HELP! about samsung galaxy s2 kernel and custom ROM - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i rooted my device with a siyah kernel s2 v6.ob5+ on my samsung galaxy s2 i9100m. and it says on the website that it is not compatible with the cm10.1 custom rom. does any of you know how to change the kernel to something compatible with cm10.1? or do you know any custom rom compatible with this kernel? I AM OPEN TO ANY suggestions and recommendations. my battery wont last more than 3 hours with my rooted samsung galaxy s2 i9100m on official jelly bean 4.1.2. i need a better kernel or custom rom (4.2.2) that is friendly to my battery life. A BIG THANKS.

When u flash CM10.1, the Siyah kernel u now have is replaced by the CM10.1 kernel. So u won't have any issues.
Kernel supporting CM10.1 - Dorimanx
ROMs that Siyah v6 supports - Stock JB, custom JB ROMs based on stock JB (Omega, NeatRom, Alliance etc)

AFAIK, you cant dual boot GB with ICS/JB as the kernels are very different.

Am sorry, I didnt understand.
While dual booting, both ROMs share a single kernel.
So, for both ROMs to work, they must work using the same kernel, and hence must be ICS or JB.
GB kernel doesn't support ICS or JB.

turkbey rom

can anyone suggest if I m on paranoidandroid v1.6 4.0.4/baseband xxlps, and want to flash turkbey xperia look a like rom what do I need to do first, as I m originally on cm kernel do I need to flash philz or any other secure kernel and reboot to recovery then follow op instruction....please advice.....thanks in advance
Are you concerned about the BrickBug?
Don't worry mate.. that only affects stock 4.0.4 firmware with stock kernels.
Just follow the OP's instructions on Turkbey ROM thread.

CM kernel is a custom kernel, and brickbug only affects stock kernels. So no worries..
But if u still aren't convinced, u can flash Philz safe kernel, and then flash Turkbey.

Here you go some info regarding dual booting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120514
Also here is a thread with rom's already updated to run as your second rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2199844
This may not be essentially what you require but I hope it helps guide you either way.
@strictly.mobile:
U know those threads are to dual stock sammy JB with non-sammy roms (aosp/aokp). That is not what the OP asked for, right?

But there is always a risk that the OP might be a newbie.. he might get confused by those threads and ultimately brick his device or something...
Just a suggestion...

@immortalneo
No dramas mate, I did see OP was newbie, I guess I should have added a heads up to proceed with caution and ensure you read and fully understand before attempting to dual boot.

You can't run two stock roms. Alliance is custom stock. Dev from alliance said no to this working. Asked before. Op wants stock 4.1.2. And alliance. Can't be done. Either way round 1st or 2nd rom it won't work. ATM.

Which version of Blazing kernel do u have?
Tegrak should work with the latest v7 kernel.
Am just curious, but what kernel does PACMAN rom come with?

Thats better! Always mention some stuff you tried or read, so that we feel you have tried to search and failed.
You can flash Siyah or Philz kernel.
Or if u don't want a custom recovery, use this guide:

Sorry, but recommendations are not allowed on this forum. I suggest you try and see which u like.
To be honest, it doesn't matter which u choose, because once u flash a custom rom, the kernel will be replaced.
If ur really confused...
Philz - same as stock, but improved custom recovery
Siyah - custom kernel, more features, more tweaks
Dorimanx - based on siyah, heavily tweaked and tuned
Jeboo - haven't personally tried, but I think its a tweaked stock kernel
