Hello everyone !
I would like to stream the audio output of my PC to my android phone via wireless to make a "wireless headset". I've already seen an app that would do this but couldnt remember the name. the app came with a nice lightweight server.
Is anyone knowing an app of this sort ?
Thank you
Do you have a new iPad without a cellular connection as well as your S3? You already know you can make the S3 into a personal wi-fi hotspot but that can use lots of juice and you want the S3 to last the full day, did you know that you can connect the two using a BT PAN profile on the S3? No, here’s how…
First setup your S3:
Assign a BT name – Settings -> Bluetooth -> (menu) Device name
Enable BT – Settings -> Bluetooth = 1
Note: I needed to reboot the S3 at this point to make the new device name effective but YMMV
Enable BT PAN (tethering) – Settings -> More Settings -> Tethering and portable hotspot. Check “Bluetooth tethering”
Set S3 to BT discoverable – Settings -> Bluetooth. Check “[S3 BT name] Only visible to paired devices”
Pair iPad and S3:
On iPad: Settings -> General -> Bluetooth. Bluetooth = On
On iPad: Choose [S3 BT name] and pair devices
Note: You can initiate the pairing from either device but if you do it from the iPad end you don’t need to enter a PIN
That’s it – you should see a “chain-link” icon in the upper left of your iPad (same place you would see a wi-fi indicator) and you’re good to surf, visit the “App Store” or “iTunes”.
Why to use BT?
Use WiFi Hotspot instead and its much faster.
BT is really slow for HSDPA+ connections.
I use my iPad and I connect it to the mobile network using S3 as a WiFi Hotspot. It's working really great.
In a word or two - battery life - BT is significantly lower power consumption than running a wi-fi hotspot. Yes it's bandwidth is limited but it's higher than I see on an HSPA+ connection here in the East Midlands, UK.
i tried this but my GS3 pops up a screen notifying me to call my provider to activate this service….
Thank you very much!

The funny thing is, I don't have an option to tether via BT on my S3 in that settings menu. Only wi-fi or USB.
Hello, Bluetooth pairing is not possible between iPad and android. Seems that this feature was removed recently
does this still work? I get a message on my s3, then data connection is lost. Is there a workaround?
Just a easy solution
You can easily make a wifi hotspot on your samsung galaxy S3 and share the wifi with your ipad
Hi all- Long time lurker/searcher; but haven't found an answer to this one.
My android phone auto-connects to my car's bluetooth adapter upon starting the engine and it's great. However this works only when the bluetooth device setting has both "use for phone audio" AND "use for media audio". This particular bluetooth adapter has a rather crappy microphone, so I would like to use the settings as shown in this screenshot:

However, with this setting the auto-connect no longer happens. I have to open the android bluetooth settings and manually connect every time. I assume this is by design. I'd imagine this is a 1-line setting in a config file somewhere? Any suggestions for making the auto-connect happen regardless of the unchecked "use for phone audio"?
The android device is a Droid X running CM7 stable (indeed, very stable). Thanks
Hi,
I have a tronsmart mk908ii TV Stick with Custom Kitkat [Rooted]
It is connected to the internet by LAN (RJ45 to usb)
Is it possible to change DNS settings for LAN?
I find solutions and apps for wifi and 3G/4G, but the don't work for LAN

Tasker-toggle "media audio" in a bluetooth device profile with screen off and locked
My issue is the following - after the recent software update on my phone (Meizu 16th, non rooted), I have found that I need to toggle (in my car's bluetooth profile) the "media audio" button off and then back on once my car Bluetooth connects to my phone (which switches the media audio on by default).
If I do not do this, I cannot play media via my car's speaker system via bluetooth connection. See attached pictures.
Is there a setting which I can use in Tasker to directly toggle the media audio?
Although I would prefer to do this directly using Tasker, I have tried using Autoinput.
With the screen on Autoinput performs the task (go to Bluetooth settings page and a do a series of clicks on x,y location and back to home screen) as intended only 50% of the time successfully. Autoinput does not work with screen off/locked which is not ideal.
I would like to perform the task while the screen is off.
Please help.
Thanks.
Hi, I have a similar issue. I would like to toggle the 'media output' setting with an NFC tag using Tasker. Have you found a solution to achieve this? Many thanks.
