If it wasn't from damage take it into VZW or send it to HTC. If VZW wont take care of you then HTC will for sure. HTC is very good about warranties. Heck my friend dropped his phone when it was plugged in breaking the usb connector from the phone board. He called HTC and they said send it in. Sure enough they replaced the main board no problem.

Off-contract doesn't mean you bought it illegally! You have rights as a consumer.
Yea ok just curious because one of the posts said about warranties and I don't have one. So since that's case I may send it to HTC or just super glue the grill back on

You do have a warranty. Why wouldn't you? Did you open up your phone? If you bought a laptop and it was broken would you not send it back for repair based on its warranty?
I would recommend glueing it. They are just little metal stickers. One of mine came off when I took the cover off for jtag. Theres a website called etrade supply that sells OEM products for dna, but for the sticker you would have to purchase the entire back cover might be worth checking out though.

Mine on the right side wasn't put on in the appointed grove so it sticks up slightly at the top. Now, my camera has stopped working. Bought the phone off of eBay....

What exactly you want with this thread? If your digitizer is broken, buy another and replace it
Sent from my MB860
Try this link. It's a weird fix that might work. If not you'll just have to buy a new digitizer and replace it.

Highly doubt it. Atrix 4G is known for having issues with the digitizer. I myself have a dead stripe vertically too. Let us know how it goes tough.

Same here. I upgraded to a new phone. I was hoping I would be able to stick with Motorola, but nope.
At some point I'll probably drop $30 on the new digitizer and try to resurrect it.

Im thinking the same thing. Im going to buy something used though. Maybe a S2 or something. Only requisites are that it must have official ICS and great dev support.
I'm thinking about the note 2

Yeah lie everyone said either a new phone or replace the digitizer. There are "fixes" on the software side but mine like many other the digitizer was just broken. I can report I successful my replaced mine

Couple of question:
1) Did you replaced the digitizer yourself?
2) Where you bought it?
3) Was it hard to replace?
4) How much it costed?
I have an upgrade in November so I'm thinking note 2

Just get a new phone. There's still a chance that the replacement digitiZer won't work either.

The digitizer is super easy to replace.
I used ifixit.com's teardown and was able to figure out everything I needed. In fact I was actually replacing a water damaged lcd but I had to tear the phone down in exactly the same way. 20 minute job for someone with almost no experience inside of electronic devices.
Just kidding. I dont know how to delete this topic though

I guess kidding about the question. For those interested, the phone won't work without the battery door.

Your WiFi and mobile antenna are located on the cover. Will still work but without it be very low to no signal

Yeah; it's just the product serial number. It wasn't meant to be left on the phone. You know, like the plastic screen you have to peel off some electronics...
I can't stand people who leave those protective plastic stickers on their devices. It was meant to protect against shipping damages, nothing more. Peel it off! My dad is the worst like that. We had a crappy Acer laptop he bought from BestBuy for a while. He left the full plastic on the back of the screen for MONTHS.
I didn't know it can be peeled off. I'm waiting for the phone in the mail. Of course I will peel it off! It bothers the crap out of me as well!

It has all the serial numbers that are normally under the battery. Since there's no removable battery it's on the back, I just peeled mine off and stuck it on the box.

Keeps water out so the phone meets IPX-5 (IPX-5 – Protected against low pressure water stream from any angle). I believe our phone has this.. the Butterfly does anyway..
I charge the phone wirelessly but like the sleek look with the cover on

You can do it yourself. The guys from RepairsUniverse sell the parts and have outstanding, easy to follow videos (on YouTube) that you can follow step-by-step. At least check it out before paying someone else. They have a thread here somewhere on XDA as well

Very risky to take a part yhe digitizer from the lcd himself..
I can buy lcd+digitizer but if i can pay to a repair center,in good price - i preffer that way

Do NOT use BrokeMyCell.com. After speaking to them, they offered to try to replace my DNA digitizer, but screwed it up worse than it was. They offered to pay for me to send it to HTC at that point which I gladly accepted. Only problem, they disappeared before paying! No phone calls/emails are returned. Their Facebook page shows lots of other angry customers now too saying the same thing. They were based out of NJ. Hope that helps...
Sorry to hear that mate..
Thanks for the tip

Has anyone attempted this repair? My concern is the seperation of the digitizer from the LCD (I assume they are glued together). Any success with this part of the repair?

Yeah, just that glass/digitizer. It will look like that front glass on the device and have a ribbon cable coming off of it.
