[Q] Galaxy player 5.0 USA CM 10.1 FM radio? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Hi,
I'm currently on a U.S Galaxy player 5.0 and running CM 10.1 (jackpotvalvin) it's running pretty good, just wondering if anyone has been able to get FM radio working on any 10.1 roms? I installed Spirit FM however I haven't been able to configur it and get it working. Does any one know what FM chip is in this galaxy player? I configured the Method as Galaxy S Alsa/ICS as well as autodetect, Under Debug FM chip is set for automatic.
Please note I am running the kernal from the ROM not a alternate kernal.

Hmm I tried again but no luck. Anyone know if they will be putting back a native app for radio? I'm not familiar with spirit maybe that's the problem.

the same for me - spirit fm it doesn't work i only get a low hiss on speakers but i'm unable to tune to any radio station the signal level fluctuates from -100 do 0 to 55 to -50 etc... spirit fm works on original firmware(rooted)

Yeah, same for me.. glad to see i'm not the only one. I also noticed that after launching spirit, my bluetooth is switched off. I have to flip it back on (can't rememebr if I had to reboot). Hpefully it will be fixed sooner or later. I wish I could contribute but i'm not a developer by any means.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem too

[Q] Froyo Stock fm radio installation on cyanogen mod7.

[Q] I need help with getting Froyo stock FM radio on my Cyanogen Mod7 for LG optimus one p500.
-Is it possible to install this FM radio on Cyanogen Mod7, and how?
-Alternatively, is there any FM radio that is equally good and installable?
Please help as I don't like the cyanogen mod7 FM radio.
Idk whats wrong with cm7 fm radio, but if u dont like it,u can try spirit fm from market.
And yes stock fm radio cannot work on cm7.
I can confirm that Spirit FM does work quite well, though it's not pretty. The one thing I miss from the stock radio is the widget - neither the CM7 radio nor Spirit have a widget, which is unfortunate. Are there any solutions to this?
One irrotating thing wit cm7 radio is use of bluetooth -more battery consumption..as of now stock fm can be used only on stock lg based roms

Stock fm radio also turns on bluetooth without informing us,at least cm7 informs us.
Thanks for the reply.
The reason why I don't like the cyanogen mod7 FM radio is because it does not have auto scan, no volume control bottom, and cannot save more than 5 radio stations. Am not critisizing here, I am just used to an advanced stock FM radio and finding it difficult to settle for the less. Will try the spirit FM as suggested and will get back to you. Thanks again for being prompt. However, cyanogen Mod7 is sweet.

[Q] FM Radio & Bluetooth MOD

I wonder if any developer makes a mod of FM Radio & Bluetooth.

FM Radio works without 3.5mm Headphones.
FM Radio works in Airplane mode.
Bluetooth works in Airplane mode.

FM Radio works without 3.5mm Headphones. Depends on Hardware modification. The headphone actually acts as the antenna.
Other features are very much possible. I think a custom developed FM and BT apk will solve the issue
I have backup from some non-brand Chinese Android devices. I will test those and let you know.

Tested the FM app in my Galaxy SII. Unfortunately it couldn't find any FM channels. May be the reason is, SII does not have a metallic cover. The signal strength is quite good in my area.
I don't know why, even after plugging the headphone jack the app couldn't find any channels. But the default app found all the available channels in my area.
Have you tried any of those?
galaxy 250s dont works .you can help?

On GS2, FM and Bluetooth are not connected. It uses an Si4709 FM chip (which was removed for the US/Canada variants.)
My FM app can work without earphones/antenna and without low battery issues. Not sure about airplane mode but I think so.
But the above requires a rooted device so my app can work with the low level driver. Without root my app supports the Samsung API and thus inherits it's restrictions.
But so far my app hasn't been tested much on an S2, just my S. AFAIK, on CM7 my app has no audio, but other functions work OK.
Any possibility yet?

Works on my S2 with various ROMs.
Forget about FM over Bluetooth headset though.

Why cant CM9/AOKP etc have FM radio?

I love the roms based on CM9 and AOKP but they all seem to lack FM radio.
I know Spirit FM exists, but it is pretty buggy and seems to have high battery drain.
SO my question is why is FM radio so hard to get on these roms

FM Radio drivers are proprietary, as a result it's difficult to get the correct inputs in and direct the outputs out correctly, thus the bugs with Spirit FM, etc... Unless someone in the CM team manages to write a fully working open source FM radio driver and app, it's quite unlikely that there will be native FM support in these ROMS. Never say never, but given that it is even lower priority now that the Spirit FM app works, I wouldn't expect it soon.
ah thanks for the explanation.
oh well miui looks pretty good now and it has fm, once the sort out the bugs it will be good.

The ICS MIUI version is built on Samsung Stock, that's why they have working FM radio since using the TW FM Radio app means they don't have to deal with trying to make it work on AOSP.
Using Stock ICS 4.0.3 fm app

Would installing the FM radio app from backup taken via Titanium Backup when the stock S2 ICS 4.0.3 ROM was loaded on my phone work?

Nokia Play 360, no sound through bluetooth

I have no problem to connect and pair my s3 to the speaker but I get no sound.
All you hear is a click when I start a song. I tested A2DP volume and media button router but nothing helps.
Anyone have an idea what might be wrong?
Samsung Galaxy S3, stock rom but rooted.

I have no problems pairing and playing music from my Galaxy S3 on my pair of Nokia 360's! My only problem is that it doesn't do that through NFC.
What is the baseband version and Build number of your ROM?

There's an app on Play that can fix the nfc tag, search for Nokia 360 play...
I have the same problem. Just got a nokia play 360 and cannot get it to play using my galaxy s3. It connects well when I pair it manually, but i get no sound. Just a click as described above. Using stock rom build number I9300XXALF6 and baseband I9300NELF1. Any suggestions?
Hi,
I have the same problem! Got my Nokia Play 360 today and it pairs with my S3 but no sound comes out. No problems with other phones or my tablet.
I have a rooted phone with Wanamlite Rom and Abyss Kernel.
I like this speaker and I would like to keep them, but only if there is a solution for the S3.
Thanks in advance.
Same here... Galaxy S3 with two plays 360's. Only works with a cable (in mono mode or in stereo). Bluetooth will pair fine but there is no sound at all. NFC does not work either but i am going to try some play store NFC applications to get this fixed...
Another problem is that the Galaxy S3 audio output level is relatively low. I cannot reach high enough volume. The play 360 can go much louder but the Galaxy S3 is to 'silent'
I'm on stock, non rooted, baseband I9300XXLFB
I would like to keep the speakers as they are OK (nothing like hifi but OK-ish), but without bluetooth APT-X..... they might go back to amazon...
Any ideas???
Thanks

PowerAmp does that and is the best music player for android devices in my opinion. You can get Voodoo Control (which is now Voodoo Sound Plus) to boost the output (well at least on the 4.0 anyway) and like what KOala888 DSPManager too. I have all 3 on my US GP 4.0
Any voodoo apk doesn't work on sgp 5.0 with biuld.prop as gt-i9000.
I personally don't use eq, only bass boost sometimes in dsp. Sgp plays better than my pc integrated sound card when plugged to 150w speakers.
