I don't think you could directly use the camera in stock JB because of difference in frameworks so you would have to search for a ported version or maybe ask whether some of the mod devs to do it for you, but still I think it's rather hard and difficult to do, you will have to contend yourself with something else.
If you're using a stock based rom it would've been easier.

I have found something that you might like

Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
It will be best if anyone can port it to CM7..
yeah guys...
i also want stock camera app of cm7
i tried to install it but i gives me a fc...
grrrrrrr
i think its bcoz of the new basebrand that lg created for gb update...
Even I want that , I just switched to this ROM and checked the camera just now. There is no night mode which is very important as our phone doesnt have a flash light
Stock Camera App of Official 2.3.3 GB ROM
I have a question for those who have used the official Gingerbread 2.3.3 ROMs:
1) What is the camera app on it?
2) Do you think it is possible to make the stock camera app work on custom GB ROMs?
Thanks!

Answering:
1)Same as stock froyo
2)No I don't think so as it requires some modifications to the kernel...also, someone did try replacing it in cm7 but got FC on running the app.
LG Stock Camera apps has something to do with frame work....thats y it is not working on CM
I'm not a developer, but I think that if stock camera app had something to do with kernel, this problem could be solved.. because we have kernel sources. And possibly the same goes for framework, since framework apk can be decompiled and modified.
I don't say that it would be easy, nor quick.. but a capable developer could do this kind of stuff if he had time.
If think the problem is that stock camera app has something to do with some system libs!
Libs cannot be decompiled and there is no available sources... so there is little room for modding..
Any news on this? I really really miss the LG camera app here.
I wanted, at least, an app with a simple UI and manual focus option.
nope, libs needs to be replaced, also the apk, and i think the lg-res in framework folder needs to be in the CM7 framework folder
however this will take time and u need to have time to do this l0l
I'm used to play with linux stuff, I'm a programmer and Linux user. I wanted to hack this stuff out, but I'll wait for what ICS will give us.

It's stock LG Camera for CM7 in Optimus2x
I'd love to see it happen too!
does anyone tried this? any comment?
I also want it..
even just for that cam I use multirom(see my sign)!!
I think that camera is quite good in CM 7.2 N2 by adfad666 when compared to stock... though the camera in nightlies has bugs nad quality is also poor..

Stock GB 2.3.3 Camera

i currently use Oxygen v1.1 but i think the camera is not that good so i tried flashing different rom only to find out that they have the same camera. now i'm looking for the stock gb cam or a rom with good camera quality with minimum bugs. thanks
Well I don't know of any "stock" roms,OMGB by bytecode has a good camera

Best camera quality ???

Hey I have used cm7 and cm7 based roms!!! now am using stock based roms dynamite 5.0 which has a terrible battery life don't know y battery drains faster than ever !!! But camera quality is awesome!! So I have decided to use gingerblurb as it is a cm7 rom camera quality is not so good even after the fix is flashed so I would like to know is there any way that I can make stock camera app work on cm7 !! although I only know to kitchen and a bit c++ and learning XTHTML and CSS !! Thanks in advance!!!!

Use titanium backup! (not sure)
You can try to port the stock camera...
but i think there will be some problem related to framework...
It's written in gingerblurB discription that it has the N2 cam patch by me but actually, that ROM has different libs, you should try the original fix that i POSTED HERE
No way to use stock camera in any other rom.this question is answer hundred times in different thread.
Redundant thread
This issue has already been discussed in many threads, and all of them make clear that the stock camera app cannot be ported to any of these GB based custom roms, unfortunately.

All ginger - very fast fully functional but really old.
Official ics - Laggy , self rebooting sth , Fully functional
CM9 - smoother but torch and camera flash need patch to fix. CM9 have none of XLOUD , BRAVIA , Dual mic need patch to fix. Camera performance is drop down from official. i don't know why. may be it cause by sony camera app ( we can not port sony camera app to CM9 for now )
CM10 and Jelly rom - Alpha one. fast but extremely not fully functional ( i think)
Every one here love to use Official ics as base ( MIUI , Tweaked rom or what ever ) cuz it fully functional.
for me, I need some rom that use CM9 stable version as base. cuz it was super fast.
I want a rom for locked bootloader, I cant unlock my bootloader on my phone bcuz my carrier has locked fastboot mode
how did carrier lock fastboot mode .. .___.
Currently stripped customize Official Stock ICS firmware is the best choice for Xperia ray. But most dev here are focusing on CM10 development. I recommend you to join and develop with them to get stable Jelly Bean.
ZN6 by Tapatalk 2 HD Version
I think a MIUI ICS fully multilaunge and stable..fast..battery friendly..

+1.
I sent a message about my ideas check your inbox
Jellybean
Jellybean is the future. Jellybean is super fast and battery friendly. But not fully functional yet. I wait for a fully working jellybean tweaked rom.
:good:
at last..you bought a ray..before this use x10 also and im a huge fan of your rom..very2 smooth and fast..never thought u gonna change your phone..what about your development in x10 thread?

welcome fera. the only thing missing when i switched from x10 to ray was your perfect rom. cant wait to enjoy it on my ray DD
Hi, I would definitely go for something stock-based, quite lite, similar to JJ's Hybrid ROM, but faster like RayOniumICS and with loooooooot of customisatinos. I like all the present ROMs but every ROM has something. It would be nice if you could take the best from each ROM and put it together. Oh and please don't forget the CRT effect from CM9 I'm a big fan of that. I would also suggest to make some addons as well because developers usually like to their ROM without the SONY stuff like 3dcamera, Timescape...
i'd like to see tweaked miui rom, with alot of customization of course.
miui is great on customization, and i like my phone being different
If you could develop an app or mod to enable ad-hoc WIFI support that would be great.
I see many great ROMs here, but some of them lack this support.

Thx for advance..will test evry rom out here and try to mix the best of 'em in one....and i use aroma....so...installation process will be kind of building your own feralab rom..selecting engines..apps..etc..that you like.
Sent from my ST18i using xda app-developers app
Already downloaded latest aroma binaries and writing scripts for it now..cuz its quite long hard work stuff..first release will be somewhere in 15 september...first one will be stockbased.. and next one will be cm10..all roms will use feralab kernel..and..anyway...time will show us what will be done.. will try to do my best..thanks for feedback

port applications

Greetings
If I want to port some applications of the system for more rom, what i do?
For example, if i want port camera of official ROM for a miui ROM,what i do?
Thanks
Yeah you would have to decompile the apk and doo some magic and recompile it again i dont think a sense camera will work on a miui rom use a app from play store instead

Please put the link of htc camera for miui rom.
Or put link of a good camera app because camera of miui rom is not good.
Thanks
I dont think you are understanding what i am saying you cannot run a htc sense camera on a miui rom dowload from its play store i sont use miui so i havent tried cameras from its play store as it is different

If you want the best camera for the amaze then you need to run a sense based ROM. All of the "magic" that allows us to fully utilize the features of our cameras, such as ISO adjustment and continuous autofocus are tied into sense. Every other camera whether it's a standalone or included in another ROM lacks these features as they are proprietary to HTC. So you can experiment trying any camera you like, but unless you're running a sense ROM you have to accept a less capable camera app than the stock one. I hope this clarifies things.
