been a while since I messed about with all this stuff is there any way to change the colour of the battery to blue to give it a more stock look and maybe changing the quick toggles to blue too.
I'm on the latest official 4.1.2 on a UK BTU if that helps thanks.

You need a rooted ROM and theme. Are you rooted?

This theme will probably do what you want.
Its a flashable zip from recovery. Go through the Install wizard. It gives you options and choice of colours. Simple and good

If you mean the stock launcher, there are 2 additional themes on the device that lg had disabled. Nottach's The Base turns them on. I don't believe that there are any themes other than the 2 additional ones four the stick launcher. (I suppose it would be possible to make a custom theme for it though ) If your using a different launcher could you specify.

I found one launcher called 'next launcher´ over in the regular LGOG forums...works pretty good...

Ussually that requires you to install a alternate launcher like Apex, Nova, Go Launcher, etc. Tap and hold on the icon and a option to edit or replace should pop up to let you change it and change the name.
You can usually buy a theme for any launcher. The theme will have icons you can substitute.
Since you are already running BlackStar X, the OTA app has a flashable download that will revert all of the icons to stock ICS pics.
Nova launcher has a JB theme for icons as well.
In the padawan thread there's a note2 theme zip you can flash

Just went through some settings in Light Flow.. but didn't see any setting GS that would do what you want. There may be an app out there, but natively I don't think its doable.

But i Still have the same problem this status bar is a simplistic one. Places i have looked are lktog-res.apk..simp-res.apk..twframework-res.apk for the png but no good starting to think its controlled by a xml if possible
For simplistic no background is used, legend just using color code. You need to purchase full version to get control.

I Have the full version but have no option of changing the background my version is 3.6
I am not using since long, but you may ask on simplistic thread, AFAIK it does have.
