[Q] Should I go for 1 X + ?? - HTC One X+

Hello all,
I recently sold my GS3.
Now considering this one. Should I go for it ??
Any issues with this phone ?? Plz reply & expecting honesh replies.
Thanks.

Well I'm using this phone now since January, and I'm totally satisfied with it. There is just one thing I don't like, that is the temperature while playing heavy games but the devs here on xda made a kernel which improved the temperature dramatically.
I would recommend this phone or the new htc one to you
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium

It depends on what you plan to use it for. It gets pretty hot when playing HD video and the camera isn't great, just average to good. If you plan on installing your own Android ROM, maybe the heat issues will be solved. Read the thread containing my previous posts for more info about these issues.
There are a lot of phones being launched right now (check out androidos.in if you're in India), so it also depends on what you like about the upcoming flagships. Personally, I don't think I will be able to see the increased pixel density from the S4 or HTC One 1080p displays, especially since those phones are $100+ more off-contract, so I chose to pick up the HOX+ a couple weeks ago. I am still considering returning it though, as I'm not sure the camera is good enough for my use and I got the internal temperature up to 60 degrees C after playing a bunch of videos, others have gotten it higher!
We can't tell you if you should go for it without knowing what you'd use it for. It has issues, just like any other phone, so it depends on whether its strengths match up with your needs.

I got my HOX+ in January 2013.
The phone stunned me since the first time boot.
It's smooth, fast and always running for me.
I never got problems with this phone.
Pro's:
-All important audio formats, even .WAV
-Great Sound
-Bright HD Display with top contrast (720*1280)
-Long battery life (better with a custom rom but also good @ Stock)
-Good phone quality
-Nothing happens, if it falls down.
Neutral:
-Loudspeaker (Sometimes it gets some crackling noises and it sounds like a can but hey, it's a loudspeaker not a hifi speaker)
Con's:
-Camera
-Play while charge let the phone sweat.
This is my own opinion.
If I forgot something, I'll edit my post.

I have extended my budget & now getting LG Optimus G. What u think ??

Definitely the optimus g. Whats the max you want to spend if you dont mind me asking ?

You should get the HOX+ cos sense 5 will soon come out and it's UI will beat the crap out of the Optimus g. Really, LG's UI Sucks.

Dude if it overheats while playing HD videos then your phone is faulty. 2hour of full hd movie on stock video player won't bring it to more that 34c

So its approximately 550$. Dude you could get better phone than both the One X+ and the Optimus G for that price. Try swappa.com and see if a buyer is willing to hip internationally. You may be able to buy an HTC One, an S4 or something else.

Having to return phone

Not happy about it. Wanted this phone for pretty much the entire year and I assumed that the One X+ had fixed every criticism. Disclaimer: some of the faults may just be my handset.
1) Sound quality is good, except when it comes to rock music (then it becomes atrocious). Remedied with a Fiio E6 but the bigass phone combined with an amp is really impractical to keep in the pocket.
2) Gets far too warm, it freaks me out. The whole phone gets hot. I assumed the Tegra 3+ was built with a smaller process but it's just the same 40nm process over clocked. May just be my phone but honestly the screen is sometimes a couple degrees from being too hot to comfortably hold.
3) All games have severe FPS issues. Probably fixable with a custom ROM but I'm not risking waiting.
4) Battery life is mediocre and drains during any activity that is "heavy", like 4 times more than you would want. In the battery settings menu, they ripped out the metre that tells you how much battery the screen has used. Odd. Missing the S3's removable battery a lot.
It's a shame because I quite literally think that the One X is the best looking phone of all time, and let my iPad serve as a counter measure against bias against Apple products. Apart from these niggles, the phone has been an absolute pleasure to use... But I didn't drop iPhone money on a phone just to text and browse the Internet. Will probably be begrudgingly be going back to Samsung, despite their heroic build quality and laudable marketing and business practises. The Nexus 4 is also an option too. The iPhone 5 and Lumia 920 will also be on the shortlist.
Literally been wanting this phone since the original was announced. I wholeheartedly agree that your experiences may be different. Just putting here as a warning!

Damn sorry to hear that but doing my own google research what you explained seems to all be true, not just your device. For getting warm i can understand, getting hot, there's no excuse for any company to allow this unless of course just making too many production shortcuts. Gaming is a big issue for me too since i do a lot on my iphone 4 and was planning on even doing more on this HOX+ with better processor and screen. If gaming is crap and the phone feels like a hot potato after 20min of gaming, ATT will see a very fast return on this device! Then idk what the hell to get, not impressed with the iphone 5 and Nexus with 8 or 16gb of storage is pretty sub-par, again cutting corners...
What specific games have sever fps issues?

Was actually thinking Opt G hands down but bro read some hands on reviews of it! Plus it's wide as hell, at least HTC did it right with the Verizon HTC DNA coming out (butterfly J Japan version) as the 5" is taller device, not wider. Could not stand a wide tablet in my pocket all day and the build quality sounds worse than the Galaxy S3 and the camera is very sub-par quality. Personally would never purchase an LG phone in this day and age. Crap build quality, crap internals, never see carrier updates. Not worth it for me at least so not even an option.

Straight from PCmag review on Optimus G for ATT and Sprint:
One big problem: I did most of my testing with the screen brightness set to maximum. I noticed it dip considerably after about 10 or 15 minutes of benchmarking. When I checked on it in the phone's Settings, I saw the brightness level had dropped down to 66 percent. I tried to turn it back up, and got the message, "Unable to brighten more due to high temperature. Try again later." This happened on multiple occasions. Especially when using processor-intensive applications like games, the top half of the phone became increasingly warm. LG claims it has not encountered this problem, but this device, along with two test units on Sprint all showed the same behavior in our tests.
So not only does it overheat but also starts turning features off to compensate for the heat now restricting what you can do on the device. So if you're happy playing a game for 15min, stop for 15min, repeat then no prob, lol! Can't understand these companys pushing out phones that can't even play a game more than 30min without blowing up in heat????? Really don't want the iphone 5 but WTF with all these other NEWER devices coming out and their overheating issues???
It also comes shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich, not even Jellybean 4.1. They say in the coming months it SHOULD come out with an update to Jellybean 4.1 and by then everyone will already be on Jellybean 4.2 or higher, lol! Prime example on how you will get the worst carrier updates if any for the Optimus G device, epic fail on too many fronts for a new device and what a waste of that nice S4 Pro processor...
Have mine just some day, so nothing to say about battery... according to some tests it should be okay, maybe good to very good
Did a lot of copy jobs etc and my device is not getting any hot... a little warm, but not too much in any way...
Sound quality is very good, nothing to complain :good:
I like it very much, just waiting for Root only thing bothers me a bit is the lack of mass storage mode... everything else is superior to my Sony Xperia S!

Here's the thread on it. Sounds like you need to use the HTC Sync Manager on your pc for file transfers as this method recognizes your device as a media device, not a storage device from my understanding. Still don't have the phone yet waiting on lagging ATT to install all their crapware before it comes out.

This is not true. All phones/tablets are recognized as MTP-Devices in all Android-Versions from JellyBean on. This means you don't have a normal windows-drive with a drive letter but rather an equivalent to a connected mp3-player or media device. Still you can copy all files to phone (and back) in windows explorer.

I too have no problems other than LTE not enabling. I'm on Rogers and LTE is supposed to be in my area. The APN is set for LTE and data is working but only H and 3G show.
For the over heating, it is just like the iPad 3rd gen or any other high end tablet. Charging while playing a graphically intense game will make the device uncomfortably hot. If you are charging any device including the One X+, it is best to leave it alone until fully charged. Now if nothing is running on the device while charging and it gets uncomfortably hot, you may have an issue. Apple says 37-40c is within iPad and iPhone 5 specs, not sure what HTC's max temp specs are for One x/x+. At 40c, another 10c and you are half way to boiling point so I hope HTC's rating is no higher than 30c!
I ended up going with the Note 2 as it was only £30 more and I really missed my S3. Very hard to get used to the size and I do miss the industrial design of the one x but the sound quality and performance are in a completely different league.

Why compare a phone to tablet? Is that fair? Tablets have a much bigger surface area for heat dissipation.

Been iOS jailbreaker for years and finally decided One X+ was worth jumping ship, at least on paper. Glad I'm not a gamer. Just needed a bigger screen and more flexibility without having to wait for jailbreaks every time and iOS update came out. But realize I may be in the same boat having to wait for custom ROMS if I don't want to wait for HTC updates. Sigh.
Mail client
Got mine yesterday, and I was pretty happy with it too - until now, that I found out that it's almost useless for me half of the time (work): Because Sense mail client does not support certificates?? wtf... standard android feature! So no exchange connection for me - I do not believe it... So I will have to wait for first custom ROM... Really hope it won't take too long.
Besides that the phone is incredible - still will get rid of Sense launcher - golauncher is much more adjustable.

Questions about the HTC DROID DNA

Some of you already know that a few of us from the HTC Elevate have the new HTC DROID DNA. Since this thread open some of us have answer your question that you may have about the new device. We have no problem answer your questions or showing photos of the device. But for the life of me and others please please stop the trolling. We are just like you, a phone junkie and have likes and/or dislikes. No one said the phone was the greatest thing ever made. No one said we are sells people. No one said buy just HTC. I have a few non-HTC phones that I like (SIII). So yes it's true a few people have the phone and yes we can answer your questions. But let's be real with the questions please. Please ask away about the phone and I'll tell you the truth about the phone. I have nothing to hide to you all and I like rooting my devices too.
From your personal use of the device. Does it suffer from previous common HTC issues.
Heating issues? Previous HTC devices suffered from heating issues even when not charging or playing a game
How does overall performance differ from The Exynos on the GS3 and the Tegra3 on the One X?
Is it similar to the Rezound where it was "technically" sim unlock out of the box, but some common features like sms were nonfunctional because a lack of proper framework support?
Really the only big question I have that I haven't seen asked is whether or not HTCDev works. Thanks

How much of the 16GB is available to the end user without any rooting or modifications?
> What are the actual chances that we will see a DNA+ or something? I really don't want this to be true, because this phone looks to be my next, I just can't fathom 16GB space and be expected to pay more per month to access MY content.
Sorry if these are 'harsh' questions, I can assure you I am not trolling and would love your feedback! Thanks!
Battery life? and How much screen on time?
I've read a lot of hands-on previews and seen lots of hands-on videos. Was wondering what the actual thickness of this phone is. I have a galaxy s iii too! CNET and several other places are quoting that the HTC reps are saying it is thinner than the GSIII. I really don't see it. It looks kind of chunky to be honest. Places like GSMArena and PhoneArena are listing it as 9.7mm as well, which is thicker than the 8.6mm on the GSIII. So I'm confused. I hope its thinner though...
What type of soft touch is the back? Is it just like the One X, or is it more like the HTC 8X? The 8X feels awesome BTW.
Those stripes on the side. Are they ridged and made of their own separate material and feel, or is it just a fancy painted on thing and is part of the same piece of polycarbonate as the back?
It seems to suffer from the same shiny fingerprint look as the One X. Is there any improvement from the One X in this regard? One X also had perma-shiny, where rubbed off areas were permanently shiny. Seen any in the DNA?
How good are the loudspeakers? I heard there was an amplifier or something for the loudspeaker in addition to the headphone jack. The GSIII aren't much better than the GSII. I think the One X had a bit better speakers. But the Galaxy Note has awesome speakers. Don't sound tinny nor distorted. Fuller than most smartphone speakers. Almost as good as the crappy speakers in my car if you turn it up, minus the bass. Where does the DNA fall in this spectrum?
Do you see any improvement in the camera? I've seen sample shots and the colors look a bit better. On the One X, the colors seemed way off to me. I also saw a sample video. It looked smooth, but it was short. The One X had choppy video and smeared a lot. How much has improved in this department?
Are the screen colors more accurate than the One X? The One X skewed a bit too yellowish/orange and overly warm for my tastes. Also, has the reflections lessened? The GSIII had little to no reflections compared to the One X. What about contrast with the brightness set low? I wasn't really impressed with the One X's contrast when set to low brightness for nighttime or indoor usage.
Is this a Verizon only thing? Because it is kind of lame for people like me who buy GSM phones that can be used on either AT&T or T-mobile. Maybe there's a sim slot and its a world phone? Probably not...
Thanks for looking!
Please can you shed some light on improvements in camera department if any !
Thanks in advance
Does it come unlocked so that I can buy it outright and use it with a different carrier?

I would say the HTC 4.x is very lite. If you had the rezound or the SIII you should know about Scott's CleanRoms. To me Sense on the DNA is about as lite as CleanRom on the Rezound. I had no heating issues at all and I tested the phone hard last weekend when I was in Phoenix (4G). I love the SIII it's a great phone (the radio sucks but that's a Samsung thing) but hands down the DNA wins. The DNA is just fastest from the start, when I power on both phones (I did Odin back to stock) the DNA boot time is way faster. Apps, games and web searching the DNA is faster (I used my WiFi at home). The Rezound had bad framework support for global use if I remember right. Not 100% sure about global unlock sim with DNA and I have asked HTC about this for someone that asked the same question.

This is the part of the DNA I dislike, I asked over and over why only 16GB. When I first got the phone I forgot to check storage and had installed about 10 apps. When I did check I was around 11.5GB of phone storage. I have the Nexus 7 and it only has 16gb of storage. What I did is went out and got a micro USB flash drive cord. From what I have read from HTC Elevate site, the feedback is the same questions you all have. Why not sell the phone 16GB for $199 and a 32GB for $249. I can see down the road HTC comes out with a 32GB phone.

[Q] Convince me: One X+ over Galaxy S3

Ok. I'm planning to upgrade from my LG G2x (Wind Optimus 2X) to either with Galaxy S3 or the One X+ (North American - Telus Canada versions). I'm leaning to the S3, but I want to see if people on this forum can change my mind. My criteria:
- Real-life performance (benchmarks are moot)
- Battery-life
- Camera performance
- Construction quality
- Future proofing (ROM development both 3rd party or manufacturer)
Coming from the LG G2x, I've learned a lot of lesson on areas I've gotten burned. That's one reason I've ruled out the Nexus 4 (being LG) and that fact that 16GB is not freaking enough. Google is smoking dope if they think we can get everything off the cloud and don't need much storage...not when we're on a plane or in the subway. I've learned that nVidia is terrible and doesn't support or provide source code for the Tegra (at least for the Tegra 2), I've learned, that though the processor was great, the G2x was totally short on RAM 384MB (usable), I've learn that given all these issues both LG and developers here and there weren't spending much effort supporting the device.
I much prefer the design and construction of the One X+ over the Galaxy S3, I also prefer, Sense over TouchWiz, but I'm open to trying new ROMs, skins, and launchers. I prefer things to work well stock, out of the box, but again if I need to rolling in a new ROM (or just a nice update on Android, I'm happy to do so.)
So I've probably already convinced myself based on my criteria, the S3 is better choice for me, even though, I dread the look and the feel in hand, and the fact that it's as ubiquitous as the iPhone. So someone convince me otherwise to go with the One X+ instead.
SM
I just came from the s3 and all I can say is if you like features speed and a beautiful phone one x plus is for you as for development the s3 is going to be best if you like switching roms
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
How do you find the battery life and camera compared to the S3? Reading reviews online and the battery thread here, I still sense the still S3 wins in those categories.

I too came from the S3. I exchanged it for a One X+ yesterday. So far, the build quality is like day and night between the S3 and one X plus. The 64 gb of storage is useful as well.

It depends on what ROM you plan to use for battery life. I can't make a solid answer about battery yet, but I will say if you plan on gaming it eats up battery pretty quickly. IMO, I prefer the One X camera. Audio quality on the one X plus seems better as well. My advice would be to go to a store and try both phones out and see which one is best for you.

The battery is about the same as my s3, that I owned for 4 months it's about 8-19 hours depending on how heavy I use my phone mostly tapatalk YouTube pulse facebook talk and texting all day with some GPS navigation. The camera is about the same, (HTC camera software blows Samsung's out the water) HTC one x wins all the way in my book, the phone works great s3 software is still ics stock while the one x is jellybean.
One thing I wanna note is the one x plus has no lagg at all the speakers on the s3 internal and external sucks compared to onex+

Not a lot gaming at all. More surfing, videos, and I tend to use navigation a lot when I'm travelling. I hate having my phone out of juice in the middle of the afternoon especially when I'm travelling in another city because I was using the navigation/GPS a lot.

For me personally there is also a non technical/specs related reason. I've always been a fan of HTC devices. Design, build quality and reliability is the best among Android devices. Eventhough competing brands might offer a specs wise slightly better device, I keep supporting HTC by buying their products. I want the company to stay in the Android phone business! Otherwise Samsung or Apple will soon be the only main manufacturers...

Agree 100% on HTC as company. In fact, I was using HTC for my two previous devices prior to going to the LG G2x. Again big regret going to LG. But times have changed a bit and Samsung is really pulling ahead in the Android market. My biggest concern with One X+ reading around is the battery life. Right now it seems some people are doing fine with while others are having some serious battery drain issues. I might need to get the device and try it a couple of days to really find out for myself.

Isn't there a 14-30 day period when u buy a phone that u can return it no questions asked with a new contract? If so, why does anyone need to tell anyone answers to questions they can figure out on their own? Lol. Get the S3, play with it for 10 days, return it for hox+, return it in 10 days, then stick with the one u like best. If u can't figure out battery life in 10 days then a smartphone probably ain't for u, lol! Some people
If you had to choose between phones, choose between the Optimus G or the HTC One X+. I say this because I personally want to spend $200 on a phone with 1.) Good Build Quality and 2.) not outdated Hardware (the S3 has a dual core, all phones now have quad core). If you want many ROMs, then get the S3. I've had all 3 phones, and I'm sticking with the One X+. Battery life is on par with S3, but the Optimus G has the best out of all. One X+ screen is on par with Optimus G, and they both blow the S3 screen. S3 and One X+ cameras are both good, Optimus G's is mediocre.
Hope this helped.

I'm in Canada, so things are a little different with our carriers. My current provider had a 30min voice and 50MB data usage limit to void the device return policy even though the period is 14 days. I'll have to look into Telus's policy more closely if they also have something similar. That and we have 3 yr contracts and better healthcare...
I just returned my One X+. I wanted it because I really like the 64GB of internal storage. Plus I was getting bored with my Galaxy S3. I knew I was losing RAM but figured it was worth the trade off (the U.S. GS3 has 2GB RAM vs 1GB for One X+).
I have the GS3 with AOKP and after using the One X+ I realized it is NOT faster than my GS3 like I was thinking it would be. I knew the One X+ was not as friendly to root and flash ROMs like the GS3 but I was willing to just leave it stock. It's not that it lagged or anything. It works great as is. It's just that having the Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 (Nexus 4) it did not offer the performance boost I was looking for. As for the storage, my GS3 does have less internal storage but it does accept SD cards.
It does play better looking games than the US GS3 with its Adreno 225. It will get really hot playing the high end games but I had a case on so I didn't feel it as much. The One X+ GPU is not better than the iPhone 5 GPU or even the Nexus 4 with its Adreno 320. I knew that before hand but was still fine with that. I just mention it here in case you didn't know.
As for battery life, I had a PowerSkin on my One X+ that offers some protection AND has spare battery power if and when needed. So I didn't have a battery problem myself.
If your fine not having a device that's as friendly to hack and has as much developer support then I would say the One X+ would be good over the GS3. I didn't like that by keeping my One X+ stock that I couldn't disable all the bloat but it was a small price to pay I guess.

You do realize the one x+ has a 12 core gpu. IPhone 5 is a quad gpu and I'm not sure about the s4 pro.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
lol. You believe because it has more cores that makes it better? The “cores" are not equal at all. The GPU's are different. And although you see that number you are very mistaken to think that makes it more powerful. Its not. Its not even close to being the same.
No the iPhone 5 has a 3 core GPU. The iPad last I check has the quad core GPU to push all those extra pixels. Benchmarks can show how many frames the devices run loading and playing certain things. The iPhone 5 in mine and others who done it handles and plays way smoother with mores frames in those intense benchmark 3D tests.
I forgot some people can't accept a device they like or has being less powerful and beaten by other devices. In whatever area. I didn't mean to make think the One X+ GPU is not good. It just really is not better than the other two I listed. Once my devices GPUs are beaten by others I have no problem accepting that. In fact, I said the Tegra-3 was better than my Adreno 225 in my GS3.

It is good phone. Everything is good apart camera. It record fluently and fine but photos are average. It can be better if devs will come.

I'm using my L9 (P760) for more than two weeks already, I can say only the best about this phone. The processors are great, I'm really surprised for its performance even running games like Vice City, it performs almost the same as the Galaxy S3.
The battery is also great, it lasts for one day using it heavily (music, calls, messaging, web browsing, games, etc) without a problem.
Design - it looks very minimalistic, I love that. I have the white version, the only reason I picked white color was that the screen (when it's turned off) looked cheap for the black version, I mean the screen is a bit brighter, more like grey when comparing to the phone color it self, but for white it isn't noticeable. I hope you got what I wanted to say.
Camera could be better, but remember it's a 5mp camera, so the results are actually very good, + it captures 1080p Full HD videos.
Sony Xperia P is a good alternative for that price, but it doesn't have Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, the screen is smaller - 4 inches, weaker battery, though it has a 8mp camera and HDMI.
To conclude, I recommend you to buy the L9. In my opinion, it's the best phone in that price range.

I bought my LG 2 months ago, its quied decent device. The best thing about that phone it is performance. I was comparing with my friends Atrix 4g, Tegra 2, 1GB ram, smaller screen but same resolution, gues what  we compared the devices on Asphalt 7, tegra 2 was realy slower and have worse graphics, no reflections , no blur efect on nitro etc. LG put inside very good CPU/GPU TiOmap 4430/SGX540. In normal every day use u get one of the best phones, calls are realy loud and clear i have to lover volume because every time i talk i think i have loundspeaker on. We have here 2nd mic for noise cancelation and it works realy good you can talk even outside when wind blows.
It have only 4GB build in memory ant that is the bigges dissadvantage, u get for apps only 2,3gb, and without root ur still unable to move apps to sd card.
Updates : It looks like LG have changed few things i get 3rd update atm (v10c,e,g) in 2 months, we are looking in the future for possible JB update.
Summary : In that price range is the best smartphone u can get, battery life is very good, display is realy good, colours are vibrant and it is realy bright. U get WiFi Direct , DLNA conectivity, NFC, and one of the best UI on the market atm. Camera Could be better but it still enough good in this price.
Strong Dual Core SmartPhone (almost phablet 4,7 inch), almost forgot about QuickMemo its realy handy, u can make screenschot of ur display and draw or write anything u want. Good gaming performance. For normal use u dont need anything more.
JUST BUY IT , my advice.

On lg site it have exactly the same specyfication like p760, i think it is region specyfic product.
p768 is little different due to fact it have 8mp camera, and p769 have little smaller screen 4,5inch and the camera is placed centered on the back not ont the left side like 760/765/768.
Every one have the same spec 4gb build in memory 1gb of ram and tiomap 4430 1ghz dual core procesor
I didn't know where else to ask - so - how's video playback guys?
Can it play 1080p video files? If it can, are they laggy, missing fps or so?
And i suppose it can play 720p without problems?

What do you mean by no light sensor? You mean the message led light that blinks when you have a message? Or are you talking about the light sensor that locks your phone when on a call if your face is near the screen. All L9's have a light sensor. They just don't have a led message indicator and if that makes it a junk phone then sir you are a picky person.
No light sensor as in the screen can't automatically adjust to how much light is in the room or outside. Not that big of a deal to me I guess. Then it can be adjusted by toggle on the notification bar. Keeping it on half brightness is good enough for me most of the time. The small internal storage space is probably a bigger issue.

screen brightness cannot automatically adjust with light sensor.
it is big hassle for Americans, we are driving all the time, we cannot see when it is too dark . we cannot manually adjust the brightness when driving.
Almost any modern android phones have this basic function, but L9 does NOT - what a junk.
Also, odd resolution of the screen is crazy; many app just not working correctly.
why they cannot make 1280x800 same as is brother G on same size screen

From what I've seen, nothing at this price point compares to the L9. If you want something better at this price point, I'm guessing by late March to early April we will see dual core S4 Pro devices fall in price to below 300, maybe even around 200. Who knows, maybe sooner? But if you need a phone NOW, go ahead and jump at the L9. It's pretty good.

I can tell you it can record 1080p video through its camera, and said 1080p video plays back in the standard android player quite nicely, with no signs of frame dropping, major stutters, or lagginess. I have not tried any external video, though I can't imagine it would be laggy, with how smooth stuff recorded in 1080p HD on the phone is on the playback.
Hope this helps.
ok, tnx, i'm watching movies on my phone often, so i was wondering about it since i saw relatively similar benchmarks as tegra2 with1 ghz which cannot play bigger resolution videos smoothly or even at all
From what I read, it seems that the CPU in our phones is better than the Tegra 2.

whatevs.. when I was rocking the htc evo (original) people asked was it an iphone...
Everyone who sees it seems to want one.
It is a remarkable phone. I am asked about it several times a day and it is quite a pleasure to demonstrate it occasionally. II have never had a negative response from anyone who sees it or plays with it briefly. I think that a "tablet phone" is what makes sense for virtually anyone who relies on using the internet for their work (or has become dependent on it for conducting their personal business). I simply don't have to carry my laptop or my larger tablet with me anywhere. If "word of mouth" works to spread the news about a product, my experience with people asking about my HTC One Max is an indicator that the product (or others like it) will be quite successful.
Once we get the Kit Kat upgrade and I have the full featured, redesigned Quick Office (with spreadsheet editing capacity and other features), I will truly have my office capacities with me at all times. I think this phone sets the standard which others will follow.
lack of recognition can be a good thing sometimes..it keeps a lot of the idiots out of these threads...
I'm still on the fence about this lovely device. I do wonder if the original note had similar reception.

I am used to pulling out a phone and have someone ask a question about it almost every single time, so it doesn't bother me. I used to have a Hitachi G1000, and it was the same size, only thicker. I just tell them that this is HTC's answer to the note. Then, when I tell them that there was a Samsung phone in the store (Galaxy Mega) even bigger than this, I usually get a chuckle.
One of this phone's strengths is on its premium sound/speaker. HTC should spend more effort on enriching its self advertising, I.e fancy/attractive ringtones and notification tones, out of the box.
Its amazing sound has attracted many people.

I actually had mine up until the one max. Sprint's one up program requires you to give up your old phone at the start. I asked the lady "Any phone?" She said yes, but technically not really. I told her thanks for the yes, and I'd be back. I drove home and pulled out my G. I know it understood. It was time. I even had the charging cradle for that thing. Nothing worse than playing fast and loose with the battery life and having a factory reset happen due to no power...
It's really mind blowing that htc doesn't advertise, and that's why they are getting beat. Samsung and Apple are advertised in just about every kind of media. It's sad because their phones are one of the best, or the the best out. Instead they're getting their asses handed to them.

One of this phone's strengths is on its premium sound/speaker. HTC should spend more effort on enriching its self advertising, I.e fancy/attractive ringtones and notification tones, out of the box.
Its amazing sound has attracted many people.

It's really mind blowing that htc doesn't advertise, and that's why they are getting beat. Samsung and Apple are advertised in just about every kind of media. It's sad because their phones are one of the best, or the the best out. Instead they're getting their asses handed to them.

We are not talking about tones (media content), but talking about 'sound quality' produced by stereo & bigger speakers of HTC one max.
Check this obvious difference.

Sorry for a wrong quote.
My recent reply should be related to Mr galaxy guy, above.

It is unbelieveable, why this amazing one max has no recognition.
If you were the ceo and you knew your product strength is on sound quality, then what will you do?
Will you just relying on your customer to download those too many options of media content in the google store?
Or you will introduce your brand image, by showing and educating customer (teasing competition), "see and hear, this is the sound of a high end phablet supposed to be".

I was just using ringtones as a example
And i dont buy a phone based of clarity, clarity usually means softer in volume unfortunately
But how am i suppose to think the htc max has better sound then the galaxy based of a video with standard speakers , so the video is showing the phones playing sounds through a soeaker, thus is being recorded through another speaker, to me that dont show anything or do either phone justice imo... Im gonna go to sprint and mess with both in person and see which one is better over all phone, not just based on sound / media / whatever else
If max has a clearer sound but is softer in volume then the galaxy how am i suppose to hear it ringing in my pocket? Again ill just wait and see
Both these phone's absolutely have PROS and CONS
One con for max is it has a closed off battery cant get a extended battery
One con for galaxy now have the knox system and can no longer delete binary counts after flashing
And im sure theres more but ill save those opinions, for the right thread and after i went and messed with all the high end devices
Kinda wish htc would push more devices out each like samsung does give more choices for their brand

If everyone watched the commercial below they would all buy a One Max
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X4Xrtvh70Mc
Its like how white is your white.
whiter shade of white?
If all people test their phone speaker quality by watching this video,
stream it in HD,
full screen (horizontal)
place screen about 25 cm in front of their face.
After they play it with htc one max, then they will start comparing,
not only among phones, but any other speakers from headphones to their home sound system.
Try it with a demo smartphone in your phone retailer.
You will know what eargasm is all about.

Ps: when comparing from phone to another, dont play a wrong video. Mark it. Its the one which more than a million people watch it.

I like when I pull out My HTC ONE MAX and People are like WTF! What Phone is that?! And after talking to them and Showing it off to them, they want to get rid of their current phone and get an HTC ONE MAX!
And I have Influenced Quite a Lot of People over the Years with the Tech that I have without even trying to go out of My way to do just that.
I guess that in some Aspects, I'm one of the "JONES'S" that People want to keep up with.
can you imagine how popular this phone would be if HTC actually ran a tv commercial for it?
I have never seen a single magazine/tv commercial for the one max, so "mainstream" people have no clue what so ever about its existence..
