Can I get a ROM recommendation? - HTC Rezound

I've been out of touch with the forum over the last 6 months and I know rom selection and features change fast here. I tried searching through the forums and it was overwhelming trying to pick a rom. I'm not TOO picky but here are the features I'm looking for (not sure if they are all available for our phones):
-AOSP or Sense, doesn't matter to me
-It would be nice to have Google Now
-wifi tethering
-ability to connect bluetooth gamepad (wii, ps3, etc)
-OTG for mass storage (do we have this?)
-MHL for HDMI output to a monitor
-Something that is good with battery conservation
I know these are sortof broad, but i think those are the main features I'm looking for at this point. Is there anything that has these features 'out of the box'?
Thanks guys!

I would recommend Tron or Infection both made by neo I have never had much problems with these and they are oh so fast, yet they have great battery life. Tron is a Pacman Rom and infection is cm10.1 and did mention these are fast?

Neither one supports MHL..
The only roms that support MHL are the Sense 3.6 based ones and Sundream's Sense 4.0+ rom.

I dont imagine MHL (edit: i meant OTG) will be a huge necessity, but it would be nice to have. Is MHL (edit: i meant OTG) necessary for me to plug any usb device up to the micro-usb port? I'm talking a wired keyboard, or a wired USB gamepad. Or is MHL (edit: i meant OTG) only for mass storage?
Also another question, on the sense roms, will it hinder my ability to bluetooth a gamepad such as a wii controller or ps3 controller? Or do i need to stick to roms without sense at all?

From your original post... - MHL for HDMI output to a monitor - that's all it's for.

Crap i'm an idiot i blanked out and confused OTG with MHL. MHL isn't necessary at all, just a perk. OTG is what i was curious about with USB device connectivity, sorry.

I have no idea about OTG but can recommend EclipticRez as a super smooth sense ROM. I think there's a desensed option on install as well.

I am currently running a Rom called fish paste while I am waiting for neo's infection 2.5 and its a sense/touchwiz hybrid (looks just like touchwiz but has BAMF tweaks and settings) and I have no problems what so ever using my ps3 remote so I'll make an educated guess and say other sense roms will play nicely with it but I'm not positive. Also like the other poster said EclipticRez is also a solid choice. I am not sure about OTG for any of these I tried to look through the posts of neo's Roms, and fish paste and found nothing about it.

Thanks! I'll be digging into it this weekend and reading about whats new for our phones. I'm assuming its still the same process of flashing stuff to our phones as it was 6 months ago?

Yeah still the same, just follow the devs instructions if you are not sure about something. Also you think you could say what rom you flash after you do it? I'm just curious, I'm always looking for new ones myself.

I'm currently using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981952
Its sense 4+ and based off of the One X so you can use themes by the virtuous team. Haven't had any problems running on GSM. It's been reported that MHL works but I don't have the cords to test.

I would say go with Infection 2.5. Its a AOSP rom, thats fast and stable, i been using it since it came out and alot of issues are fixed. as for OTG, im not sure if that would work. Dont have one handy to try out. Either way go ahead and download it and flash it. If its not what your looking for then take a look at EclipticRez and flash that and try it. Like MHL Im not sure if you have to have sense in order for OTG to work. Could be a HTC thing and not so much a google thing. But that the nice thing about flashing, if you dont like it, drop it and move to another rom till you find one you like and will fit your needs

[Q] bluetooth remotes (wii and PS3)

I know the wii remote works, looking for something with more buttons for psx and n64 emulating. Used the search button for hours, and heard people getting it to work, but no cold hard evidence.
I am willing to shell out some cash on this one for once. Either that or i'll be investing in a PSP for portable emulation.
Pretty sure ps3 controller isn't possible yet. But if you're looking for more buttons, just use the classic wii controller. Or the pro version or whatever. Not the most portable option. But definitely gives you more buttons.

Definitely not true. The fascinate doesn't have any sense roms. What is required is HID support. Which for the fascinate, only miui and maybe aosp and cm7 alpha. I have only tested on miui. But I know no current SC or darkrevenge can use it.

Damn so my options are either have a phone with some sweet retro gaming, or have working mms and camcorder? Situations like these are why I keep telling my wife I need two phones...

Yeah there was a thread about this a while ago. Only aosp based roms have HID support. So basically we have to wait for source if u want to use one of those roms and have everything working.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
why cant such support be ported to a tw rom? cant things like this be just a issue of transferring drivers.. i know its prob more difficult than that, but i just want to understand it better.
HID bluetooth profile for fascinate???
So I just happened to have a similar issue. I really wouldn't have opened the wound but this was last hit on about 8 months ago. Now my fascinate has the gingerbread update... the 2.3.5 update if you will. As anticipation has failed us, they did , again, fail to include a bluetooth profile that supports HID devices.
I have read about CM's mod cm7.1 supporting this profile, but my situation is a little bit more unique.
I just purchased the Brookstone roll up keyboard (bluetooth) and can recognize it but obviously won't pair or connect. I have tried a number of apps that claim to give you smoother function and better bluetooth support, but as with any good app, Google has stripped it of it's gems.
as mentioned I have only read briefly that cm7.1 is a rom able to make this happen.
My question now is, after 8 months, has anyone found a solution to the HID bluetooth profile issue, and if it requires rooting, how do you do this ... using ubuntu...
... be gentle (I just watched the noob video)
Sch-1500 2.3.5 Stock I need this for portability

wiimote support [request]

I know sense and touchwiz (htc/samsung) phones dont support the proper bluetooth profiles for controllers like ps3 or the wiimote, but i believe we should band together and do a bounty for someone to develop such a method (kernel?) that allows for them to connect.
currently im on cognition beta 4 for galaxys2 att, so if i can stay on cognition and be able to connect to ps3 or wiimote id be forever happy!
Works on cm7

Sure does. Personally used and loved it. (Before I bought a dual shock 3)
It works because CM7 , being an AOSP ROM, actually uses a standard BT stack. (Come on Samsung!)
With that said, I'd be in extreme favor of any Dev who could mod Samsungs BT stack to work with the Wiimote.

Ohhh yeah it does, I remember reading that. The only problem is you cant use MHL Tv out which is pretty much the whole reason I would want Wiimote support, haha. I did hear though that ICS's Bluetooth stack is modified to work with the Wiimotes, so once that rolls out, we could have both. but. only time can tell :\

Doesn't work over here for me..
I just ran across a thread in the i9100 forums that said it now works on stock CM9 but I can't get it to go.
Even if I manually enter the address of my Wiimote in Wiimote Controller, instead of the BT PIN code screen popping right up, now I get a notification in the notification bar that I have a pairing request. Clicking the notification just brings up the PIN code entry screen.
I guess both the Wiimote and MHL are working for the i9100 with CM9 and the Samsung stock ICS but doesn't work for me on the i777.. I haven't tried the latest ATT ICS leak but I may give in and try it tonight after work..
i777 CM9-based kernels cannot pair with a Wiimote yet due to unavailable kernel sources. Also, the leaked official ICS firmware can.

I gave the latest ATT leak a try (im on it now actually) and its still the same. WiimoteController is still asking for a PIN to pair with the controller.

I can't remember which leak I was using... I thought it was LD3. It was right before it was announced that they were responsible for hard bricking, I think. I know it was before Task removed them from the post he put them in.

Wii Remote Compatibility

I currently have a Droid X and I plan to upgrade to a Rezound this June. Anyway, one of the things I love most about my X is syncing my Wii remote to my phone and using it with my video game emulators. I've heard however that the wii remote isn't compatible with Sense. Has anyone figured out a way to make it work on the Rezound yet?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA
Sense removes a lot of protocols for bluetooth functionality. It is deep in sense and to re-enable it requires a custom kernel and custom bluetooth stack, which basically means no one bothers. The hardware can use it no problem, but the software does not. Once we have AOSP, Wii remote functionality will work natively. At this current time, we do not have any options for Wii Remote on rezound.
What about this? http://www.theandroidsoul.com/htc-rezound-aosp-ice-cream-sandwich-rom/
It appears to be an AOSP "senseless" ICS rom. If I flash this would I have my wii remote capabilities again?

you would have wifi and data for senseless rom's
However i don't think senseless would provide what your looking for.
You will need a true native asop rom and kernel, people are working on these but it will take time.

nope, but knock yourself out trying. That is based on the leaked ICS RUU which is sense based. Real AOSP roms are not sense based. That one will have the same bluetooth stack as the stock rom.
Until someone gets RIL working on AOSP, the rezound will not control a wii remote.

Tv-out

Hi guys
I bought a tv out cable over ebay recently tho it hasnt arrived yet.. i just wanna know if anyone has used a rom that they can confirm works with tv out. Cm7 would be preferred. Im aware there is a kang of cm7.2 with tv out working but the link and thread are dead so if anyone can post it, ill love you forever.
On a side note, does anyone know for a fact that my wiimote will not work with n64 on cm7 or the vibrant?
Thanks in advance guys

As long as you are using a non-Samsung ROM/kernel, the wiimote should pair just fine. You will have to download an IME app for it from the market though. I can't remember what the app was that I used. Search for wiimote and that should get you what you need.
I had it running back in the days when GB roms on the vibrant were being released here. Made playing Mario 64 a lot easier than with the on screen virtual buttons

Last I checked it lacks Hardware acceleration though so beware. If you are to try to play any video that is 480p or higher it probably won't play.
For example if you try to show the videos you just took with your phone in the big screen (like I had tried) it won't work, so you can say it's a bit crippled version of TV-out. If you want true TV-out you have to try Froyo derived roms ... sadly.

In general, HDMI does not work except in stock(ish) Sense-based ROMs. It is just an accepted fact, that is why it probably wasn't specifically mentioned.
