WiFi calling rebooting the phone - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

So I'm rooted with an unlocked BL, stock ROM, and using a custom kernel to enable Logo2Menu. However, starting today WiFi calling is now rebooting the phone on any call. I've been running the custom kernel for a few days without issues and had WiFi calling working last night.
Does WiFi calling rely on the kernel or is it part of the ROM? Has anyone experienced this yet? I have terrible service at home, so this is pretty important. Thanks.

Yes Wi-Fi calling relies in the kernel.

So why did it work prior to today? I didn't flash the kernel today. Is there a stock TMo kernel?
Also, do you have proof of this or speculation?

I've been running the bulletproof kernel for a few days and Wifi calling works fine. Did you make a Nandroid backup?

[Solved] WiFi and bluetooth not working

WiFi says error. Doesn't turn on. Bluetooth isn't working either. I used the all in one tool kit to root it and flashed the kernal using fastboot. I'm sorta lost

Additional info. I flashed energy Rom and may have failed in flashing the kernal. forgot to back up my stock T-Mobile USA build. Help?

WiFi and Bluetooth* not working.
I had an idea. I did the exact same thing to my girlfriends phone. Only her WiFi and Bluetooth works perfectly. Even hotspot. So I figured since The device in question is also an HTC amaze. I could restore her nandroid backup onto the amaze with the problems. Would this fix the problem. I'm really hoping for some help here. My fingers are crossed. Should I do this nandroid swap?.

Did you try re-flashing the NRG ROM with the stock kernel? EDIT: I mean selecting the stock kernel when installing.
I did reflash the kernal. Seems to have taken but issues remain. Im.thinking of restoring a nandroid from another amaze with all working. Should I?

Restoring a backup from another amaze fixed all.
Step one. Back up both devices in twrp.
Step two. Transfer working backup to the following directory in non working device. Twrp/backups/hlg727729<- example file name. Each phone has its own.
Step three. Take nonworking phone. Full wipe, restore, full wipe. Backup because its never a bad idea. Done.
Common knowledge? Not for me it wasn't haha
I would get rid of twrp recovery. As il not sure if it supports charging while off.
i would strongly suggest using 4EXT on htc phones, since it was mainly designed for them... and also i wouldnt use two identical backsups on different phones, i have tried it and it leads to issues later when the phones are connected to the same network.. and it my cause other system files to malfunction after awhile when using other apps
4ext sounds cool. I'll check it out. Thanx as for the backups. You are probably right. Wouldnt doing the wipes solve that aswell?

no i tried that, but both phones still end-up with some of the same settings like android device id and identical mac addresses plus some things in the kernel get curropted along with other issues... the risk is too high to try it out

Wi-Fi Modules - ASOP

My Wi-Fi broke when I flashed my last few kernels. It keeps happening even with different kernels being flashed. I was wondering if anyone knew how to go about flashing just the Wi-Fi modules and see if that helps. Or if it somehow could be ROM related. I am on Neo's AOKP Roxa.... Whatever haha and newest Firmware. Thanks

verizon dna update problem...

hi all, I'm from TURKEY, I have droid dna verizon, stock rom using.
1. hotspot not working.
2. I want to update but update only the active mode CDMA.
What should I do.
I'm pretty sure the built in hotspot only works on Verizon.
And since your not in Verizon, the easiest way to update is probably going to be to root your phone then flash a updated rom.

Oh snap...a faux kernel!
Just wanted everybody to know that this DOES work with your STOCK t-mobile 32gb rom.
best kernel !!
Dang, when can we get some actual T-Mobile only kernels so we can get WiFi calling back!?
thanks for the kernel.. worked great.. I used one from the international htc one, and when I would restart, I would hang on the 1st screen for over a minute, replaced it with this one, perfect... was able to remove from system/apps... and disable the boot sound. replace the bootanimation...
No WiFi Calling? Deal breaker...

It doesn't say anywhere that WiFi calling doesn't work, it does. In call audio works both on wifi and regular calling.
In fact this was just a couple posts above saying it works on stock T-Mobile rom

Yup, as far as I know everything works.
Yeah gonna run this on my Tmobile stock rom when I get it, looking forward to it as Faux works wonderfully on my Sensation.

Ok I decided to give the $5 a go. Wifi Calling does work fine. So far everything works fine. Battery life isn't any better than stock so far.
I flash it with twrp and still not installing, is there a tutorial?

Since faux kernel works with internation phome would all roms from the Normal HTC one forum work with the T-Mobile version of the one?

Hey man, just got it to work. When you're in twrp. Go to install. Click on the faux kernel you want to install. And on the swipe to install screen, make sure you uncheck the verify box. Then it'll work.

Still based on the old kernel base (4.1.2, needs camera fix from OP still)

WiFi won't connect after flashing Roms

Hello, I have had my phone for about a week now. I bootloader unlocked using HTC Dev and now s-off with moonshine. I am on stock rooted ROM with the latest software version. Every time I flash a new ROM, everything works but WiFi. Networks show up and everything and it tried to connect but it doesn't. Am I forgetting to flash something? I am using the latest version of TWRP and even tried Clockwork. WiFi won't connect with either recovery.

I also forgot to mention that I do a full wipe also. Data, dalvik, cache, and system.

What ROM's have you flashed? Did you have this issue when you were stock? If so you may have a hardware issue.
Also, stay away from ClockWorkMod, as it can be problematic on the EVO LTE.
Everything works fine on stock. I have flashed CM 10.2, Evervolv, Vanir AOSP, Avatar, and maybe a few others i can't remember. Everything seems fine when I flash, except the wifi issue. I was thinking maybe it was a kernel issue, but I don't think so now.

You can try toggling airplane mode on and off, and try to connect. Not much else I can think of. WiFi always seems to be a little wonky on AOSP, at least for me, anyhow, but I can always get it to work.
I will try that, thanks. Will report back. I remember I had to do that a few times on another device to get WiFi working properly.
Sent from my EVO using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
There might be some patches available for that... so checkout the developer's page and also view their changelog in order to make sure that its not a bug....

I just flashed Evervol again and tried the airplane mode toggle trick. It still didn't connect. I am going to do more research and will get back with you all.

By chance do you have ATT Uverse? Just curious if yours is the same issue. My phone will only connect/disconnect to wifi when it wants to. I only have that problem on AOSP roms though, not on Sense roms.
I have been searching the last couple hours researching and still can't find the problem. I am trying to flash AOSP Roms. I will try a Sense rom and report back. Thanks, you guys..
