snapdragon battery guru vs greenify - AT&T HTC One (M7)

has it been decided yet whether snapdragon battery guru is worth a crap or is Greenify just better at hibernating apps?
Inquiring minds...

Gunny been running the guru and honestly I have been getting the same without it on my non rooted and locked bootloader HTC and same in my rooted one so I'm thinking greenify is better in my opinion
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium

I'm using greenify and sometimes it won't hibernate some user apps. I might give snap a try. I also think HTC power management saves quite a bit of battery.
Edit: just installed snap, says it needs 4 days to learn. Lets see how things go!

I actually use both. Greenify to hibernate user apps and batteryguru to handle when things get synced etc....

Greenify.
They seem to take different means to the same end, but I prefer controlling when things get synced myself. I may use Battery Guru to control Wifi or something.

I tried out Guru and to be honest, I feel like I get the best battery life with just Greenify alone. I swear the Guru generates a ton of wakelocks.

I noticed a significant performance boost on my htc with snapdragon. I get 15-20% more battery life but I also cleaned up alot of apps/system files from running in the background with all-in-one toolbox so I don't know which deserves the cred.
Cons:
Wait 4d 4h for SD to learn my usage.
SD manages my wifi and auto enables it. Hate this feature at my work since we use content filter.
Other than that its good

For me it's Greenify and it's not close. I had the Optimus G a little while back and I saw minimal difference. I am using the paid version of Greenify because it has option to hibernate system apps and a few other things that aren't in the free version. Plus he is constantly working to make it even better. I think I got 2 updates in the last 5 days. It's the only battery saving app I even consider using right now.
Sent from my HTC One using Xparent Gray Tapatalk 2

I have not used greenify but I have used snapdragon guru. I can tell you this. My battery life improved after I deleted snapdragon guru. It sucks more battery life than it saves.

All the "battery saver" apps drain your battery faster. They are a waste. Don't use them. Learn how to manage your device.

Greenify is a great app! However why not use both... I'm currently testing the Snapdragon battery guru to see if I notice a difference. To compare the two to one another is like comparing an apple to an orange.
Sent from my HTcDNAoNE

I have used greenify on my previous phone for a while. Once I got my HTC one I put it on here also. On my previous phone I did notice slight battery improvement but nothing significant. On the one I'm not sure since as soon as I got it out of the box I went to rooting and installed all my previous apps.I did however install snap dragon guru about a week ago to try it out and to me it seemed to drain my battery quicker after the learning process. I recently deleted it but stayed with greenify.

What sort of times are you people seeing with the standby and screen time? I'm curious because with root and CM 10.2 Nightlies flashed, I am on 44 hours of charge with 3hrs 24 minutes of screen time (75%) and 3% battery left. With the stock rom, I couldn't even make it past the 24 hour mark without major wake locks and battery drain over night. I also use pandora stream with bluetooth in my vehicle for about 1-2 hours a day.

Greenify by far + framework !

Does anyone have experience with this app on the ThunderBolt? I just purchased it and was really impressed with the advanced options.
I have it but I haven't used it in awhile. It helps a little, but don't expect miracles. I don't think it's worth $5. You are better off buying a spare or extended battery.
I've used it since I had the incredible use it on the droid x and now i use on the thunderbolt I've always had good results with it's always got me quite a bit of extra battery life but the same time I am using an extended battery on the thunderbolt I can push a good 18 to 22 hours and that's running 4 g consistently

This is just an unhelpful reply. Sure you can always do almost everything manually that an app does but alot of people like automation, which you generally are going to pay for. Does the App help, I used it a lot on my OG Droid and it did help, I have not installed it on my TBolt but I think I will and give it a try again, it also has a free version so give it a try and see if it help, the worst thing you have to do is uninstall it.
didnt help much for me. I am bamf 1.86 with control freak kernel and its saving batt very well.
I regret spending the money on it. Definitely try the free version. It seemed like a good idea but a few days after buying the app, I learned how to use my phone and android and ended up liking manual configuration A LOT more, and getting way more battery life without sacrificing anything I need.
Rooted Thunderbolt on BAMF Sense 3.0 RC 4 with MR2 radio and latest dreamKernel.
Sometimes it helps, but other times it kills the battery. Turning the radio on and off seems to kill the battery too.
My ADR6400L is just as good as your PG86100.
I have seen where it will fail to turn the mobile data back on without a reboot
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
I'm just wondering, does it really helps a lot? Because I'm running the free ver and it's not that effective.... does it really worth $8? I;ve been thinking this back and forth..
not much for me,
I tried JD on my TB when I got it, then paid for the upgrade, a few roms later I uninstalled it for all the reasons mentioned. Worse battery life, at times it would not re-enable mobile data. To be completely honest, once you pay for the extra stuff, you may not use it as much as you think you would (I didn't).
The competitor Green power is more user friendly, updated often and in my experience provided slightly better battery life. The "pro" version of that is less than JD and the only difference between free and PRO is the night functions. If you plug you phone in overnight, you don't need the pro version of green power.
In the end, I don't use either anymore. Once I got to know my phone I set things up manually.

Obvious total noob here. I've read all the thunderbolt reference material here and have followed a couple of tutorials on how to root my thunderbolt, but I keep finding broken mirrors. I just keep finding dead ends. Can someone point me to a current root method for this device. My goal is to try the leaked ICS rom. Thanks.
The closest I got was with revolution.
It did see my device and I was on the last step but it seemed like my rom was not compatible. There was a nice video and followed all the steps.

Welcome to the rooted club! I just joined this week myself.
I hadn't seen the all in one tool but I think I'll snag it. Revolutionary worked great for me. The only thing I had to do was temp root since I was running the .19 ROM. It was smooth sailing after that.
I'm running SkyRaider 1.3 now. I'll probably flash to ICS next month after playing with SR for a bit.
What has SR been like for you?

So far I'm digging it. It's been considerably faster and seemingly more reliable than stock. The past two years have been hateful and I wish I would have rooted a long time ago.
I'm still trying to figure out what things have changed (like what new options I have and where to find some things) but it's been a fairly easy ride. I did have to flash twice to get it to work but now it seems to be solid.

I just started using the thunderbolt and is this battery performance is terrible. I'm not going to make a full day at work. If you want to keep 4G on do you have to use a extended battery.

Sounds like a battery. I typically charge overnight and I'm good from about 7-4. Then I charge on the 30 min drive home and I'm good until the nightly charge. I've never seen exceptional battery life even with JuiceDefender. Right now it's bad but not quite like yours. I was on a third-party battery, though. I just swapped to the HTC battery and I'll see how it is. I think I'm going to turn JD off as well to see how SkyRaider managers on its own.

I recommend turning off 4G. It's not really useful anyways unless you're trying to download something. Calibrate the battery also. Turn down your screen brightness and backlight timing. Also adjust how often accounts sync. Slow your CPU speeds.
You should be set after that.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Yeah, I only use 4G if I'm doing file transfers or tethering. I need to look at underclocking. How often do you sync? I have a number of accounts that I check every 15 min. I could probably increase that to 30.

Some of these are apps you can change within the apps settings, such as Facebook. I usually sign on before it syncs anyways.
Definitely checks your social apps and change the update intervals. It's basically the same thing.

I unplugged at 7:30 and it's almost 4pm now. On 3G with some forum browsing and regular email checking I'm at 38%. So if you were dropping to 14% I'd definitely try a new battery. This is with JuiceDefender disabled as well.
7:25pm Update
I finally hit 14% 12 hours after disconnecting from the AC charger. I guess that's not too bad.

You need to realize the stock battery is only 1450. So very small for a 4g phone. I have found juice defender only made my wallet lighter. You might want to look in to an aosp ROM as it gives you better battery life. I personally disable auto sync and turn off GPS. Also while I am at work I disable data as SMS and MMS doesn't come over mobile data part. In the end some people carries more than one battery on them if they won't be in a place they can charge.

I had some issues with my battery when I got it. Turns out the stock clock/weather thing on the lock screen couldn't get a lock on my position (just kept saying "current location"), and would run GPS for 10 seconds whenever I unlocked my phone. After fiddling with GPS and the weather settings themselves for awhile to no avail, I said F it and just let it happen. Eventually it got a lock and since then battery life has been fine.

Buy a new phone.
I started this morning around 75% and got to 8% in about 8 hours of heavy usage. I must have sent a few hundred texts today along with a bunch of snapchats, took a bunch of pictures, web browsing, some Navigation use, an hour or so of Skyping, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Battery saver was on, but I had data running all day, Wifi and LTE per the situation. It actually said that Messaging was the main battery hog at 32%.
What I've taken from it is that if you're going to be using the phone heavily, it doesn't hurt to have a charger.
Where do you guys see how much screen time is used? I don't see it with sense

Weird, my battery just went from 8% to 32% from being on the charger for a few minutes.
I guess it's not calibrated very accurately yet.

[Q] Sudden change in Battery and Suspicious App?

Hello, all, since I've had my Note 2 I've been incredibly impressed with the battery live, much better than other droids I've owned. Within the last two weeks or so, however, I've seen a dramatic drop in battery life. Where I used to be able to last a day and a half without charging, The phone is now not capable of lasting through the day. There hasn't been any real change in my usage patterns, but I am constantly trying new apps, so I figured that one of the new ones must be the culprit. The stock battery stats indicated that Android System was consuming about 41 percent of the battery, which based on previous readings and having owned other droids seemed much too high. I downloaded Battery Stats Plus, which indicated hat the rogue app was wssyncmldm, consuming that same 41 percent. I wasn't familiar with this app, but google revealed that it manages ota updates? I tried rebooting the phone, and went back to Battery Stats Plus, which now indicated that same 41 percent, but named the app "Factory Test." I let the phone charge overnight to a full 100, then checking again today, I'm seeing similar numbers. Today Factory Test is listed at about 33 percent. Both apps are active in application manager, and reappear as soon as I force close them. Neither can be disabled on my stock, non-rooted note 2. I've not tried the factory reset just yet, was hoping to avoid that, but wondered if anyone had any suggestions.
Thanks so much, all!!!

I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I'll do my best.
Let's start with the obvious things
1. Try uninstalling any apps that you recently installed
2. In application manager go under all and look for the "wssyncmldm" culprit. I don't have it in my application manager but I have one that is very close in name
3. Have you recently installed any OTAs?
4. Are you rooted by any chance?
5. When I updated to the 4.1.2 update, I had a similar battery issue. I just ended up backing up all my apps with "Helium" (No root required if you plug it into a pc with some directions) and just did a factory in settings. It fixed the battery issue for me, though I never looked into it to see if it was this same culprit.
I hope I can help in some way, I'll try my best though!

Updated to KitKat, battery life sucks

Updated OTA to kitkat this morning on my Verizon Note 2. Already the battery life has taken a big hit, just as I feared. Google Play Services and Android system are now using major battery, whereas they werent before. I loved my Note 2, but will definitely be switching back to an iPhone 5s in a few weeks unless I can figure out how to fix the battery life with kitkat or downgrade back down to JB.
Same here. Also my 4g LTE speeds have tanked (5-10 times slower).

you and I are very much in the same boat. I had a Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet that was simply AWESOME. Very fast and great battery life. Then came the Kitkat update...sucked all the life out of it. Things improved after I rooted and disabled tons of things, but it is still not as good as it once was...
Seems like these days every Google product just gets worse. I used to love Android Navigation, it stored your previously found destinations and you could easily navigate back and forth. Then they merged it with Maps. Now it sucks.
Try making sure Google now and that "ok Google" crap is off. That was killing me on KK. ALSO, make sure under your wifi settings Google isn't set to search for wifi even with wifi turned off.
