One could install the new version of omega for s4 without recovery, via odin

Hello,
Yesterday I got my SGSII. It's my third Android phone and I'm not new in flashing custom ROMs, although I'm really confused how things work between kernels and custom ROMs here. I got stock ICS 4.0.4 onboard (XWLPW). For now, I flashed Syiah v5.0.1 kernel (which is for ICS) with Odin, so I got root and CWM6. I want to install NeatRom 4.4, which is JB 4.1.2 based. So can I just flash it on top of Syiah v5, or should I flash v6 first and then flash the ROM? Or maybe flash the ROM and kernel v6 before leaving recovery mode?
Sorry for this question, but I really couldn't find the answer, have been searching for it for some hours...
Thanks in advance!
you can flash both files while you're on recovery mode under siyah v5 but you gotta flash the Neatrom zip file first before flashing siyah v6 otherwise you'll only have a stock kernel.
Be aware that you have to do a full wipe before flashing them (which means you have to backup your files) if you don't wanna have bugs.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Grand GT-i9082 with Cyanogen 10.1 and ClockworkMod 6.0.1 (I think it is 6.0.1, not sure). I want to go back to my official stock rom BUT with root and Clockwork. I want them both along with stock rom.
If I flash the stock rom using odin, will I lose my cwm and root? If so, how to do it without losing my root and cwm?
Hello,
a friend owns a nonrooted SG2 with GB 2.3.6 on it.
Now its time to update to a Sammy based custom Rom like Biftor-Rom v14, which is based on XWMS1.
So I will flash PhilZ XWMS! Kernel via Odin on this phone.
After recovery reboot I'd flash the Biftor Rom from PhilZ Kernel.
Will that work?
Or are there other recommendations?
Yes it will work
Upgrading from a lower stock rom to higher one doesnt requires wiping data...
I have SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE S5830i and installed MindCr Rom v2.4. I wonder if i install another custom rom without flashing back the original stock rom will it work? I had done this before and it causing bootloop problem. Is there other way to do this?
Nope. Backing to stock ROM is important for CM-based custom ROM's. If it's a stock-based ROM, you can install over it but it MUST be a stock-based ROM too. CM7.2-based ROM's need Bieltv.3's kernel flashed via CWM and CM11 needs a MTD-compatible CWM (6.0.5.3 is the only one that works.)
Samsung galaxy s2 running on android version 5.1.1 lollipop (root & gapps bugs)
I newly installed the latest lollipop rom in my Samsung galaxy s2 gt-i9100 after the installation developer option to enable root is no where to be found, I tried flashing the gapps but it refuses to flash with the cyanogen recovery.. then I tried installing back the KitKat recovery to flash the gapps still yet it refuses... now I'm unable to flash anything with the cyanogen recovery..
pls folks how can I get rid of this two ptoblems/bugs?
