Has anyone sim unlocked their phone lately? - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Ive tried 2 different services over the past 24 hours and both refunded my money after a few hours of placing the order. One claiming they simply couldnt find a code, the other blaming HTC.
I need this phone unlocked ASAP.

Did you pay full price? If you did you could request a SIM unlock
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

I did pay full price, but i keep reading that t-mobile have restrictions on giving unlock codes regardless of that fact.
Ive been scouring ebay and many of the sellers there quote that they wont unlock any US phones purchased after january 26th. WTF

Have you...uh...called tmobile?
The reason they say that is because unless the carrier unlocks it, it's now illegal. Thank your friends in wadc.

I have unlocked 3 t-mo HTC One devices, I used this guy. I got my codes within a few hours.

So, after being denied by 5 different unlockers, one of them finally told me that my phone is not yet in the htc database and to try again later. WTF htc!

Im curious why you woulod pay someone to unlock when you can request it from TMo for free?

Told me my imei is unsupported, refunded my money and told me to apply on their website.

You need to have a tmobile account, prepaid or post paid doesn't matter.
Your IMEI number and you have to use the ohone for at least 7 days before applying. That's what they told me and now I'm waiting.

How can the Amaze be unlocked to be used on AT&T?

As simply stated in the title, how can the Amaze be unlocked to be used on AT&T? I see many sites offering "pay for unlock codes", on other android phones one can usually do this on their own.
Can this be done with the Amaze?
Thank you
If you have been a t-mobile costumer for over three months then you can call them and ask for the Sim unlock code. they will give it to you for free. just need to provide the IMEI number.

there is no unlock method for the amaze that has been generated like the samsung series, atleast yet, you would have to purchase one online.

Try doing a search...I'm pretty sure you can find quite alot of threads relating to this topic.
My brother's friend that works at AT&T said the same thing. "too new". He even said it about the skyrocket.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
might be too new regardless
Usually the carriers are happy to unlock the phone because they charge you a boat load to do it. If they are denying your money I'm not sure if any third party sites could get one from your IMEI or not either. Let us know if you find anything though. Here's hoping!

What carrier charges for unlock codes?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
cellunlocker
Just came across another thread stating codes were purchased off cellunlocker.net for around 8 bucks, it's not free, but not much at all and worth it if it works.
All canadian carriers charge for unlocking. Usually $50+
PS: I have yet to find a source to unlock mine. I'm switching to bell this week and taking my note with me I hope.

I called at&t tech support 2 weeks ago, and tried again yesterday. Both times they said no unlock codes for Note due to it being "too new."
I'm really in no rush to unlock it, although I wish it was unlocked just for bragging rights.
I'll be more concerned about unlocking it within the next 3-6 months...either to sell it or for when I'm traveling abroad.

Carriers don't charge for unlock codes. They either refuse to give it or they give it freely.
There are other companies that do charge. They are not the carriers.

As has been discussed, pay the $25 to cellunlocker.net. Record yourself on video opening their email and inputting your code. Once the phone is unlocked, send them the video. Get your money back. Free reliable unlock code from a legit source.

IIRC you have to wait for three months after getting your phone with a contract/upgrade before they give you the unlock code.
I just got the phone yesterday and am flying abroad next weekend.
if you talk to them they will work it out with u. just talk to a supervisor
I'm in the same boat, going out of the country in a week. Gonna try to get the code from t mobile this week. Do you just give them your IMEI and they give you the code? I obviously don't want to give them anything that would give away that I've rooted. I just noticed in my "device status" page it says "modified". Not sure how it knows that.

That's exactly how I did it with a BlackBerry a few years ago. I gave them the IMEI, and in return they'd sent me an email with the unlocking instructions and the unlock code. I don't think it would be any different for an Android device.
Please reply to this thread if you were able to unlock your SGSIII without any problems.

I just called in today and put in a request with no issues or questions and she said i should get the code by email in 24 hrs unless they have some problem getting it from the manufacturer. We'll see.
Yea I've done that multiple times with T-Mobile. Even with a phone that wasn't my actual registered phone. They don't really care..
I switch phones alot and even if I did not purchase the phone from them, they would unlock it. Just give them the IMEI number and within 24hours, it will be in.your email. This only works every 3 months though, I have tried different times with it being not 90 days yet and get shot down everytime. Go to cellunlocker.net if you need it fast. Enter."android50" for a 50% discount. Its usually instant to your email.
I just spoke with T-Mobile about this.
First they said that they can only unlock phones that have been registered to the account for at least forty days. I pressed on and said that I need to use it for business abroad. That helped and they took down my IMEI and email address.
But afterwards they'd said that if they don't have the unlock codes internally, it will take up to 14 days to get it form Samsung.
I'm leaving in a couple of days and would prefer to unlock it myself.
Is there a software unlock solution we can do on our rooted phones?

International sim unlock wasn't approved

So I went the international chat section of the Sprint website. I got in touch with a rep who looked into my account.
They said that the sim unlock need to be requested as I've unlocked my phone once in 12 months. My previous phone was an HTC One, which I called for unlocking in 6/2013.
Anyways, the request was put in..
I got an email back today stating that it wasn't approved.
This email is intended to confirm that your request to unlock your device has been received by our Back Office group and has been reviewed.
Unfortunately at this time we are unable to complete your device unlock request. The policy only allows one unlock within a 12 calendar month period. Since a device has already been unlocked during the past 12 months, no additional unlocks may be processed.

How would I go about unlocking the sim since I need to use it on my trip to Asia? Without calling Sprint.

You can't, Sprint has to do it. It makes no sense to me to deny unlocking because you decided to get a new phone. I would e-mail [email protected] and [email protected] and tell them what's going on. If that doesn't get it solved, nothing will.
So the really sucks. If you buy a Sprint phone at full price, then want to unlock it, they won't if you already have asked them to unlock a phone within a year.... That's bs

Not sure if that will work. It might? I think either you have to be a Sprint Customer for a certain amount of time or you have to have the phone on your account for a certain amount of time.

I've used Swiftunlock several times and the last time I used it on my TMO S5 it was 19.99. I couldn't find it for a better price from someone trust worthy. It was not swift, however.
Many people have had TMO unlock their device. You have to call and catch the right person and be very persuasive.

You can always simply call T-Mobile and ask for the unlock code. If they question the reason why, you can state that your going to vacations over sea's or etc.. and want to use the phone with the local service provider.
Usually if your with T-Mobile for a long period of years they will simply give you the unlock code with no questions asked upon request. That's usually what I do when I get a new phone from T-Mobile, call them and ask them for the unlock code. Never had a problem.
I haven't used any 3rd party service , but its good to know if in case someone asks.
