So my stupid brother came today and started messing with my phone. He activated 'Pincode at boot' under security option.
I'm using Cm10 by M66B. I need to remove it as every time i reboot i'm greeted by the pincode!
Help!
That's your sim card pincode lock...
Call customer care for the pincode and the PUK number to remove it.

Actually, that is the new feature pincode at boot not the simlock. If problem occur again, just delete code file in /cache/pin

I haven't had any problems with this phone and even made a few calls an hour ago, but now it shows a message 'no sim card ' I have reseated the sim card and restarted the phone a few times yet I still get the message. Any ideas?
One more thing, just found the sim says it is locked. Nobody had access to lock it and I haven't set that up.
Get a new SIM card?

But what would cause this to happen?
does it give you the option to unlock it? i believe the default pin is 1234

Since you have provided absolutely zero information about what you have done meanwhile, I assume the SIM simply died. In case you have flashed something like baseband or ROM, next time tell us.

For unlocking an already locked SIM, you need PUK, not PIN.
Some more information :
Phone is on Telus. Not rooted or anything. I have not updated the phone, but it is on 2.2.1. I was not running a program when this occurred, I made a call then picked up the phone 20mon later, and I got the message. Also, I have tried 1234 and that did not unlock the sim. I have never locked the sim before.
Call your operator... do not see what you would solve here.
Hey guys i just was giving a Lumia 710 and was wondering if there was a fix to a problem im having, the phone keeps saying invalid or no sim, but my sim is in the phone, it is a tmobile phone and so is my sim, it even shows my phone number but dosnt connect to my service or anything... any help?
Hi,
Any baseband error will result in this condition. Have you played with custom roms ?
Maybe you have version mismatch wp7/rex, or baseband is corrupted. Maybe
reflash to the latest version and check.
BR
it was like this before i even unlocked it
can you provide links or any help? im a noob when it comes to wp7
Really a strange problem, if you are using a pincode, remove the pincode and see if that helps, otherwise try another simcard.
Succes,

Return the phone, sounds faulty
so ive been searching online and i think the phone is being IMEI blocked by tmobile, is there anyway around this?
Dial ##782# and press the call button now you can see if your phone is having a simlock, if yes search the forum.

Okay thanks, there are not much options left.
But we still have two problems, could it be the phone or the sim-card.
About the phone, did you already a factory reset and installed everything again ?
If not, I suggest to try that first.
Can you also tell me more about the sim-card, did you cut the sim-card yourself to fit in the phone, ordered a new sim, using an old one ?
First, if you ordered a new sim-card, just call T-mobile and asked them if you have to activate your sim.
Second, try to put a piece of paper on the sim-card to make it more stable.
For now I'm out of options,
Good luck,
Hello,
I got stuck on the PUK code screen and couldnt find the code even calling my operator.
I just want now to back up my files using the mount USB storage options from the recovery menu , but when I hit that option the drive doesnt appear on the computer.
Any help would be appreciated.
And also , can I pass that PUK code screen if I flash a new room???
Thanks!

PUK code is your SIM/carrier related.
Nothing to do with phone.
Ask for assistance from your carrier operator, they will provide you the code.
Sent from my Xperia U using xda app-developers app

Contact your operator to get the PUK code. They will definitely provide you that. Flashing ROMS will not solve the problem. It's a SIM Card problem. You can try removing your SIM Card from the phone and then try to reboot it. I am not sure that it will work or not but trying is the onl option.
Thanks for the replies...
I contacted them and they gave a 4 digits puk code when I need 8 digits , after like 2 hours calling them I went to the store and they gave me a new sim card for free.
All good now.
Hi there,
So I followed some tutorials here and managed to unlock the bootloader and install CM9.1 and its respective kernel on my SE LWW. However, even though I am using the same SIM card as before, the phone asks for a network unlock PIN after entering the SIM PIN.
Why does this happen? I'm trying to access the same network as before...
What can I do to fix it?
Thanks!
Edit: Uh, curious... If I tap "dismiss" the phone works and connects to the network. Calls, SMS, everything works. Why does it show the message then?

It is a known thing among CM users. This thing has no affect to phone usage whatsoever.
Hi,
I'm sure I did something wrong on the Fastboot Menu (Power + volume down). This worked some days ago.
And now there is no Fingerprint option on the Security menu.
What option do I have to choose on the Fastboot Menu to bring it back?
Thanks,
It was a hardware problem.
Motorola fixed it in 3 days. (Flatcable or something like that).
so i have pin setup to enable fingerprint security. my phone asks for pin on each boot up. everything was workin fine when i ota to NCL25.86-11-4-6. after i ota to latest NCL25.86-11-4-8, i entered my pin and i kept getting a message that pin entered is incorrect ???? did the ota update reset my pin to default pin code ? anyone know the default pin code is ?

i didnt even get that far yet with my phone, lol. i have non-rooted stock phone. i was on 6.0 and phone was workin fine except one issue. other party always have issues hearing me on a regular phone call regardless what my signal strength. if i uses bluetooth headset to talk, then calls are clear. i been puttin off the ota update for a while and i just figured i would give ota a try. updated to 7.0 and did all the update to the latest and bam. im locked out of my phone. i thought screen lock pin was suppose to be a backup in case the fingerprint dont work. so now my fingerprint works but phone needs pin to enable fingerprint, wtf, lol
so i have to root my phone and install twrp ?
edit. i pulled out tmobile sim, put in verizon sim, then pulled out verizon and put tmobile sim back in and tried old pin again and it worked!!! wtf, LOL
