Thanks for being helpful.
Stay on topic. Also, if you cannot help, it would be better not to post these insignificant responses.

I did, but help dosen't come in miracles or thunder bolts. It is sent through others. I will pray that you open your eyes to God.

You should S OFF first. i think it's possible to downgrade with S ON there may be a thread in the Dev section, but I don't recommend that.

He can't ask Jesus for help because he's dead and his body died 2000 years ago. lmao! What I've found is there is no need to downgrade as long as you stick with ICS. of course I have no idea what I'm talking about. BUT those guys that figured it out do!

You cannot downgrade and flash a different downloader unless you are s-off.

Flash an RUU that would have 1.4 like ver 1.13 in Fastboot USB:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Shooter
From there, flash a recovery. I suggest getting 4ext control app.

Running the RUU will not downgrade. If it did why would they have had to make all of the complex steps to downgrade from 1.50.
Is there a way to make the RUU see the phone as a lower h-boot version without root access by tweaking the RUU exe. just a thought.

Like a previous poster responded, get s-off using the wire trick. It only takes five minutes once you setup. People who have done it wish they would have done it sooner.
Look the bottom line is if you want to go back to H-boot 1.40 you need to S-off.
Countless people in this thread have said that and you refuse to accept the fact your stuck on H-boot 1.58 until you S-off.
I am on relocked 1.58 s-off from 1.4s-off. how do i go about reverting it back to 1.4 s-off?

Download the 1.4 hboot, rename the file PG86IMG.zip (case sensitive) and place it on the root of your sd card. Make sure that the ROM you are running will boot with the 1.4 hboot first. If not, boot to recovery and flash one (the reason I suggest this is if you have an hboot 1.58 ROM on there and flash the 1.4 hboot, you'll get bootloops). Then, boot to bootloader and have it "update" to 1.4. Reboot and remove the file from the root of your sd card.

Bricking the phone with S ON will cause it to enter emmc mode in which an Hboot can be flashed.
But he should change the main version to the lower one before attempting to brick it.
After flashing the hboot, device will have been unbricked, but RUU still needs to be flashed.
It is possible, but whether there is a guide for this or not, I don't know; nor do I know if it is practically possible either.

If you have PG86IMG.zip that contains only hboot 1.40, you can flash it through bootloader or you can flash eng bootloader

So I updated my rezound to the newest RUU minus the Global roam ota, still s-on, but i got courageous and tried to s-off my device yesterday using control bear...it didnt work, so my questions are as follows, does the new RUU make it difficult to get s-off? and how do I revert to a RUU that will allow me to do s-off? any help would be awesome. i tried to use an older RUU but when the bootloader scanned the ph98img.zip, it only scanned it but never went thru any of the motions to change the system. fml

seriously??? so itll still work?
yes, I used Hasoon2000's S Off Toolkit. First I tried it using a laptop and windows 7, and for some reason it didnt work. Then I used my desktop with XP and it loaded. Then it was all about the timing with the wire. Took about 75 times, but it worked!
I also got s off after installing the global RUU. It was a PITA, but eventually worked, just like mclass.

I tried on my wife's to s-off, failed, flashed a 605.5 stock rom and ran the 605.5 controlbear and finally got it. Then flashed the global RUU, re-unlocked, and flashed inef deus (based on the global). Working great now. FWIW, he doesn't say it will work with other ROMs/RUUs...says it might, but then gives the combos that work well.
I achieved S-Off on my Evo 4g LTE by downgrading from HBOOT 1.19 to 1.12. After doing this I stupidly ran RUU to upgrade from 1.13 to 2.23. Now my bootloader is showing the following:
EVITA PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-########
HBOOT-1.12.2222
RADIO-1.12.11.0809
OpenDSP-v29.1.0.45.0622
eMMC-boot
It also has an incorrect IMEI, but a correct SN, and don't know about the MB there. All of them have barcodes as well.
Evita HBOOT on a jewel? The phone now only sits on the HTC Splash with the Dev warning red text.
Am i screwed?

Are you sure you have the correct ruu? There is no version 2.23, our latest version is 2.13.651.1. Just throwing ideas out there.

Sorry I meant 2.13, I was at work and didn't have it in front of me.
When I run the RUU it does go into RUU recovery and scrolls across and give me successful at the end. But still no good. When i plug it into my windows computer it shows up as "HTC Android Phone USB Device".
Have you tried to install the updated hboot on the lazy panda Site. If you out the pj75img.zip on your sdcard card and reboot into the bootloader it should install. Then install twrp 2.2.2 the same way and install the rom of your choosing.

Since its the wrong model it looks for PJ83IMG.zip. When I do this it reverts the HBOOT to 1.12.2222. When I do the same for TWRP it flashes but still won't boot to it.

Nevermind. You could always try the downgrade. It seems like its the same process, especially if you ran the wrong ruu and it pushed a different hboot.

I ran the 1.13 and it took, i got into adb but could not get root (not surprised) I installed SuperSU and still couldnt get root. It seems like it runs the system underneath the splash. Sometimes the volume keys even play sounds like its adjusting. I rebooted and havent got back into adb.
Could the HBOOT just be miscommunicating with the hardware?

alright somehow when i was in recovery and noticed i had the # (root) in the adb shell so I rewrote my apparently broken block 4 with the backup i made after S-off.
SUCCESS!
Now im booting into my system and my recovery. although no network access right now although it might have to do with firmware bits, I'm gonna try to RUU with 2.13 again.
Somehow u kept the OneX downgrade files even after the RUU which seems odd. Have u tried asking the people working on the downgrade process?
I'm sure they would be more helpful to you.

So I have the virgin mobile 3d and I am rooted with s-on. I've been trying to get it off tho. So I was following the quick and dirty thread. And so I relocked the boot loader and then I started up the RUU like the guide. And about halfway through the installation it gave me boot loader version error 140. So I looked it up and I think it means that I was trying to downgrade. And that's why it didn't work. I was supposedly going from 1.14 down to 1.13. These are the version The ruu gave. I'm not sure what the numbers were about but can someone help? That ruu was supposed to be the most updated one. And i have been searching like crazy. Any help would be appreciated. I understand these things, so don't be afraid to talk techy to me lmfao. Thanks

See the note for S-ON users in this post, which is also linked in the informational posts after Step3 of the guide. The reason you are having this problem is because you have already installed the OTA, which has a higher main version (mainver) than the VM RUU.

The PG86DIAG.zip file is an advanced diagnostic that is very tightly controlled by HTC, but the bootloader always looks for it anyway.
The filename for the zip doesn't matter when you use the fastboot flashing method. Can you paste the messages you are getting here starting with the "fastboot erase cache" command? Make sure you delete the PG86IMG.zip file from the root of the SD card before trying the fastboot method.

So you're saying I should extract the PG86IMG.zip from an older VM ruu? And then place in the root of my sdcard? That would give me the stock boot loader :-/. I already got s-off with jbear hboot 1.7
I'm trying to dual boot eventually so I want to be on hboot 1.5
Edit: one thing I haven't tried is leaving it named PG86IMG.zip and placing it on the SD card. But using 1.5 is that safe to try?. I'm thinking it will work because it is a sprint phone. It has sprint branding. It is just on VM. Let me know what you think

Follow the instructions in this post since you are S-OFF already. I recommend the JBear 1.50.5050 instead on the 1.50 hboot since that doesn't need to be unlocked to run extended fastboot commands.

I have had tried 3 different tools. rumrunner, firewater and revone.
Nothing was able to get S-OFF with hboot 2.49.
Tampered and Unlocked - but that's it.
Currently I'm running on Windows 8.1.
Has someone better results with hboot 2.49?
I'm having the same issue.
My VZW updated as soon as I opened it up out of the box and I let the update run not knowing the issues i'd run into.
I'm on hboot 2.49. 4.4.2.
I can get root with weaksauce, but for some reason the firewater temproot wasn't working for me. I've tried rumrunner (both universal and specific version), and firewater. No dice.

I have had no chance. Do you have an international device?
If yes can you explain how you have done this?
I have seen that the hboot 2.49.000 will also update the TZ partition. And I guess there is the problem why it will not work. I have had used almost every S-OFF tool for the OneMax but nothing will run to the end.

I have had tried 3 different tools. rumrunner, firewater and revone.
Nothing was able to get S-OFF with hboot 2.49.
Tampered and Unlocked - but that's it.
Currently I'm running on Windows 8.1.
Has someone better results with hboot 2.49?

I am having the EXACT same issue as you. I am running HBOOT 2.49 on a stock, factory locked, unrooted, odexed Verizon HTC One Max.
For the life of me, I cant achieve S-OFF regardless of everything I have tried, including the tools you listed above (rumrunner, firewater and revone). I am at the point of giving up, I have spent 2 days trying to figure it out with no success. it must be an incompatibility of these tools with the 2.49 HBOOT firmware. I am eagerly waiting for a developer to give me a working solution.
There is a thread at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765383 where developer Mrt69 CLAIMS to have an S-OFF & superuser package that will work on this version of HBOOT, but his link for S-OFF package just takes me to dating sites and other random malware/garbage, not the package itself. so I have been unable to test. let me know if you have any luck.
I am also running windows 8.1 Pro, but have also tried it under Windows 7 with the exact same problems.

The link works for me and I'm stuck just like you, do you need the files? If so I can send them to you.
The more brains involved on this the better!

That would be fantastic if you could send it to me. I can't get that link to work. You want me to provide you with an email address? How large is the package?
