The clock on my daughters phone keeps moving on 3 minutes or so every so often. This isn't a massive issue apart from it seems to do it around when an alarm is supposed to go off and it keeps missing it. Anyone know what it might be or a solution for it?
Was phone recently updated to JB and factory reset was not done?

Hi, I don't know if anyone else had experienced these problems, but I'm having strange sense force closes every time I restart the phone. It gives me time to put the sim card and screen passwords, works for about 30 more secs and then f**ks up... Same thing happens over and over even after a factory reset, I've probably sent more than 10 reports to htc already. On top of that, today - two more things happened: the clock on the top right corner next to the battery icon just stopped at 1:57 although the screen one was working fine. It started working again after a restart (and another sense force close), and finally - when I turned on the WiFi, the 4g icon didn't disappear, so now I have both icons in the notification bar...
I haven't tried to root it, neither have I unlocked the bootloader. It's the way I got it + several more apps. Anybody else having the same or similar issues?

Swap it out at tmo. You should still be in your 14 day return period.

First hour I had my phone it reset/reboot 4 times while I was playing with it. It was stock, didn't restore my backup from my Vibrant. After the 4th reset, I packed it up and decided to exchange it at Tmo. I then decided to do a factory reset. After that, the phone worked fine without any weird reboots. 3 days later, I downloaded the HTC software update. As soon as the update was done, I messed around with the phone and it reset twice on me. I exchanged it the next day. My new one works perfectly! Go exchange it!
I think I may have found the reason for the Sense force closes:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183877
I was using Juice Defender Ultimate... Since the clock and the Wifi/4G icons are part of the Sense interface, perhaps this app is the reason for the other problems as well... What bugs me though is that my girl's Amaze is also running the same app with no problems whatsoever...
The stock android clock on top right of my screen wont update! Say i turn phone on at 1:20, it wont update to 1:21 or ever change unless i reboot then it will have the correct time for that ONE minute. I haven't recently installed or changed anything like apps or anything. BUT the clock on my lockscreen(widgetlocker) updates and works fine and is accurate. I went in date and time settings and its set to automatic, in the greyed out "set time" it shows a correct updated time, however this time isn't being shown up on the top right of my phone. I tried putting it in "manual" mode instead of the automatic mode and it still wont update..Ive reboot and pulled the battery several times to no avail. Im runnning stock rom and kernel, just rooted. As i said before i havent touched any new apps or settings in several days. This is really annoying as i cant tell what time it is while on and using my phone without going to the lockscreen and it just now began happening. Anyone have a fix or also have this issue??
I'm having the same problem today with my HTC Inspire 4g. Like you I have done nothing to my apps and its getting annoying. My phone has Cyanogenmod 7 flashed onto it.
i had same issue . made a phone call to make the phone get the auto time change then rebooted for good measure
Wow, mine was related to the time change, apparently! As soon as it reached 2am where i am it started working fine again!!(Time change was at 2am here)
I am using CM7 latest weekely every thing is perfect but now suddenly my phones screen turns on like call is coming and turns back off after 2 sec and this happens randomly.
is this expected behavior?
is there any work around?
My fiancee has an atrix that is totally stock and hers just started doing this yesterday. I would also like to know the answer to this. I was thinking it was a hardware issue with the power button but hopefully i am wrong, that way I dont have to mess with a warranty exchange. Any help would be appreciated.
by any chance have u just start using this app "Memory Booster - RAM Optimizer" if yes then this might be the one, i have just messed around in its settingsd and no screen wakup problems so far

No. The only apps that I think might cause this that I have on her phone is beautiful widgets and a data toggle. She has had these apps on there for awhile and the phone just started to act up.

Both me and my brother own atrix and it happens on both.It was happening on stock 2.3.4 and now on cm7 as well it must be something with the phone not a rom related issue
i also have beautiful widgets, can sk8trix conform that his and his brother phone have this app too. if yes then this might be the cause. or we have to tell each other whole list of apps that we have installed to narrow down the culprit.
On her phone I have all of her apps that are supposed to sync turned off. I recently installed data enabler for her so she would have a data toggle on her home screen. I use advanced task manager to kill her apps by force stopping them. Last night I used it and closed everything and turned her screen off. 5 minutes later it come on for about two seconds and shut off. I have been looking at what apps might be causing this and really dont see anything unusual except for the data enabler and beautiful widgets. I will uninstall both of those and report back later on to let you know the result. Hopefully someone else will come along with a better solution.

I don't use beautiful widgets ever.....I even tried with a clean install no apps installed except stock cm7 apps and google apps and it still happened so I gave up trying to figure it out.
it doesn't shorten my battery life at all so I don't worry however if there is a fix I will use it because it is annoying.
Edit the only time the phones wake up by themselves is right after we hit the power button to turn the screen off or when the phone firat boots and is still locked it will turn the screen off and turn it back on the dim again.
I dont think its cm7 issue cos i was at weekly # 4 and there was no issue then i flashed tuch recovery and after that boot it started happening. Then i flashed latest weekely and reverted back to old recovery. And i agree this only happen when i turn screen off (randomly)
OK here is where I am at now with this problem. I uninstalled both apps and it seems to be ok for the time being, but my fiancee told me she had been receiving weird messages in her notification bar. I looked into it and she was getting ads in her notification bar. So I downloaded AirPush Detector from the market and ran a scan on her phone and it detected a couple of apps pushing notifications. I got rid of the apps and now im back to checking the phone again. I dont know if that AirPush app would help you guys out or not but it would hurt to try.
since i have started this thread my problems have gone away like a little *****, and i dont know how to recreate this problem any more so i am stuck with no problem no solution thing.
12 hrs passed no problem so far.
It was apps in the background running. Airpush helped. I told her from now on no more free apps, i would rather buy them then fight this **** again. I put the data toggle and beautiful widgets back on her phone and it's ok. Thanks for your guys input.

I am having The same problem with my Samsung Galaxy ace Gt-5830i.
Earlier it had problems with charging and SD card. So we took it to authorized service center. And they said they had formatted the phone and installed stock ROM on it. They also replaced the charger port. But now after two days the phone screen is turning on and off at repeated intervals (for about 2 Seconds). So what might be the problem.
Hey guys,
I've been reading the forums for the past few weeks and have been enjoying the discussions here, yet not having too much to add (constructively). Apologies if there is a thread on this already. I have done a couple of quick searches but nothing came up that seemed to fit the bill.
I got in this evening and took my S2 out of my pocket to find something wrong with it. I'll explain below. First of all software details:
Baseband Version:
I9100XXKI4 (up to date as far as Kies is concerned - stock ROM)
Apologies in advance if I'm missing any important information (I'm trying to sift through and try pick what I think are the relevant points).
Issue:
I felt my phone vibrate twice and took it out of my pocket (expecting a text). Instead I found the "Desk Clock" part of the stock "Clock" app flashing on and off the screen. When I tried to close it I came to the lock screen, unlocked it and then the desk clock opened again. It reloaded every time I attempted to close it. I tried to end it using the task manager but it didn't show up on the active applications list. I restarted the phone.
When I restarted it didn't seem to load properly with app icons all over the screen and the home screen numbers in the middle of the screen. I have a screenshot which I'll try to upload later. I restarted again.
This solved the arrangement issue but didn't stop the desk clock popping up. I also became aware of another problem. The battery was showing 12% (down from ~35% it was showing before - when checking battery usage). I plugged it into my laptop via the USB lead I have (which I had used earlier in the day to charge it). It didn't recognise immediately that it was charging. I swapped to AC, it started charging.
It then started showing "driving mode activated" and asked me whether I wanted to complete the task with UlysseSpeedometer or Voice Talk. I didn't press anything. When I pressed back it then asked me again a few seconds later. I restarted the phone again.
This time it showed 37% battery! I switched to the USB charger to try to back the phone up. It had trouble connecting but did eventually. I left it perfectly still as it tried to back up but failed twice partway through doing so.
Recent changes:
Only real changes are installing Super Compass today, which when (re)reading reviews didn't seem suspicious. I have uninstalled just in case.
Additional information:
I updated to 2.3.5 through Kies about a month ago (the first time it was available for me after checking for updates every few weeks - I have friends with the same phone on 2.3.4 and 2.3.3). Since then the countdown timer on the clock app sometimes shows the preprogrammed 1 minute countdown even when I have a timer running. The timer alarm still goes off at about the right time (haven't tested it properly) though.
In addition to this I have customised the apps that stay at the bottom (can't think of the terminology at this time of night) by swapping the Phone for GMail. Every time I restart the phone the GMail app is removed but the Phone app doesn't replace it. On a similar note I keep getting asked to choose my default PDF reader after ticking the box to select it multiple times.
My thoughts:
It appears to be a software issue to me. It's late now but tomorrow I plan to attempt to back up again (perhaps just by copying all the files on the phone using Windows Explorer if need be) and attempting to reinstall the firmware through Kies. If that doesn't work I'll do a factory reboot. After that I'll contact my carrier (O2 UK) to get some support.
Question:
I was wondering whether anyone has any insight, has experienced similar problems, or has any other advice regarding this?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
Regards
T
It sounds like it might actually be a hardware fault - basically what's happening is that something on the phone (whether hardware or software related) is triggering it to think it's being connected to a dock. The desk clock is what pops up as soon as you put the phone in a Samsung desktop dock and car mode similarly pops up when you use the vehicle dock, so there may be something funny going on with your phone's connecter that leads it to think these events are happening. (The weirdly arranged home screens tie in to this, as they can be a slightly buggy result of unplugging the phone from the one of the docks while in landscape mode - the launcher tries to load the home screens in landscape and just makes a mess.)
As a bit of a bodge-job fix you can install an app from the market called 'NoDock' if you're rooted, as this stops the phone ever being triggered in to dock mode, but to be honest id say your best bet is to speak to O2 or a Samsung service centre about getting it fixed or replaced!
Anyway, I hope this helps and you manage to get it sorted - I don't know what I'd do without my Galaxy S2!

Hello, quite a late night here as well but I'll try to give you my insight (and then slam myself to the bed )
It seems that the widget in your device went corrupt and perhaps then some more... I recommend backing up your data and then doing a factory reset and eventually re-flashing thru kies (come to think of it, i don't really know if KIES supports full-wipe reflash ). Also, for customizing the quicklaunch bar, use GO Launcher EX (free from the market) - its customizability far surpasses that one of the TouchWiz
If a factory reset doesn't help, you can help yourself by reflashing the original firmware by yourself via ODIN (but be sure to read tutorials and know your firmware first!), you'll find all the needed information here
Hope you get your problem resolved

ITS a question = Q&A so well done that man for posting in the right section .

Rule one is backup data and factory reset the phone then test .
Follow that with a Kies upgrade if available .

About a week ago I saw the app/widget featured on the little sidebar thing, and thought it was such a cool idea. I updated to Epinter's CM 10.1, and for the rest of the night, I had no problems at all. The next morning, however, I started getting reboots. I then spent most of the day messing with apps and settings trying to fix it, until finally breaking down and doing a full data wipe. I eventually got all my settings back to the way I like them after having no more reboots, then all of a sudden they started again. That's when it hit me: it was only rebooting when I had active notifications! I uninstalled the widget and have since had no problems.
So has anyone else managed to get this to work without reboots? Is there a setting or something that I'm missing?
This is far from important, and I really like the other updates that came with the new rom, but I would still really like to be able to use this. Thanks!
