal indicator would be black all the time (no sim-card detected), now it's even weirder, you know when you turn on Wi-Fi and it connects, the Wi-Fi signal bars will be gray for a while and then blue and when it's blue you can use the internet. Well, as soon as i'd turn on Wi-Fi and connect to one of my routers, both the Wi-Fi AND sim-card signal would get 5 bars, and the sim-card signal bar would also get gray and then blue, so I thought yay I can call again, nope, it says full bars, it says KPN but as soon as I call someone the screen goes black for a while and then the phone app crashes ...
Can someone help me? Is this a software problem or something intern? Is this repairable? Please let me know
The 1st screenshot is with Wi-Fi, the 2nd one without Wi-Fi for a few seconds and the 3rd one is without Wi-F- after half a minute.
I hope someone has also experienced this and knows how to fix it ...
Someone?? I will by a new phone if nobody knows how to fix it, I can't even call or text right now..

[Q] connectivity issue with grey signal icon

Hi, I'm using i9100 running:
SlimBean 4.2.2 build 3
Baseband i9100XXLPX
I have been encountering some weird issues with the different colour of the signal bars when blue and grey (both in wifi and mobile data). I have read a whole bunch of threads about this and am pretty sure of a couple of things:
1. Blue = connected to a network and in touch with google servers
2. Grey = connected to a network and not in touch with google servers (you may or may not have internet connectivity with grey)
So when I'm blue everything is fine and works as expected. Except this doesn't happen all the time, when I'm on mobile network only it generally is blue but sometimes isn't. When I connect to wifi networks about 50% of the time (whether or not I have to do some web based authentication after connecting) the wifi signal is grey.
When this happens sometimes I can use web browsing fine, but google play won't work. Sometimes I can use both. Sometimes no internet connectivity, also when this happens if I switch to mobile data they bars remain grey and no connectivity.
Is there a fix or workaround for this as it's very irritating and it also only seems to rear it's ugly head when I really need to use data for something important and works fine when other times just to troll me.
Things I have tried:
Clearing data from google framework services and google play and then rebooting, but didn't work.
Any help or insight would be most appreciated. Lots of people just seem to post what I said in 1 and 2 but don't seem to recognize that there is a problem with the lack of connectivity sometimes when icons are grey.
Thanks
Sadly I'm having the same issue. No fix yet? I'm running slimbean 4.2 cause build 5 gps is broke
Have you tried changing your modem? A good start would be LP4, but every modem is different for everyone. Also, when the WiFi icon is grey for me, nothing loads. When it is blue, it does load. To fix this for me, I just reset the router/booster, and it will work fine. Annoying I know, but at least it's a workaround.

SlimBean Build 6 - Signal strength indicator always on zero

Hi all,
Just switched from Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightlies to SlimBean build 6. Am enjoying this ROM except for the fact that it never shows that I had any signal.
Even though the signal strench indicator is at zero, I can use the internet over 3G, make phone calls and receive text messages.
Anyone familiar with this issue? Apart from some people mentioning that I should install a different firmware I cannot find anything. Device info has been attached.
Any help would be appreciated.
