Hi everyone, 20 minutes ago I updated my L9 to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (v20b), and it's fantastic. Now what I ask you is: How can I install Clockwork Recovery and official Cyanogenmod 10.1?
I would like to know this too. I need to find a root method for mac, and a simple explanation. The rest i can figure out. I just got jelly bean yesterday on my P769<3

U need to unlock bootloader for installing any custom rom.
If u dont want to unlock bootloader, root ur device and use cwm 1.5 by artas

And do root your device the only method is in ICS so if you want root you need to downgrade to ICS get root and then use Voodoo Root keep then update to jellybean again... hope that answers some questions...

Ok this is my question.
If you update to ICS 4.0.4 and want root it seems like you need to flash the kernel from 4.0.3 to be able to root according to some guides I checked our.
But how should we that use mini/mini pro that will get the update directly from Gb 2.3.4 to ICS 4.0.4 be able to root since we don't have any kernel from 4.0.3 to use?
Or can we root anyway?
Just wanted to check all this before the update arrives because if I can't root I will stay on Gb until root is possible.
Sorry if it's a noob question

Other Way to root is to downgrade to gingerbread [Android 2.3] build number .42 or .58 using flashtools and the root it using any method and then using local.prop method and then flash ICS rom and root it..

If you have unlocked boot loader you can try to flash the rootable kernel of Neo V 4.0.3 and test. It might just work. The phone will not boot. That's for sure. But it might just be able to allow to be pushed with the su and superuser files.
You can experiment if you want. Or, as my friend pointed up stairs you can check my tutorial and root it by android emulator hack.
Thanks,
Rick.

other way, flash extended kernel. and you will get root, cwm, etc ...
Hi , I have a locked bootloader and rooted my phone and then I installed CWM but now when I flash a rom I don't have root anymore?
Could somebody help me or isn't this possible?
ty xd
The rom you flashed didn't contain a pre rooted kernel. You need to root again or flash a pre rooted kernel on that new rom. More info can be found on the dev sections pinned posts. I'm not sure what a locked bootloader allows tho...

Hello,
I've recently owned razr and I wanted to know some information before rooting/installing roms
- I'm confused about the bootloader as I've read that the bootloader must be unlocked to be able to install new roms however, I've read some guides for noobs where there was nothing written about bootloader.
- Is it possible to reinstate the warranty state ?
- My razr now is on ICS 4.0.4 can I install JB roms by the same way as ICS roms ?
I've searched for answers but I didn't get accurate ones so forgive me if those questions were answered before
Thanks in advance.
you can flash roms with locked bootloaders. just install recovery

I didn't mean official ones. ex CM Can I install it on another slot beside the stock (ICS) rom using safestrap ?
Also, would the warranty back if I deleted a rom that I've installed, back to the stock one and did a full unroot ?
For what I know when you start root your phone your warranty will gone. SS v3.11 for what I test out CM ROM can installs it on slot 1.it won't touch your stock ROM. For BMM you can install it on system 2/3/4/5 and so, you can active that slot at setting before you go in recovery and flash your custom ROM.

As long as your bootloader is NOT unlocked you should be able to update via OTA without problems.
