Unable to boot into recovery mode before rooting - Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500

Im unable to boot my galaxy 5 into recovery. I hav not yet rooted the phone.
The screen shows the "Downloading" icon only. I waited for half an hour but nothing happend. Shud i wait for a longer time???
Please help!!!

When it says DOWNLOADING its in the download mode for the odin tool on the pc to connect. You can't boot into the CWM mode when you have no root. In order to root your device use the app called androot universal. Its not on play store but you can find it in the internet. To boot into cwm you have to install it over the download mode (ask google)

Actualu you can boot in recovery without root.
It can be done vith adb.
You can also flash CWM without root. But many options in CWM don't work(install zip from sdcard work)
So yoou can enter recovery without root, flash mew recovery, even you can install custom rom without root.

Get a stock rom from sammobile.com for GT-I9300 and flash it through Odin.

Did you wipe Data and Cache and Dalvik before flashing CM10?? Id recommend that if you didnt, try holding recovery buttons for 12 secs should get you into recovery, if not then reflash CWM recovery zip via ODIN and try again, If all else fails then you will need to flash rom via ODIN then flash new rom in CWM recovery

Detailed Guide CWM,ROOT,UNROOT For Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro GT-I8552
Hi..
As Rahul has already posted about rooting, unrooting but i c still people having problem.
So,here is detailed guide for it with latest Superuser and binaries
==========================================================================================================================
CWM RECOVERY v6.0.3.6
Flashing With Odin
Install USB Drivers of your Device and remember an odin flashable file is supposed to be in .tar or .tar.md5 format only.
DOWNLOAD SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS
Lets Begin :-
1. First be sure USB Debugging is checked in ur device ( Settings>Developer Options>USB Debugging )
2. Extract the Odin file from the zip.
3. Open Odin3 (Run As Administrator).
4. Put your device in download mode. To do so, press Volume Down And Home And Power Button all together and when it vibrates release
Power Button but keep pressing left ones. You should have a triangle with an android janitor while it's saying downloading ..
VOL UP TO CONTINUE...
5. Now connect USB to PC ,you should see a blue rectangle with COM:xx and saying Added. It means that your device is ready to be flashed!
6. Go into the PDA section and select your .tar file.(CWM Recovery)
7. Dont check any option (F.reset time and Auto reboot are checked by default) So just uncheck Auto Reboot.
8. Now click Start.
9. When it's finished, it should say that "Res OK" in Odin..
10. Now remove ur USB and remove ur battery and put it back and go to Recovery Mode (Volume UP And Home And Power Button all
together and when it vibrates release Power Button but keep pressing left ones).
GUESS WHAT :- U r in CWM Recovery
NOTE :- Never click reboot recovery in advanced option in CWM Recovery it will cause bootloop or factory reset from phone settings do factory
reset from CWM Recovery,if by mistakenly u got bootloop just flashed CWM Recovery again.

ODIN says 'pass' but phone isn't rooted

I'll make this quick.
I'm trying to root my Sprint Note 3 using ODIN. Everything within ODIN works fine. I get the 'pass' notification. At first I tried booting into Clockwork Mod Recovery, but the screen just said 'no command' with the normal options to 'reboot system now', 'apply update from USB' and so on.
So then I tried TWRP and it's the same thing. I checked and I'm not rooted. I don't get it. I have all the proper drivers. Everything is just as it is in the video I'm following to do it. Can anyone help?

---------- Post added at 06:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:43 PM ----------
You probably need to move this to the Q&A section before the mods do.
Rooting and custom recovery are two different things. Rooting will not get you a custom recovery installed: like twrp or cwm. Please mention the steps and source of your root flash.
Sent from my GT-I9152 using xda app-developers app
Once you let Odin do its thing, the next step is to install a custom recovery. The easiest way that I have found to do this is to install goomanager from the market, hit the settings button then tap on install open recovery script. You should be good to go from that point.
Thanks to everybody for their replies. I actually just used the Kingo method and I'm rooted now. Thanks again.

No proper root access on my Samsung Galaxy Core Duos GT-I8262

Hello! This is my first post about a problem with my phone which I have been facing. So here it goes........
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy Core Duos GT-I8262 using iRoot application from my Windows PC but when I check using Root Checker it says, "Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device." I tried to root again using the Kingroot app from my phone but still Root Checker displays the same message. I can use some features of root like hacking a few games and I can use the Xposed Framework Installer app too to change the UI of my phone but I can't flash any custom ROMs, neither it would flash using Odin nor my phone loads to recovery mode using CWM or TWRP, it only loads the default recovery mode when I press Volume Up+Home+Power Keys from where I can wipe Dalvik cache and hard reset my phone but can't flash any zips. After that I tried unrooting which is not possible even. I tried every possible thing I know but nothing would work. Please help me out here!
NOTE: There is a yellow triangle exclamation mark when I turn on my phone and also there are SuperUser and Kingroot apps in my app drawer.
Reflash stock rom. Then when software update asks to register your device, do not register it otherwise it will install updates which will close all the gates to root your device. Then download framaroot 1.9.3 apk and then choose root root from drop down menu and click on gandalf. It will properly root your drvice
