Hey guys i have a question and no I dont have the jb update(am in india).
Did any of you try press the menu key(long press multitasking button) while in settings>storage .There should be an option to lead you to a menu that has an option to toggle between mtp and ums by default its mtp.
this is from my experience on another device. Can someone try it and either confirm or deny this. Thanks:good:

no doesnt work in ics stock rom donno about jb though..

you can read some general android changelogs before complaining... I cant wait for zounds of ppl complaining about mtp protocol (mark my words... )

If you connect your device with usb into the pc a couple drivers will install, after that there is a new media device called ''HTC Desire X'' in my computer. You can drag and drop your files there as usual

I know about ics but since ums works on ics and there is no mtp protocol there is no reason for this to be enabled hence Im asking if anyone tried it in jb.

Hi,
I've tested this solution but it doesn't work with linux ( ubuntu ). It seems that it does not work on windows either
My hboot is 1.25.0002 (JB hboot)
Does anyone have a real solution to solve this problem ?
Thank you for your answers...

Simple Solution
Mobile network sharing --> USB --> Internet pass-through
JB Desire X now connected as USB mass storage on PC .
I was using myONEdx+ RC3.0 and DEODEXED Stock Rom -- Wi-Fi channels 12 and 13 could not be detected : (

usb launch manager

hello devs
i wonder why we don't have USB Launch Manager (if i can name it like that) when plugin our usb to the computer to choose like sony ericsson , motorola and htc android phones ???
i mean : mass storage, charge only, pc internet ......etc
Can you our experts do that for us ? is it possible?
That reminds of my old samsung corby
But if u manually want to enable sdcard mount on pc then go in settings->apps->developer->usb debbuging
and then connect phone to usb, drag notification bar down, click on usb mass storage and then turn on
don't think it's a long way to do that every time you want to change btw kies and storage while other products do this with a single touch ???

Its not possible then
i'm not a programmer .. but isn't it a file which is responsible to do this process that we can manipulate it to work with SG s2 since all products run Android ?

[Q]How to enable USB Storage on JellyBAM 3.0.0

I'am using JellyBam for quiet a while, and cant use the USB storage option other way then through the recovery.
At first I thought its a bug, but i'ts now the 3.0.0 STABLE version, and still when I plug the phone to my PC, the USB Storage option doesn't pop up.
Am I doing it wrong or something, or is it really impossible to mount USB storage through this rom?
What u already tried?
Did u activate "USB debugging" in settings>dev?
Did u flash another kernel?
What the main thread of JellyBam says, did u already ask there?

Hi Vad88,
As Hannibal226 said, you should be posting this in the main Jelly Bam thread here.
Here, many doubts will be posted mainly on the technical issues not on specific to some Custom ROMs.
BTW, here is the solution for your question.
Goto--> Settings--->Storage-->Menu(press this on your phone),
then a popup shows up saying, "USB computer Connection", select that, in that link, you'll get some options.
There you need to tick on "Mass Storage".
That's it, you are done. now whenever you connect your mobile to computer, a notification shows up, USB storage as we used to see in Stock ROM. From there you can drive yourself for connecting the mobile to system & explore the phone storage contents.
Regards,
Hereticnine.
hereticnine I LOVE YOU
really I will have your children
I cant ask in the main JellyBam tread because its in the development forum which I cant write in, because I have less then 10 posts, I searched there and couldn't find anything.
Thanks hereticnine, I followed your instructions and it works!
Appreciate the responses! :good:

JellyBAM has so many options combined, a quick thing like this can quickly become quite the scavenger hunt.
Even though this post is old, google still uses it to help people like me.

[Q] [ROM 4.2.2] JELLYBAM [v6.4.0] [MiXED - PARANOID - AOKP - CM10.1 - CARBON]

Switch to USB Mass Storage Mode as default - Could anyone kindly teach me how to do it at this new rom ? only connected as MTP media which is not user-friendly when I copy videos to external sd card.
I tried to search "mass storage" within the thread but no answer for that.
did the jellybam thread just vanish?

did they move to another forum?
I wonder why, is it because he is accused of taking element from other roms again? I say who cares, his latest release is so perfect on S2, the roms that may accuse him have issues with their roms, his rom has no issue, therefore that is different enough for me!
He has his own website anyway: http://www.modmydroid.net/jellybam/

This is BAD .... Really BAD...
Taking element from other roms is not bad if you First ASK DEV permission and mention his name on your Change Log.

What a pity then, because either way, his 6.4 rom is more stable than those roms that he has incorporated features from.
There are certainly some elements of this "open" development community I do not comprehend that's for sure! Glad I'm a user and not a rom compiler!

Which HBOOT version are you on? I suppose ICS. Is that correct? If yes, follow instructions on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40241468&postcount=214. Those worked for me. Make sure the hTC drivers are latest with MTP driver installed and you have full root using flar2's method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2136815.
One more thing, Step 5 in ckpv5's guide is very important. This will not work if you are running Multi Mount app from App Drawer. You have to add Multi Mount Widget on desktop and click that widget to mount your SD card.

Hes pointing out that this forum has rules, you have agreed to obey them, and you right now broke first of them (and its first, because it makes sense, not because its bull****), youre most likely here just to solve this problem and not participate any further, so you dont care if you and others like you flood forum with ten topics regarding EXACTLY same problem. So use that search button, its easy. Or read some general android changelogs before complaining about USB MASS STORAGE missing (why these 3 words in capitals, its not acronym, only USB is...)
+ at least try to type name of thread in english
Multi mount working for me on Jb on ICS-HBOOT
as I followed the steps for flashing the Rom and sd card workaround exactly how ckpv5 guided
multi mount app from market works.. i tried it and worked...when you install it you have to add a widget on the screen from this app and i think on one point you have to reboot..
just try it with patience dont install it and not try everything if you have no success just tell me i ll write a full guide here so everyone will be happy..

It's not working for me. Widget is telling to connect USB / touch to close but when connecting to PC Windows is connecting via MTP - but no change of Multi Mount widget. 'MTP fix' option is checked.
Your support (or the announced guide) would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
today i ll have my pc...till night.. so i ll write a step by step guide to get usb storage mounted
sorry for taking me too much to right this but i hope it will help you!

[Q] No mobile network and missing MTP <-> USB mass storage option

hi all, im new here, but i know how to flash things...
so, as the title said, i have 2 question (or should i say, problem);
1. no mobile network - i have tried all i know, restarting phone, remove the simcard then insert back, wipe data/cache but nothing happen
2. missing MTP<->USB mass storage option - yep, i need this since there are problem that require me to copy all file back, example;
when using MTP, my music file only show 200 when my file is 500 actually, thus i need
to use USB mass storage
FYI, im using OmniROM "omni-4.4.2-20140103-i9100g-NIGHTLY" for my GT-i9100G
thanks~
EDIT : wanna add more question, in Cyanogenmod, under Setting > development there is a n option to rename our device from "android-somerandomnumber" to "our desired name"...the question is is this option only available in CM? im using OmniROM and there is no that option
I think this would help you:
SG USB Mass Storage Enabler
@duykhanh187
what download ink?
@cubflyer
thanks for the suggestion, so there's no way to enable it unless using 3rd party eh?
btw, after this problem i've clean flash my phone and its working now, though there are some app that i cant install, i get this message "App not installed"...that app is awaremote 2.3, havent try others...
EDIT ; @cubflyer
your suggestion didn't work...it corrupt my external SD...have to move from SlimKat to CyanFox
