First off my English isn't perfect so its hard for me to understand how some things work.
I have a galaxy SIII I9300 4.1.1.
Can you upgrade a galaxy S3 4.1.1 to 4.2.1?
I want CM 10.1 on my galaxy S3 but i need version 4.1.1.
I once tried putting CM 10.0.0 on it but it wouldn't work, So i searched it up on google and it said i need a dutch version of Cm10.0.0 or something( My phone is dutch)( I am dutch )
If someone can help me i would realllllllyyy appreciate it. i have been youtubing and googling for a long time but cant find anything that really helps me.

From what I heard, International version of galaxy s3 is unable to get cm10 because Samsung hasn't release the hardware or software codes yet? I may be wrong or even way off but something along those lines

If you want to install cgm 10.1 on your S3 you can download the zip file of the latest version of the Rom and if you have already rooted your S3 you have to install that zip using the recovery.
If you haven't rooted your s3 you have first of all to root it.
Where did you read that you need a particular version of the original rom to install cgm?

Hmm okay, Cant remember...
What root file do i need? this one? CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4
I have 2 odins: 1.85 and 3.07
So i root it, Put the files on my phone delete catch and all that.
Find the zip on the phone and install it?
I folllowed a other tut that said i needed gapps or something?

Please follow this howto to root your s3 and please double check your phone model as explained in the first lines of the first post: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273
After that you can install cgm and after gapps.

Have you used triangle away to reset the counter? it's important for the warranty!
So here you can find information about version 10.0 of cgm for i9300. Read the last posts to download the last release of the cm10 rom.

- Reboot your phone in download mode
- Put the previously downloaded file as PDA
- Don't tick repartition

To boot recovery you have to use vol up + home + power. Is cwm installed?
What do you mean with stock ics rom? I don't use cm. I installed it once on dual boot but i don t use it anymore.

i did everything. Now its loading with the cyanogenmod logo start up... It doesnt stop loading....

As new as you sound I would not recommend the nexus 4 conversion.
You can flash back to stock with lgpnst but setting that up is sometimes a pain so you might just want to flash a stock 4.04 based custom ROM . You can find those under development.
Edit there is a stock att flash able ROM...its already rooted though http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067871

Lol NO gtfo. They have not converted at all. The nexus 4 came with 4.2. 4.1.2<4.2 ....Therefore they are referring to the 4.1.2 jellybean port from an optimus g variation Don't go discrediting my post...

Well you our limited to the jellybean port until cm 10.1 drops for our optimus g....unless you happen to convert. In that case you have access to nexus 4 ROMs. Its not difficult to convert. If you are comfortable with you computer and can setup lgpnst, adb, and fast boot , then I would go for it. But from what I've heard in some of the threads, a lg optimus g no conversion required cm 10.1 ROM is being worked on and will drop eventually so you may just want to hold out.

thanks for ur help man. it really helped me out . i will try to wait for CM ROM. but when i connect phone and put in download mode and connect to computer LGPNST says that my phone is unknown and i can only access emergency . Another question is that i flashed my phone to 4.1.2 first and now i flashed into stock one which u gave me the link . is theresomething bad if i flash two ROM?

Yep^. Your phone should be in emergency mode and it should be unknown don't worry. Select the dll and flash then you should be good to go

sorry about that .. it says ERROR:unable loading port component
I cant find this .DLL named lgnpst_ls970.dll like said in n4 conversion instruction. there is only one option to choose .dll file and its not named e970

My friend has a Galaxy Note I717 from At&t. He just rooted the other day and tried to install cyanogenmod 10.1 on it. He wanted to flash the zip files with the google apps with Clockworkmod recovery. He tried to install the mod but it just keeps saying that installation was abhorted and the was status 7. Please help!!

u may have to update cwm or i use TWRP u can flash via odin or since u already have a recover installed download the zip and flash that recovery.
I already tried flashing it in recovery mode and how do you use Odin on zip files?

Just like stated. You have an older version cwm installed and you need to update to the newest one. I had the same problem. I solved it by putting the newest cwm zip file on my external SD. The booting into can and installing the new cwm from external SD.

If you look above your previous post ... Halo 13 ghost tells you. But to save you time. Download the newest cwm zip file. Bout into recovery and flash it. You could also install TWRP instead. My personal choice of recoveries. If you go with TWRP use 2.3.3 version due to issues with the latest.
You can use Odin if you get the tar file or your existing recovery for the zip.

Are you certain that you have the latest ClockworkMod Installed? You must flash it through the recovery. If so and CM10.1 still doesn't flash redownload it and try again. Also make sure that you are following all of the steps correctly.

Okay. So i switched to twrp and also tried to flash the rom but it says Failed in red. I don't know what's the matter but it is not flashing. I've tried different roms now and they all dont work. Please help ASAP.

What version of TWRP did you get? The newest version has issues like I stated before.

You'll lose it but you can get it back by using odin to install recovery (TWRP 2.5) and TWRP will see you have no root and ask you if you want to install it before you reboot

Your Browser must not have downloaded it correctly then.. Cause it reports the correct size when downloading and extracts just fine.
since ive NEVER been on an official update, would i install this the same as any other rom?? Wipe delvik/cache, factory reset, system...

It must be extracted and flashed through Odin not recovery.

Could always do it through Kies software. I had JamieD's SlimRom installed before I did my update and everything is working just fine.

Omni has an experimental build of 4.4 for the N7000. It's full of bugs, but it's nice to see progress on a fellow exynos phone.

RenderBroken, I have i777 on 4.3, I used GalaxSimunlock app so I could switch to tmobil. Will I loose my unlock after flashing your new 4.4?

RenderBroken, I have i777 on 4.3, I used GalaxSimunlock app so I could switch to tmobil. Will I loose my unlock after flashing your new 4.4?

No, flashing any 4.4 firmware won't lock your phone.
Instead of the ported cm11, use RenderBroken's own build.

I would like to upgrade to 4.4 but every time I try to install the 4.4 cwm my phone enters a boot loop that goes from GSII screen to the cwm hat then back to GSII screen and so on. Are there any special instructions for installation?

The OP of whatever 4.4 firmware, is always the BEST place to start.
Read everything, don't deviate or take shortcuts, and make sure that your questions are answered BEFORE flashing.
I thought when I first downloaded it that there was instructions but when I went to find and read them I cant seem to find them.

There is Renderbroken's cm11 build, and there is OmniRom. Both have installation instructions clearly labeled in the OP.

Sorry. I was refering to the cwm upgrade to cwm 4.4. Thats where I'm getting stuck. The 4.4 upgrade to KitKat wont even install without the 4.4 cwm. I have philz cwm installed currently. Running Cooked rom. Cant seem to find the instructions to install the 4.4 cwm without hitting the bootloop.

Tried installing cm 10.2 nightly but no change in cwm. Will the cm 10.2 release change the cwm to 4.4?
