Nope most people seem to be using an app called gsam batter monitor. I just installed it myself but I'm having trouble deciphering the ui. I'm going that will come with time.

I gotta admit, HTC butchered this a lot LESS than Samsung butchered the GS4, but what HTC did to the battery stats section of settings is absolutely idiotic. The stock battery stats is far more intuitive and informative than HTC's.

Pure idiocy. The only reason I can think of is that they thought people would look at it and be unhappy with the result, so they removed it. Battery life is fine though. Whoever made that decision just wasn't thinking.

Using the market app Voodoo Simple CarrierIQ detector, I got a final detection score of 100, which suspects that CarrierIQ is installed and running.
I have several entries under 'Linux kernel dmesg log' that look similar to:
<6>[110449.651075] [SDAL_32]: 1 <SDIO_CIQ > t=0, r=0, tt=0, rt=0
(the first two sets of numbers in brackets change, the rest are the same)
Anyone have thoughts on this?

that app is about as reliable as me going up to some random tweeker and asking em if I have carrier iq
For those of you not finding it did you happen to root and freeze "HTC Report Agent"? Was wondering what this app did. I froze it so I can't check what permissions that app has.

CarrierIQ was associated with HTC. HTC puts a lot of its own apps on phone, they might have added this one too.
Yeah...I was thinking same thing....
Even tho Verizon says they don't use it what's to say that htc or other phone manufacturers aren't?

I thought they said something like "Verizon doesn't use CIQ "
http://www.engadget.com/update/carrier-iq-which-companies-have-the-smarts/
And just to be clear...I wasn't questioning any of ur guys knowledge...I question what vzw does/vs what they say....
They don't use CIQ according to them...but is CIQ only company of this kind? Not trying to perpetuate fear but I just don't feel in the clear....especially when on my x2 I have database for user stats and have seen scripting regarding communications with moto servers regarding user stats....
im gonna go looking for these files/lines again....

Says them -- I don't necessarily trust everything some PR spokesperson says. Remember CarrierIQ saying they don't have the capability of recording keystrokes or texts/e-mails, too?
i did the new lookout one in the market today too; again, it said i had nothing..weird. try that one?
And it'll be the Evo LTE or the SGSIII.
I have handled both and like the Evo more. (rocking a Photon currently)
My one question: is there a RELIABLE AND BUG FREE workaround yet for the botched multi-tasking??
If not, I think that will ruin my experience.
Thanks.
Nope, even with everything I've tried it is still crwp when compared to other phones I've owned, specially stock android 4.1.

I tried multiple roms and so far it seems there is no fix.
For example I was on the web browser. Backed out with the home key to go to home screen. I then went to settings to change my display settings went back to browser and the whole page had to reload and refresh.
My GS2 and Galaxy Nexus was better then this phone in the performance department.
Not to mention after you start installing apps and setting up your home screens the phone just gets slower and slower and less snappy.

Yep. It's bad.
Bad enough that my lte is sitting in a drawer as I use an alpha cm9 build on my evo 3d. Multitasking, background downloads stopping, and overall sluggishness compared to stock drove me away.

Jelly Bean will be running on the LTEVO any day now, which will mitigate the multi-tasking issue. With that said, I've tried both and the LTEVO was the clear winner for me. The Galaxy is way too plasticy for me.

Nope. Just this phone. I returned this phone due to crappy gps, lag and horrible multi tasking. Having to keep my screen on to download something was unacceptable. I'm on a s3 now and xda app was still on the last Page I viewed yesterday evening and I've played a few games and run a few other apps. Gps is best I've ever experienced on a phone. Besides the camera and display HTC failed on this phone.
Is it just me who notices that the evo doesn't really multi task well? When ever I jump back to an app using the recent apps button the app reloads or refreshes. For example I'm playing a game, pause the game, shoot a few texts, check my email, come back to the game and it restarts. Bte I'm not rooted and have just installed the latest update. Thank you much.

Can't speak for sense 4.1, but 4.0 butchered multi tasking. It greatly limits the amount of simultaneous processes running in the background. I could not go back to sense at this point.

There are already a few threads about this, also from the Q&A sticky at the top of this very forum:
Racer Of All said:
Q: Multitasking does not work like in previous phones, why?
A: Pretty much the phone kills applications off relatively quickly. Most ROMs have addressed this issue and you should receive better multitasking while running them. If you do not want to run a ROM a fix some people found is to go into settings> developer options scroll to the bottom and select "At most 4 processes" under Background process limit.

So no, there's no real fix for sense based ROMs. Most of the ROMs help alleviate this issue but none outright fix it. HTC also claims that this is their intended behavior and that there is no issue with multitasking, so don't expect an official fix from them.
AOSP or CM10 is your only current option.

Sounds like the developer option/fix will drain battery. Do you guys know if the sg3 multi-task better than the evo? I just picked up the phone and still experimenting on it. If all goes well ill keep the phone. So far I like everything. To me, the cons are battery and multitasking.
Otherwise everything else is great.

The phone will outlive the battery. I've had my og evo for 2.5 years. The oem battery doesn't last more than 4 hours anymore. Thank goodness for the gorilla battery, it made my og evo last longer and feel new again. Otherwise I woulda jumped on the 3d or design. Glad I didn't.

Its not really so much the phones ability to multi task as it is the software... as already stated, running cm10 multitasking is phenomenal however running sense 4 multitasking is terrible. Basically, the phone has the ability to multitask however HTC kinda screwed us on that on sense 4

No, I highly doubt that.
Theres no room for a bigger battery. You would have to replace like half the phone if you were to make some sort of extended battery cover.

I can't believe that they'd still have the menu button at the bottom like that, even in Sense 5. That just seems unacceptable to me in this day and age. I'm glad I can get rid of it on the DNA with custom ROMs, but most aren't so lucky.

Is there a way to only have the percentage to show? I currently have the percentage and battery icon showing in the status bar.
While I'm here, how can I remove the 4G LTE icon to only show when I actually have data toggled on? I know it animates when data is on, but it's clutter in my eyes.
I would like to add that I get 3 or more icons that show up and completely fill my status bar when I'm charging my phone on my computer.
I find I have lots of icons on my status bar when I'm charging my phone, if it helps, I'm using the ATT version of my m8.
