hello. I saw this application that I think is very beautiful and useful, but it only works with phone and pc samsung.
Now, since we are here, we all have a samsung phone, but most of us do not have a samsung PC.
Is anyone able to make it work by changing the apk, or creating something for your computer that makes possible the use of computer samsung?

I believe that you do not need samsung pc to do that, any windows WITH the samsung side sync install will work beautifully..
My question is... Which other samsung model can/will have this feature other than the brand new S4....

samsungapp.com says that it is only compatible with samsung computer.
also there is no application sidesync available to download. Maybe you could try to extrapolate from one samsung's computer and try to install it on a normal computer.
would be nice if we could get it to work for all computers running windows....not only the once from samsung. I wouldnt mind, if samsung gives me a Ultrabook for free

NVM: The software for PC is not available yet. It comes pre-loaded on new ATIV PCs and Samsung has promised to release the software for older PCs in the coming months.

I just installed SideSync on my Galaxy Tab 2 P5100. I think it can be installed on many other Samsung devices too.
If only I could find SideSync installer for windows..
I got the app on my S3 installed but no PC app just checked the SW Update app on my samsung laptop nothing.

Same here, got an S3 and a Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook...got the app installed on the phone, but nothing available for the Ultrabook...guess it is a waiting game then eh?

Lets hope that we have some brainiacs who could either extract it from an Ativ and share it or Samsung doesn't sit back and push the update in their own sweet time.
Also, technically all Samsung Series 5,9 etc are all a part of Ativ range from the 29th of April, '13...

Damn..I just got my Series 7 early April..end of March and I refreshed the SW update app no the laptop and nothing there but yeah I hope someone puts the exe online :good:
So us with non samsung laptops are doomed forever then? Damn you Samsung. Make it a paid app or something and let's all have it. FFS.

Looks like you can DL the software from Samsung support site to your PC, but looks like the SideSync
software checks your BIOS for specific model / manufactuer tag.
I got "This computer's model or operating system is not supported by Side Sync"
However, the "Screen Sharing" app worked, which mirrors your screen onto your desktop, screenshot of XDA app.

Hey guys,
I been pretty happy with my S2 i777 which i got from US this Jan.
Currently residing in India and after getting it factory unlocked, i been using it flawlessly on my Indian carrier without any issues.
But of late i have noticed 2 problems, both with varying degrees of seriousness..
1) I casually accessed the playstore via pc and was reading up on few apps when i noticed there has been a T-Mobile Samsung GT-N7000 added to my account. (Do Check the first screenshot, the green one taken from the green tab on playstore page's left side which you expand by clicking on the '+' sign. )
Now i have never used a T Mobile phone ever and this is India where i am residing, so the probability of accessing is even more remote.
Infact, i have till date not even touched a Note mobile!
a) Any ideas what lead to that entry in my playstore's affliated device section ?
b) What precautions should i take to get the account/phone/xyz secure from my end. Present and for future??
2) I read about few apps which people were using and i proceeded to check the compatibility for one such app.. Oddly, all the affiliated devices were shown as greyed out. The msg being
This item cannot be installed in your device's country. (Check the second screenshot, the yellow one)
Now
a) Is this because i am not in USA while using the i777 / Supposed T Mobile model ?
b) How do i check the actual compatibility, circumnavigating the country specific restriction aside?

Obvious couple of questions...Have you let anyone else use your google account ? Or left your account login and password where someone could have easily got the info and used it...a family member, friend, etc. ?

Nope. I never leave my account unattended.
Secondly, the chances are even more slim as the device dubiously added is on T Mobile. I havent been to US, nor have i got any acquaintance here in India with that brand's Note.

and yes you can search the internet for a specific app's Apk if you want it

I think it may be a glitch in you rom which showed up your phone as a wrong model on playstore
You may try to login to your Google Play account. Go to My Account > Settings. From there, it'll give you the info on "all" your devices, like when it was registered. Maybe it will give you some ideas.
If you think your account has been hacked, change the password and enable the 2-Step Verification. Maybe you've already done that. Just a thought. Good luck!

I never said anything about i777 getting activated on T Mobile network.

I have changed the password already mate.
And the entries are pretty strange in my account.
The T Mobile note's entry activation time is mentioned but not the last used one. The activation time is in March but i dont think there was any chance of getting it activated due to my ignorance/slip up.
My own Sgh i777's Registeration time is mentioned as 3rd march whereas i had been using it since January.
The last used entry for i777 is messed up as well, claiming it as 20th march, n this is my reg phone.
1) Does play store take a long time to register the phone with new operator etc ?
2) If i request Google, will they supply me the info/confirm whether the T Mobile's note is being still used or not? Or something like the IMEI number .. they surely must have got some info on that...

#1 It should be really quick as far as I can remember. My 2nd device, Nexus 7, showed up in minutes!
#2 Don't know about that. I won't hurt to give it a try but my experience with Google Customer Service wasn't that good.

he said got updates and "chat heads are great" so I thought he might have got partial update to home. AFAIK new home comes in three parts. So I though he received chat part and waiting/downloading for home.

I am not able to see FBH on play, maybe its recognizing device and preventing. Then logged in to google playstore on pc, but after logging in and searching FBH page, it recognized the phone device I have and rejected saying NON-COMPATIBLE DEVICE and also said....DOWNLOAD NOT AVAILABLE FOR YOUR COUNTRY. Strange.
I am sure someone on xda will port it to many devices. I never used Messenger on facebook before. Was doing chat from main app only. But now downloaded and tested the updated Messenger and yes, the CHAT HEAD feature is nice. You can chat right over the homescreen. Playing with chat head icons is fun.
But the disadvantage is that when we are not chatting and chat heads are placed or appear on homescreen, then anyone can see our text content. Practically not good. Fingers crossed for FBH from xda pals. IF anyone shares apk we can still give it a try.
I wouldn't doubt it. Devs are probably making lovely progress as we speak.
I really liked the FBH interface and one-step ahead style, but I still wanted to ask myself....
....Do I need all the facebook all the time?....And an answer came from inside...."NO! You need phone for work."
And take a note, with so much of animations and full capture of all apps and whole device with many FB processes running in background (messenger, file upload service, active friends list, chat heads, etc), battery may get dead in couple of hours. lolz.

I haven't find anything around the net yet. I did find out the new Pilot has a radio running Android. I plan on looking into this more when I have a moment at work. I'm a technician at a Honda dealer. If someone knows of any hacks I should try, let me know. I presume any updates will be done using a USB stick so that's probably the best way in.

Same here I want to know too I just got my pilot
Waiting on someone to come out with a root on the pilot radio. I'm a 16 years Honda tech myself and pretty tech savvy. I would love to root this system and have full control of the system. I have seen that Honda is coming out with their own app store so we will see.

For anyone wondering, its running 4.2.2. It looks you can integrate with the USB ports as there is a way to install APKs with a USB drive. I would probably use a one touch root app as the method to get in.
I just stopped by a dealership to look and was poking around and found the app picker which has a browser, settings, and install from USB apps.

I just finalized my purchase of a 2016 Pilot and will have it by the end of the week. When test driving, I did notice the option to install apps via .apk files from a USB. I forgot to see what the internal storage capacity of the unit was, but I can confirm that it runs 4.2.2. I also recall seeing that it was WiFi capable, but I will have to confirm when I get it. Either way, it was a nice bonus to see that the infotainment system was running Android. I'll post again with a few more details in case anybody else is interested.
***UPDATE***
Just in case anybody cares........................the Pilot is WiFi capable. I connected to my home network and the unit installed an update. As of right now, the ability to install any app has been disabled by Honda. Attempts to install an apk via USB and the android browser from APKmirror have been negative. According to a poster at a Pilot forum, he called Honda who stated that the ability to install android apps would be added as a later update. Fingers crossed it actually happens. Many of the system options are disabled so I cannot see the storage capacity or chipset of the unit. It definitely has potential though......
I just got a 2106 Pilot Elite. When parked close to the house it connects to the home wifi. Browser works. Im definitely going to look forward to apk install too.
I did a PDI on a '16 Accord and it is running Android also. I haven't played with it more than what was necessary. I'm sure there well be some kind of usb based update like the old radios.

Would love to see someone Root this device just for fun. Wish I had the skills.
Getting access to the apps and widgets. along with potential android auto implementation would stick it to honda!

Any exploits in 4.2.2 that could be accessed through the web? Vehicle has full web browser capability through 4.2.2 browser just no access go app store or apps....
There is one or two that I know of that have some chances of working. They might require some adaptations however in order to work properly as the OS might have been modified. I'll drop by by the end of the week with an update =) .

If you need another person to test things I'm willing. I've been digging around and they locked us out pretty well. I tried using the browser to download and install an apk and it went through the process of installing and asking for permissions but then said "App not installed". There are also a bunch of apps installed that we don't see running and can't seem to access,interestingly some are labeled "Mitsubishi".

How to capture the update.zip file to share with other people:
1. Download HTTP canary app
2. Open HTTP Canary app
3. Start the update by pressing "download" and don't pause it
4. Go back to canary app and start it and it will grab the link for you

Apk pure is not opening. Blocked in india? I can try with vpn but speed will be low.
Will vpn even work.
For downloading the APK. Yeah VPN should work and the file is small. Let me check for another link.

Everyday I opened S22 plus Thread on Xda but never opened your thread. I thought someone from India must be asking a random question about update and I didnt open.

So just to be clear, if I get beta 2 update and capture it, will it work for you?
And This capturing process is tedious. I'm not even sure If I've set it up correctly and it seems like only one shot at capturing.

I honestly don't know if that will work. Since we lack people who uses s22+, we can't test it. About the certificate, it can be installed from settings. I'm trying to replicate it myself.

thanks a lot, i really appreciate someone atleast responding but for some reason the app doesn't launch and the moment i click it, a black screen comes for a sec but then the app just crashes. any ideas as to why this is being caused?

No idea. Haven't used it myself. Check that 4pda thread. There seem to be a lot of info about various different android versions etc. and what might work with them..

It's probably made for newer versions. Or there is a charging bug that might cause it - or lack of it apparently...
There is like dozens (maybe not, but a lot) of different versions there that might work on your device. You'd better to register there to see it all really...

I opened apk editor pro and i viewed the required sdk version and the minimum sdk version matches with android 3's sdk version so its probably not an android version issue but ill look into it further

hello, tysm for the respond but i tried all the apks and the moment i open some of them. it just crashes but some of the other ones they show the garmin logo but then just go black after a few seconds

i am installing on android 4.2.2, i am installing on head unit, the screen resolution is 800x480, it is in emulated storage
tell me the exact path of your device
/emulated/0/ or /storage/emulated/0 or whatever is there
if you don't know it, you can install Total Commander, which makes things easier

why will it not work
i am installing on 2022 honda crv head unit
it is android 4.2.2 head unit
840x480 resolution
landscape mode
