I think I just found my new radio...
Okay guys I just tried editing the update for the radio by injecting the play story and a couple other apps I like into the update itself. The file structure is incredibly similar to a phone update. Unfortunately it did not go well. As it was updating it started to work but then the dead android icon appeared like a E: signature verification failed but it did not say that. I am only an amateur but it seems like we need a custom recovery or a way to adb either wired or maybe by wifi? I'm here to learn too so please any input would help.
Any updates on this? I love my new 990HD but would love to get Play Store or at the very least TunedIn and Google Maps running!!
I've started pledge thread in order to get some attraction for obtaining a root.
Check it out here.

Nobody installed this update ?
Curious to see what's added (or rather gone) in this build!
But very very curious if it includes a different radio. Can someone post which radio version it comes with?
Works on epf30 too.

Did you update from EPF30 to FRF91 with this update ? Really ?
google goggles and amazon mp3 were removed (but can be added again via market)
as for epf30:
are you REALLY sure? did you try it? i heard from various people, that it didnt work for them...
if someone gets the ota for their epf30 please make sure to run this:
How to get the URL for the OTA zip the following way:
Run logcat on the pc and accept the update on the phone
$ adb logcat > logcat_accept.txt
This will sit like this (it continues to log output into the output file) until the phone reboots. At that point, the adb logcat job will terminate, and the name of the zip file will be indicated in the logfile in a message similar to:
W/SystemUpdateHelper( 64): !!! REBOOTING TO INSTALL /cache/
You should see a link in the file like https://android.clients.google.com/u.../partner/*****

Right, the mentioned update does DEFINITELY NOT WORK for updating the EPF30 build to FroYo (tested on a EPF30 device).
Hello, I am running a miui 1.12.23 ROM with the latest syriah kernel and when I first tried to find grand theft auto on the marketplace I couldn't see it.
When I flashed my phone back to stock and searched again, I found grand theft auto and downloaded it.
I couldn't live with the stock ROM and went back to my syriah/miui combo and when I returned to the marketplace I cant see my gta to download anymore.
I tried market enabler (no use). How does the market detect your phone and how can I make it think I'm using a stock phone.
HELP! (Merry Christmas and a happy new year in advance)

Have you changed the DPI on your screen (I believe stock is 240?). People who change it report apps not showing up in the Market, just like you. If you have, change it to normal, get your apps, then change back.
Change my resolution how? I only just put the default miui settings that came with the ROM. I did install chain fire 3D but I never saw a resolution option.
How is it that when I log into the android market website it doesn't say I own a I9100? Is there not some utility that can change this?

Okay, so we can rule-out the resolution problem..
Did you try using the 'fix Market' option in Chainfire3D?
"Yes", I did use the fix market option but "No" it didnt make GTA appear on the marketplace.
Its like the GTA game has a "only for stock roms" marketplace agreement option that stops custom roms like mine from seeing it to download. I can see all my other purchased titles like shadowgun and asphalt 6 and stuff.
This is doing my head in.

Well I'm running CyanogenMod 7, and I can see it, so I doubt it's that...

I don't think the kernel is the issue, but I'm running SiyahKernel 2.6.2.
I don't see anything there that'd be causing the issue, to be honest with you - more than likely, it's something that you've changed.
How did you go with the wipe?
Screamworks I wiped my phone and put good old cyanogenmod 7.1 on and I can see everything on the marketplace now.
Obviously soemthing to do with the ROM/Kernel combo..... I cant say which with more detail as my kernel changed to:
2.6.35.7-g1e46077

Anyways, thanks for your help Screamworks.

Yeah, it could have been any number of things.
On an unrelated note, if you've got the time, I recommend you check out SiyahKernel

The search box at the top of the page is always quicker to answer questions, and less likely to get you flamed for starting a new thread.
I searched for "chrome beta apk" and this is the first thread in the results...

Is it correct in your build.prop? I assume that its where google play reads the version info from.

Where can I find the build.prop? ... Settings -> Phoneinfo-> Android Version = 4.0.3
You must be superuser and look info /system folder.
You can open build.prop with any editor, but be careful.
Same problem happen here . hmm. ? are LCD density effect google play?
I've had a user email me about an issue and would like to direct them to send me the logcat output from their phone.
I've been investigating apps from the market such as sendlog, logthis etc. (they all seem to do the same job), but when testing they only seem to send a couple of lines from /dev/log/main, which is useless.
Example of all "logthis" seems to give:
System Environment Information----
Device Brand: Google
Device Name: Galaxy Nexus
OS Version: 4.1.1
Kernel: Linux version 3.0.42-cyanogenmod-g5359e53 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Sep 10 23:54:55 PDT 2012
Product: yakju
Board: tuna

It seems like what I really need is the output from /dev/log/system, rather than /dev/log/main. Is there an easy way to get these apps to send full logcat style logs, i.e. stacktraces of when an app force closes and other debug?
Jellybean introduced a new log permission which will break all these log apps. Apps can now only access their own logs. I need to update the description. I'll post with more info in a few hours.
Sorry

Aha, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for clearing it up. If the user having the problem isn't running Jellybean perhaps he can still send me some logs.

I have a new computer (actually two), and I'm setting up the Android SDK right now. I'll be testing what you say soon.
If they install it as root (I'm not that good with stuff with root, I've been trying to write some root scripts that were supposed to go in the next version but they don't seem to work) it might work, but I doubt that's a scenario you'd like to have them go through. If they know how to root it isn't much to ask them to open logcat themselves.
Now, if someone made a desktop app that was like 1 click logcat, that'd be cool (a bit impractical)...

guys it looks as thought it's just another 4.1.2 update according to SamMobile...
EDIT: since you can't really see the picture, I'll post the URL and you guys can go look yourselves.
Also, don't get me wrong, I appreciate any new ROMS for the i605, but I, and maybe others, thought this was a 4.2.2 update, which it may be, but according to SamMobile, it's not.

No problem. I definitely didn't mean it in any disrespect, I just know for me that I was confused and was excited for a 4.2.2 TW build that leaked when I saw it.

yeah, I'm building cm10.1 myself, it's pretty much like the nightlies until I figure out how to cherry pick, lol. Once they drop 4.2.2 I'll definitely be switching back to TW roms, but for the time being I'm quite enjoying learning how to build/compile an easy rom like cm10.1 since sbrissen has gotten it official for the i605.
I'm also trying to learn to build/port other roms to our phone, but I keep running into snags.
