[Found answer] Is this phone unlocked to go onto AT&T? - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

With AT&T getting new plans apparently next month (if they are good), I may check them out since they have LTE in my area. Will this phone work since I bought it at full price?
Edit: Think I found my answer

What is your answer i am interested too friend

No. It is carrier locked to T-Mobile.

If you pay full retail all you have to do is fax in a copy of the receipt and TMO will provide the unlock code within 5-7 business days. Usually takes about a 24hrs though.
Not sure if you can even find a TMO One right now, it seems like they are in pretty short supply.

You can try us if you can't get code via T-Mobile. Please PM me if interested

I paid full price for 2 and they refused to give me the unlock code. they said I had to wait till I completed 40 days of service. or unless you were a member with more than 40 days of service they will the unlock code with 2 or 3 days.
they said they would unlock mine at the end of the month, because that is when I would complete my 40th day,
I was very upset, I called over 5 times, refusing to wait, they said it is computer generated, I paid $620 for each, was $579 plus tax, I told them I paid about $1300 I should not have to wait, I had them put there supervisor on, the manager, I was very pisssssed off, that really makes me want to leave them,

Unfortunately I don't think you understood what I was saying. Full retail is $650. The $580 price you paid is the discounted price "with a qualifying plan" contrary to popular belief TMO is still discounting phones to customers. One price with a plan and Full MSRP without an account or service. It is full MSRP without service in which you should be eligible for the subsidy code, not the discounted price "with an eligible plan". It is the service and discount that is causing the problem/delay.
Sorry if what I said confused you or misled you that was definately not my intention, I was just informing of the policy I am aware of. Its possible that too has changed but as of a couple weeks ago it hadn't.
I would look on the international m7 page I thought I saw a thread about unlocking the other day.

I think you have it wrong. The 32Gb unlocked HTC One is 579, which is the correct model to compare. I think that is the same as all the other 32Gb models, and i believe that is the retail cost. Of course with T-Mobile one has to pay taxes.
Full retail is 650 for the 64Gb dev model.

I don't have any idea what the 32g unlocked version cost or the 64 for that matter. I have no doubt you are right on that pricing, but the phone we were discussing was the T-Mobile HTC One sold through t-mobile direct. Which I am pretty confident of the pricing. T-Mobile also sells a locked Nexus 4 for 427 before tax. Bet you can find it cheaper through google. What I am saying is that there are 2 independent prices on the HTC One through The-Mobile depending on how you purchase it...."with a qualifying plan" and "full retail" which when this thread started was $580 and $650.

I bought one through the store, the price advertised on the internet on tmobiles website was 579, after tax came out to 620... I did join the family plan, I had to order it on the 24th through one store and they mailed it, then 2 days later another store had them in stock and picked up my second for the same price.. paid on the credit card straight out 579 plus tax 620.. the other one paid cause the mailing process 140, then paid it out when I received it when to the tmobile store and paid the rest off..
they didn't have no 64gig, att and sprint had them for 549 I believe, htc.com had the 64gig for 649. if tmobile had the 64 gig I would've bought one for me, and left the wifey with 32 gigs.. haha.. I thought that was regular price at tmobile for 579...
I didn't want the hassel of having problems cause tmobile changed one of there frequencies for the new lte.. cause 2 months ago they screwed everyone using att phones that put the phones at 2g services. I made my own s3 rom from the tmobile phone that had in the modem properties gsm and wcdma, so I used to get 4g, so I sold my sg s3 and s2 which were att models.

The only high price I saw was through Best Buy, who wanted $699 to buy just the phone on pre-orders. I did not realize that there was a "full price" listed on T-Mobile at 650. I was offered the phone for 579 if I wanted to buy it all at once.

AT&T Xperia $350 OFF-Contract?

I was on the AT&T site and apparently the xperia x10 is only 350 off contract. Doesn't that seem a bit low? makes me wonder if it is a mistak. has anyone tried buying it at this price from a store?
(Link : http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...ony+Ericsson+Xperia+(TM)+X10&q_sku=sku4840223 )
If this is true, then I am mad.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought it for 550.............
That is currently the average price on ebay but the ATT version come with a 2gb while the other versions comes with 8Gb or 16Gb
The price of computers depreciates considerably faster than that of other products. This should be common knowledge to those who have purchased or had purchased for them a computer within the last three decades.

Go to ATT retail store they will give you a better deal, the online website is more expensive!!
I got my X10 from there yesterday for a total of $240
$150 for phone
$75 for early upgrade fees
+ activation fees
after you get it debrand it to LAM R2BA026 and you should be set
They are talking about the no contact price. Under contact extension you can get the phone for $90 from lets talk, maybe cheaper from amazon or wire fly

I checked these sites, they are still gonna charge me for plans on check out
be glad you are only bind in a 2yr contract.
We rogers user are bind for 3 years at same price, while forcing to pay the unusually highly expensive network. But i won't complaint since their service is great.
Not saying they won't, just saying the original point off the post was about the no contact pricing, which if correct, I'd about $200 cheaper than other carpets around the world had out for at launch. What really amazes me about att its the disparity between the amount they are subsidizing among different phones. If I am not mistaken, the subsidized price of the x10 is $150, no contact price is $350? Iphone 4 subsidized is $200, no contact is what, $800+? How do they take $600 off 1 phone, and only $250 off another, when they both require the same expensive data plan?

the actual retail price at att corp stores is $300.
i was calling around to see which corp stores had them in stock and asked for the no commitment pricing to see if they matched the att website. one rep out of the three i spoke with, actually looked in the system and said $300. visited 3 corp stores in the last 2 days and all the displays say $350, but once they scan the phone, it comes up at $300.

What's a "corp store"? Just a normal retail outlet?
My best friend bought one off contract yesterday. He bought it at a Corp store and it was $349.99. Still a great deal IMO!

corp stores are the retail stores operated by at&t. use the store locator on the att website and the locations that are listed as simply"at&t" are the corp stores (as opposed to the ones listed as authorized retailer).

I heard that AT&T doesn't allow 3rd party apps to be installed.. is that true? if so, no swype for u guys
there's gotta be some catch to this right?
350 is way too low, i paid 520 for mine.
aren't there activation fees, taxes, and such?
also the phone must come locked right, so u have to use att's network and u cant use t mobile?
350 is wayy to low, especially for a high end phone like the xperia, which in my opinion looks better than the iphone 4 and will probably perform better with froyo.
What I gather is there's an activation fee and early termination fee for the no commitment option, but it's less than $100 total which is still low compared to buying it on Ebay...

no additional fees for a no-commitment purchase (it cost me $320.99 out the door including sales tax). it is locked to att and you have to be an att customer to make the purchase. i have never had a problem getting the unlock codes from att on any of my previous phones.

ReZound for 79.99

ReZound is 79.99 with an upgrade/2-yr agreement
Does anyone know if this is only online or is it also in-store...I'm planning on purchasing the phone tomorrow but the Verizon Store is far and the store is obviously closed by now (10:10pm here in South Carolina). Any help or quick response would be great! Thank you!
i believe it's online only as of now. it'll go back up in price soon, though.
Alright...dang...thanks though!
If you want the Rezound and have the contract the $79 is a great deal. I wouldn't be afraid of doing it online. When I ordered mine they even comped the shipping (I ended up having to fight for it after the fact but won the minor battle) but you can ask them on chat if there is anyway to get the shipping free. The process for activation is pretty easy. One thing to note - if you have a 4G phone that you are replacing it with - they will not send out the sim card automatically. But your local store has those and can fix most anything if things get messy.
I ordered mine online a few months ago when it was $50. Phone was here 19hrs later. Popped sim card in and away it went

The $0.01 deal doesn't exist now... glad you got the deal...
I upgraded my Son's phone to the Rezound yesterday.. $79 + $30 upgrade fee = $109 which you pay upfront. He will have the phone most likely Tuesday.
Will see how long it takes him to S-Off.... I got it 2nd try.

Got mine from Bestbuy the other day. They matched the $80 price that Verizon had. I got $100 for my Inc 2 trade in. I got $50 freedom upgrade. That means I got $80 in my pocket as I left.
I think I beat you AshtonTS.
Go to Best Buy and ask them to price match, sell the beats earbuds because they're garbage and you've paid $30-nothing for your brand new rezound!
eh i paid $250 for mine on launch day..should've been 300, but on the website it said 250 because of a loyalty discount (not new every two because i was using an annual up anyway, so it was a weird unmentioned discount..)
i go int he store, ask if they can match it..at first they say no, so i'm like "ok i'll just go somewhere else that will, or order it online"
then another guy comes over and is like, well wait, lets see what we can do...turns out they were able to match it lol so maybe you can try in a store
Here's a question:
Why do American carriers charge such obscene amounts for cell phones?
For example, I can get an HTC One X with 5000 any network text messages, 2000 any network minutes, 5000 additional minutes when calling those on the same carrier and unlimited data (truly unlimited) for the equivalent of about $50 per month with NO upfront cost for the device (it's free).
I've seen adverts in the US that still ask for an upfront fee for the very outdated HTC Inspire and price plans that are laughable.
Am I missing something?

They are greedy.
Because the United States is roughly 40 times the size of the UK. Carriers figure they have to cover more rural geography while improving speed to satisfy customers in urban areas, particularly Verizon. Then pass the costs onto us.
Glad I got to pay a penny up front for my phone, but this two year contract without unlimited data is a steep price in the long run.
You seriously don't pay anything for your phones over in London, and get cheaper prices? Holy hell.... we get hit hard here in America. :-( Always a few $100 everytime we want to upgrade, unless we can hit a great deal, and even then... buying the phones the cheapest part of the process. I pay nearly $230 a month for 2 phones. *sigh*

DNA at Walmart for $139 ($239 with $100 gift card) - in stock soon hopefully

I was so excited when I saw this I ordered 2 right away.
Link
I didn't notice until after the fact that it was not available in stock yet but this is the best deal I've seen so I'm willing to wait a little and see how it goes. I was also concerned I would not get the gift card if my purchase was not completed before December 1st but I talked to a customer service rep and they confirmed I would receive the gift card based on the order date not the ship date. They also said they estimated they would receive it in stock today which was a surprise. Sounds too good to be true but fingers crossed. So hopefully this is a good deal and I will get my phones shipped shortly.
Anyone else going to pull the trigger? Post here if you have any thoughts or additional info.

Their website ordering is odd though. The pricing is hokey, looks different than Verizon. Did VZ contact you after the order to confirm pricing?
In particular Walmart has 2G data pack for $45 where its $60 on VZ...and Walmart only shows text package of $10 /1000 texts....aren't the new VZ plans including unlimited talk and text?
Sorry, this is a nice deal but I have unlimited Data which I know will change but I don't want them effin up the order
Just curious what your experience with the order was.
Thanks!
Well...that doesn't seem like a good deal after all...the $100 gift card you get is only limited to purchases within Walmart; whereas if you buy the DNA with a $20 coupon from Wirefly, you only pay $129.99 and you have the choice whether to spend that $100 on Walmart or not.

No, VZ did not contact me after. But it did take about 24 hours through the Walmart website for "Carrier Approval". I did not change the plan. It asked me whether I wanted to switch to a Share Everything Plan and I said no. So I selected a $30 for 2GB plan for each phone. The plan already includes unlimited texting. I also have 1400 minutes but it was strange that it showed 700 minutes for each line. I'll have to check my plan after I activate both of the lines and see what it looks like.
For some reason Wirefly has just made me nervous in the past. A Walmart gift card is a good as cash to me so I'm good with that.

Yep, ordered mine this morning. i stopped by VZ store to check out the DNA first and man what a great looking phone, cant wait to get some more time on it.
The VZ rep explained to me that I would pick the 2GB but that would be my phone and my wifes plan would stay unlimited until she upgraded or I changed to a shared tier. Which I may do at the next billing cycle because it would save me a few bucks each month.
Again thanks man for this link, we shop at Walmart all the time so that $100 will come in handy!

Yep, for $600 or more. Plus I think there is only one carrier that offers a discounted monthly rate if you buy off contract vs subsidized. Our consumers are too dense to realize that they'd be better off paying full price for phones and demanding lesser monthly fees from the carriers. Everyone wants their fancy new device for relative pennies but will pay through the nose in monthly fees without batting an eye.

I noticed when I looked at the iPhone store for the US once that all the prices were under contract, where here in the UK it's buying directly with no contract. Also here you can purchase a month by month sim and you get the same deals as you do with the full on monthly contracts and they're much cheaper.
Why I was interested in the Nexus 4 was because it's £230-280 and I could get a contract of £25quid a month, cancel it any time and it's the same deal of unlimited data as the monthly version.
Sadly no 32GB version killed it for me because there is no Micro SD either.
Walmart will price match Radio Shack, who had it for $149, but only if you have a printed ad. Then you still get the $100 gift card, too.

It drives me crazy that carriers are still allowed to do this bs. All phones should come unlocked at full price from manufacturer or carrier, and carrier should have to compete for customers based on value and price of service. Unfortunately it is @ss backwards and carriers try locking out certain phones so you jump ship to get their overpriced sh1t service for the new shiny phone. They make you pay $599, sign up and cancel an hour later to use on another carrier -- truly sad
Verizon blows

I don't think most Americans would pay unsubsidized price for a smart phone. Sure, some would, but it would only take 1 carrier to offer a discount and people would jump all over it.

He speaks the truth. No one looks at total price anymore, only monthly payments. There's a good portion of the population that can't even get that right.

Has anyone successfully done this? That would be a crazy good price, making it $49. But maybe they would price match somewhere else for $199 making the price $99 instead of the $139 I paid. Either way I'm happy. My screen is dead on my Evo so I was more than ready for a new phone.
Also I looked at my account and everything looks good.
I wasn't able to find a print ad with the Radio Shack price, but they will price match any ad long ad it's not the Verizon ad, is what I was told. They said they just can't price match against VZW corporate.

Huh...is this only available through online? I bought mine from Wirefly for $129.99 and so if that price match does apply then I might as well return mine and get one again from Walmart

How long do I have to have service before I can cancel?

Hi, I have a question about canceling service with T-Mobile because they will not allow me to buy the HTC One without a plan online or over the phone and I want the specific T-mobile version. I know with AT&T you have to have service for over a month before you cancel without having to return the phone (well thats what the rule was 5 years ago as far as I'm aware when I got the iPhone 3G) Now that T-Mobile has phased out contracts altogether can I just go ahead and cancel the next day after the service is activated? I'll just pay the prorated plan price and the full price of the phone and then switch over to a prepaid plan.
I'm not sure but t-mobile customer service should be able to break it down for you. Their customer service is pretty amazing.
gooooooooooooood question
If you signed up for their new Value plans, you can cancel the next day. Because you are not tied to any more service contracts, the only obligation you have is the full balance of the phone. So once you pay off the phone, you are officially off-contract and the phone is yours (service optional). You're thinking of old Classic plans in which you need one month service before you get to keep the phone by paying the ETF. That doesn't exist anymore.
I'm sure T-Mobile has caught onto this and will change the way it works soon. I could see them doing something like charging $650 for the phone if you're a new customer then you get a credit after 30 days. Because technically the $579 is a discounted price for customers.

How do you figure that price? The unlocked 32 Gb on the HTC site was 579. Only the developer edition was 649. So it seems to me that TMO is selling them at retail.

VZW LG G2 Price Reduction - $150 on contract, $550 full retail

First post. Apologize if this is a repost, but the Verizon LG G2 is currently $50 off, for both on contract and off contract pricing. I'm considering buying it at full retail since those prices normally don't drop
Edit: I can't post the VZW link since this is my first post, but if you goolge "verizon lg g2" it should be the first or second hit.
Cheers!
I think they had to because of Amazon's $99.00 price. I complained last week and they gave me the new sale price though I no longer feel I did anything sober they probably knew the sale was coming. I should have paid the 35 restocking.

wonder would ATT match that price drop to the ones that recently bought on?
I just bought my phone 2 days ago. Will they honor that price since I am still within my 14 days?

Try should, usually Verizon has decent customer service in this regard. Besides, what do you have to lose by asking?
I will try for sure.
Called today and they credited my account for the difference. Thanks for letting us know about the reduction in price.
on the website you can get an extra $50 off if you use promo code VZWDEAL. ordered mine today for $99.99!!!!
Wow! So Sprint users are totally getting hosed. First, they have to be last to get it. They've barely been allowed to pre-order it. And the pre-order price is 199.99. If I was still on Sprint I'd be on the phone with customer service threatening to cancel my service.

Did you purchase the phone in store or through customer service?
I tried to get the reduction yesterday, but they told me it either had to be purchased in store or through customer service to price match. I bought it online, so they said I couldn't get the discount.

That's BS. I'd call ask a different rep.

Bought in store. I can't see why it would make a difference if you bought it from Verizon.

Because, depending on who you are talking to, they don't have access to the other systems. It's not universal. Ridiculous if you ask me, but is turning into the norm with a lot of businesses lately.

Thursday, the Amazon price was $119.99 vs $149.99 at VZW. I started a chat w/ VZW and asked if they could match the Amazon price. The answer was no, but he'd give me a discount code worth $50, so I ended up ordering it Thursday for $99.99 plus activation fee and tax - $137 and change. It is due to arrive Monday.
I got my G2 for a grand total of $50
Not really sure how I got it for that cheap.... I upgraded through my work place, and they said all I had to pay was $50 lol
I still feel lucky. Paid $26 from letstalk a month ago. They actually honored the price, which was shocking.

I agree. I was about to preorder it, but I decided against and I'll wait for Sprint's black friday deals to upgrade instead. My only concern is that I'm on SERO and I hope that they don't mandate some weird pricing for us to limit discounts.
I don't mind waiting an extra two weeks from the release date if it means I can save $50 (hopefully) or so. It'll make a lower resale price (like everything else on Sprint) a bit more palatable. Plus, I'm selling my 4S, so I should come out to a wash with this upgrade cycle.

It really is a shame. They're the 3rd largest carrier yet they act like they're further behind. One of the reasons I left. That and the roaming.
I just want to say that thanks to this thread I was able to get $50 worth of credit onto my account.
Plus thanks to the 30% coupon during the unlimited data glitch sale I paid ~$160. (Which included a $30 upgrade fee which will be reimbursed later due to a promotion during that time as well).
So in the end I will have paid ~$80 for the phone and keep my unlimited data!
Once again thank you so much!
