how to:whitelist app - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys !
how can i put in the whitelist some app ? sometimes i hate android memory killer;in this way i ll be able to choose when that app has to be closed.
I hope i was clear..thanks for the help

Try Xposed framework, search it around XDA

Unless its contacts / phone. Not even Xposed works with that well.

i read on xda some guide, these saying to add some strings in build.prop..i tried but nothing..
with framework like jkay and xposed i can lock app in memory,my aim is to find a way for locking app with the original framework. Is it possible guys ? thanks

I'm curious: why?

in this way i can put sms app in whitelist, so android memory killer never kills sms app=no lags because it remains in memory

Locking phone and contacts in memory

Can someone refer me how to lock phone and contacts in memory. I know there is an option in jay's framework but I don't need whole framework just this option. No problem in editing apks and so just need to know what to edit.

Nobody knows?
Just use JKAY Framework its easy, and trust me once you do you'll never want to run your phone without it.
There is a thread on here about locking contacts and messaging in memory. Search and you should find it

I will try this. Thank you so much.
No go. If I clear memory or reboot the phone, apps are removed from memory

Why freeze apps when you can disable?

So I rooted my lg l9, thinking I was going to be able to uninstall the bloatware easily, but what's the point if you can just go into app section in settings and disable the bloatware apps you don't want?
You just cant disable or remove some apps without rooting. For example- playstore app, its keeps running in background even if u stop it. So, use titanium backup or any such software and freeze it, and get more ram free by doin same with other unwanted apps.

Actually I use ATK, advanced task killer, which automatically kills any unwanted background apps every half hour. Extends battery backup for many hours.

It will also be eating battery... So in the end it may just even out...

Without root, you can disable around 80% of bloatware in T-mobile version, I remember I could not disable the Identity app. But the plus side of disabling apps is that you don't need root.
And app killers ... I haven't used one for a long time: http://lifehacker.com/5650894/andro...ed-what-they-do-and-why-you-shouldnt-use-them

there are 3 "solutions":
1) Use an ASOP/AOKP rom
2) Use JKay Framework and lock the dialer & contacts in memory
3) Use a 3rd party app
Hence, there is no "real" solution to the issue.

Nope, never worked for me. It extended the amount of time contacts and dialer stayed in memory, but not by a lot. Tried on several ROMs too.

this was what i tried:
without xposed : open dialer once , kill it in "Recents" , play heavy game for while , open lots lots apps and then go back to open dialer , it like what , take 2 or 3 seconds to open it.
with xposed: same as above but it seems finished open within a second, through not as quickly as you open it , back out , open again.
Super!

Yes, I have saved the list and added required apps to the multi window drawer. But no luck. Yes, I sent and email to the developer, but still he/she not reply, even if I have a pro version.

Omega android 4.1.2 with googy max kernel. I face this issue if I added all the apps to enable list by tapping "enable all" button.

You misunderstood me, what I asked is firmware version, like XXEMF1 XXEMF1 XXEMG4... etc
As matter of fact , there is MOD in theme section even tells you how to manually edit the flashbarservice file to add additional apps.
And I don't think you really and actually need to add all applications you have...

Anyone use VuTalk?

I bought g2 the next day it came out, and did not know this vutalk feature existed until yesterday while playing around with both of my and my girlfriend's g2.
Now we doodle around with this thing whenever we get a chance and me like it ;p
But the sad thing is i dont have any other people on my contact list that i can vutalk with except my girlfriend...
Anyone use this at all?

I would check it out but I don't know anyone else who has VuTalk. I think it is LG's version of Apple FaceTime. Right?

It gives you the ability to draw stuff you can share with the person you're talking to. I've personally disabled it, as it uses some RAM

Press menu in contacts, u'll see vutalk setting second from the bottom

To disable it (and you can do this without root) go into settings - general - apps - all and scroll all the way down to the bottom. You will find vutalk there. Press on it and disable it. And yes it will remain disabled even after reboot.

We are getting off-topic...but, i'll answer
Viber needs only a few KB/s (or MBs for calls) . Other apps need more ( i don't use and don't know about what's up)
It doesn't need an account. (for hangouts you need to have your friends gmail / fb needs ...fb accounts )
And you can do some funny staff. Draw/emoticons/sound clip
