Anyone got wifi drop on sleep with XTS jellybean? - Sony Tablet S

I got an Xperia Tablet S on 4.1.1 and the wifi dropout issue has appeared.... I thought 4.1 was meant to resolve this....
If the system is screen off and sleeping for awhile, wifi is dead when I turn it back on. I do not have to reboot though (can toggle off/on).
advanced wifi lock fixes this but it kills the battery.
Anybody got any suggestions?

anyone else?

Yea its hit hard since the update didnt have any issue before got the black flickering line when the screen refreshes since the update relly not impressed with sony locking us out of the recovery
This could be a beast on a differnt kernal and overclocking
rooted lighting wildfire on unoffical j.b from benni
and sony XTS rooted stock j.b thanks djrbliss

That still happens on my S1 stock R5A. When lock, wifi turns off. Also got the black flickering lines, they shows randomly when using applications, at least not often.

Idea
I haven't noticed this problem. Could you:
Settings --> Wi-Fi --> tri-dot menu button --> Advanced -->Wi-Fi disconnection policy --> Select bottom option option
See if that fixes it?
Just a guess, may or may not work. (and may cause battery drain)

[Q] SGS2 screen stays on after notification while charging

Hi guys!
I noticed over quite a time, that while I leave my phone charging over the night, any random notofication will cause the screen to stay on until I wake up and manually turn it off.
On my galaxy s2 I have VillainRom 2.1.0 (Android 2.3.4) with ninpho's 2.0.4 kernel.
However I did notice the problem before with VR 1.4 and CF-Root kernel (didn't use anything else yet), so I figure it might not be related to this.
This is rather annoying, as I don't want any burn in effects on my screen, but there's a much worse part about it:
It's noch 100% limited to the time of being charged. If I remove the charger at 100%, play around a little with the phone and then go to sleep, some random notification (whatsapp/sms etc.) will still cause the phone to wake up and not go back to sleep mode.
What happens is, I wake up with a phone at 50% battery (at it's best!), or I don't even wake up because my phone is dead and therefore my alarm clock stays quiet..
I read about some people having this problem with their SGS1 and it might help to go to Settings -> Applications -> Development -> uncheck Stay awake.
SGS2 does not have this "stay awake" option (or I'm seriously stupid)..
Anyone an idea what I might want to try?
Best greetings, Alex
At that screen I have "Standby" and you need to have it unchecked. Also, what's your screen-off delay? You don't have any apps like screebl keeping you screen on, I assume?

I have tested with a stock rom of which I made no input and had the same issue.
Hope we can solve our problems. Cheers

mine just started doing it. i have been running custom rom for awhile now.
apps recently installed:
words free
launcher pro 806
extended controls
impossible level game
I have uninstalled:
words free
impossible level game
my issue is still happening.
when unplugged screen turns off.
I can get a text, it will light up then turn back off.
when plugged in (charging)
display will not turn off unless i press the lock button.
if i get a text the screen turns back on and stays on unless i press the lock button again.
I have recently re-flashed, complete wipe of phone and factory reset wipe.
I still have the screen on when charging and no option to disable.
I need an option to disable the "stay awake"
As my fault occurs with the phone completely reset on a stock rom it must be hardware so I am going to return it and see what happens from there.
I have flashed CM7 and there is an option to turn stay awake off.
This option is removed in DarkyRom.
Finally figured out how to turn it on or off!!!!
install the app extended controls and add stake awake as a toggle.
Turn it off!!!
then remove app
FINALLY!

Is this Android, App or Hardware

Hi Everyone,
So I noticed not to long back that my phone has been changing brightness without the brightness bar moving. For instance I unlocked my phone moments ago and my screen was very bright. I went into my brightness settings and looked at the bar was set at 60%. As soon as I touch the brightness bar the screen dims back down to where it's supposed to be.
Now I am thinking this is purely a software issue but I am still a little worried. I have a Galaxy S3 Optus AU. It is running the LF2 firmware and is not rooted or modified. I have turned off auto brightness and power saving for the screen and this problem still persists.
Has anyone else suffered any such issues with there device?

sry my fault...read to quick
hmm the only thinng i can imagine on the go is...has been your battery been on a very low amount of percentage
because i think the power saving mode is changing the brightnes on its own
No the battery was at 90% when it happened last. I have factory reset the device to see if it fixes the issue.
OK the issue is still happening. Altho I have now noticed that it happens when unlocking the phone. If I re lock the phone and then unlock it. It's back to normal.
Well...even stock firmware is not protected to crash or do sth it shouldnt do by the way
so think about a clean install of the rom or a software update this might fix your problem

[Q] Wifi toggle button greyed out

Hello,
There is a problem with enabling wifi on my Galaxy S3: How can this be reproduced on my device?
For saving battery I switch wifi on and off regulary. But after a few times this toggle button, which is available when swiping your finger from top to bottom of the screen (which is normally light green or dark grey) turns into dark green. When going to wifi settings there is a message "shutting down". So you can not choose "scan" nor "wifi direct" nor enable wifi,...
The only way to work around this, is rebooting the device.
Any suggestion to solve this in depth?
ps: I have tried with power save off (*#0011# methode) but each time after rebooting this setting is back on and wifi works (few times).
Thanks for your advice!
Regards,
Hans
It happens to me
It recently started happening to me too. I think I will blame it on the siyah kernel... what kernel are you on?
I have this problem too, running stock JB ROM rooted.

[Q] [XP] Downgrade to GB?

Hi !
I want to ask about the possibility of returning to Gingerbread on the Xperia P
Although the battery consumption is normal in ICS, I have some problems.
With stock .54 i have some problems:
- Loss of coverage
- Sometimes when you turn on the screen, I have to give it a couple of times since it was not "awake" at all (I see that the key lights are lit but the screen does).
- On a couple of occasions when the alarm sounds, no screen appeared "remove alarm" thus trying to shutdown solution, but went into a loop, so emergency restart.
- Sometimes not sound SMS notifications
- Sometimes wifi goes "bad", sometimes connected to the first, some not ...
I returned to the 544 but I still have some problems, although the performance is good, sometimes it's annoying.
The phone came with GB but update it directly, and not get to try GB
That said, should return to GB? Is it stable? Did he have bugs like ICS?
Thanks !!!!

Wifi turns off when screen is locked

Hi I just got my tablet z and the first thing i went to check out was the wifi so i noticed that the wifi radio turns off when i lock the screen for a while but then resumes right after i unlock it.. i changed the option in the wifi advanced settings to always keep the wifi on during sleep and it's not running stamina mode
am i the only one encountering this problem?
thanks!
Use Better Wifi On Off if you want more wifi management options.
Personally I prefer wifi to be turned off when screen turns off for battery drain.
I know I can use 3rd party apps
But I don't want this problem to plague my tablet
My nexus 4 rooted with faux and pa doesn't have this problem and even though it looks like the settings for keeping Wi-Fi enabled even when the screen is locked is right the Wi-Fi still turns off after a while with the screen locked which shouldn't be happening if I'm not mistaken
