Cyanogen Mod 10.0 wont charge in pc and clean - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all.
I have just installed this fine ROM.
But now it wont charge when it is plugged in the pc. Fine in the Samsung charger.
And how do i clean up my galaxy tab i have alot of crap on it but now i cant see the files in windows on galaxy tab? I can with clockworkmod.
And how do i disable USB debugging ?
Regards Daniel and thanks

Go to Settings>Developer Options>Untick USB Debugging, Then connect your tab to your PC, then go to Settings>Storage>There should be a box in the upper-right corner saying "USB Connection", if not find it. Tap it then tick the option that says MTP Intialisation or something like that.

Usb charging is turned off for some security reasons, but you can force it to in ADB or terminalnemulator
I think it was something like :
Open terminal emulator
- type 'su'
- Then type, “echo 1 > /sys/class/power_supply/battery/force_usb_charging”.
And this should do the job. Not 100% sure though

trouble charging throught usb
probable solution here..

If you are on Windows: Samsung drivers installed?
Did you try different USB port?
Is USB debugging enabled? Settings->Applications->Development
What are the USB settings on the phone? Settings->Applications->USB settings
Mass storage mode doesn't work for me on Win 7 x64 I just use the media player setting and it works the same way as mass storage should.
It works for me just fine. One time it did do the flickering USB icon thing, but that turned out to be because the cable that I was using was going bad. It sounds like this may be what's going on in your case?
I clipped this from a post I made a few months ago...

For those of you having a problem with Windows 7 recognizing your Vibrant ... here is how I fixed it on my system.
*Note: You do not need to load any special USB drivers for your phone to be recognized in Mass Storage mode in Windows 7.
*Warning: You follow these instructions at your own risk ... no screaming at me if you try it and something gets screwed up!
1) Navigate your way into the Device Manager / Universal Serial Bus Controller
2) Uninstall the device(s) "USB Root Hub" (My system had 2 listed)
3) You will lose mouse and keyboard control (because you just removed the USB Hubs)
4) Reset your PC and allow Windows to boot normally.
5) Go back to the device manager and wait for all of the "!" marks to go away as windows re-installs the USB Hubs and reinitializes all of your devices.
6) Make sure your Vibrant is in mass storage mode and has USB debugging OFF
7) Plug in your Vibrant via the USB cable and be amazed as windows recognizes your device and assigns the drive letters. After you select the mount option on your phone you will have normal access via windows explorer.
Hope this helps some of you out there !!!

[Q] Can't Access Tablet through my computer after Vegan-Tab 5.1.1

I loaded Vegan-tab 5.1.1 and everything is working great, except that i can't see my tablet as an external device anymore while connected by usb to my computer. I do see the sdcard & sdcard2 files from the ifilemanager.
Is there a way to fix this?
I noticed something similar and it turned out to be me. I was expecting the "USB connected" message when I plugged it in. However, when I looked at the top bar, there it said "USB". I pulled down the bar, clicked on USB CONNECTED and I was back in business.
Possible for you as well? Something to check...
Me too
I'm having a similar problem with Vegan 5.1. The tab is connecting and I'll go to select "Turn on File Sharing" or whatever the option is and everything will appear hunkydory. However, if I attempt to transfer a file it will hang up for a while (on the PC side) and then eventually the connection will be broken. If I look, there is a file of the right size on the internal sd, but I'm not willing to fool around with them in case they're corrupted.
Somebody please help! I've had a good search and can't find any recent posts on this topic.
My trouble shooting advice :
A) 5.1.1 has a pull down menu that you have to "active USB"
B) I installed android USB drivers on my PC just in-case so i wouldn't have connection issues.
C)May need a "powered" USB port like Portable HDD .. example: (MAC keyboard USB port isn't powered).
Vegan by default after install leaves system in USB debugging mode. Go into setup/ applications/development and turn it off.

Hello- USB debugging is turning itself on(putting a check on itself in the settings) automatically as soon as I plug in the USB cord and enable USB storage.
I am using the ROM located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442889
Any help is appreciated, thank you!
as far as i see its always enabled in stock roms... and there is nothing to worry about unless you have some virus in pc which will use adb to format phone or steal data

The problem is I can not turn off USB debugging, this is not normal behavior. It automatically turns itself on...
Download ROM Toolbox from Market, go to root browser, build.prop Editor, click the pencil on the extreme upper right type - persist.adb.notify=0 in the end of the textbox. Should solve the problem I think..

USB connect doesn't work cm11 (nexus 7 2013)

Help me !!
Iam running the latest nightly of cm11 (nexus 7 2013) , and the USB connect just doesn't work!
I try it with USB debugging and with out it , and it's not work ...
What to do ?
Does it charge the battery or is not working at all?
Using Tapatalk GT-I9505
I've just recently had this problem as well. Add pictures to show what it says or does when you say it doesn't work. If it charges the battery and displays the icon and notice that it's plugged in on the phone, then you'll just have to uninstall or disable the device on your computer and try it again for it to work.

I realized that there were no check-boxes marked. when I clicked MTP, it installed.

USB drive connection between Android and Windows no longer working in Oreo (v8)

Hi everyone,
I often transfer files between my Samsung S7 Edge and my Windows PC through USB cable. However, after (making the mistake of) letting it upgrade to Oreo (v8.0), this is no longer possible: connecting the phone via USB to my laptop only shows charging information in the swipe-down top menu, and I no longer get the prompt asking whether I want to allow access to the phone's contents. Consequently, the phone's internal&SD memory no longer shows up under Windows Explorer.
I've been searching for a fix/workaround for hours (thanks Google for this quality time!). Some of the things I've tried that didn't work:
- enable/disable USB debugging mode under developer options
- change "USB configuration" (under Developer Options) to "MTP" and to all other options there
- use a different USB cable and USB port on the laptop
- search for apps on the Play Store that can help with this (didn't find any that actually do the job)
Connecting Android phones to Windows laptops to access their internal memory through USB cable has (bemusingly!) been a problem with this ****ty OS as long as I can remember, so it doesn't surprise me that users are having to spend even more time now to get it to work again.
Any suggestions much appreciated!

Thanks - I tried that, but I still don't see the phone's memory as a USB drive, nor any permission prompt on the phone once I connect it.

Try to reinstall drivers ,uninstall all previously installed use USBDEVIEW tool .
https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
Before I do that, I should note that, when I tried on a different Win 10 PC, I get the USB drive back no problem, so the problem is Windows/PC-related, it seems?!
Turns out that, when using another USB cable, the phone is once again seen as a USB drive. I didn't think the cable could make a difference! Hope it helps others
