Hello friends and fellow seniors of the xda-developers ,
I just bought an S3 clone about 2 months old already . And am not sure if i can root it as the software is rather confusing .
Model Number : I9300
Android Version : 4.1.1
Baseband Version : MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V20,2012/10/25
Kernel Version : 3.0.13 [email protected]#100 THU OCT 25 12:12:12 CST 2012
Build Number : Gingerbread.zkis3
I do know though that 4.1.1 is a jellybean software and yet gingerbread.zkis3 is most likely to be a samsung galaxy s2 2.3.5 .
Is there and ways , or is it possible to change it ? Because i wanna upgrade it to 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 jelly bean .
And i really wanna root it . My phone keep saying i dont have enough device storage . My SD card just used 1% of 8gb . And my 16gb still has 14gb left . Either way i still wanna root it . Please help me anyone . /:

Your phone is not Samsung and not I9300 .
Nothing for you in this forum .
You need to find a forum for your phone this forum and its firmware and root is not for your phone .

Ohh okay . Thank you . Can you recommend me one forum or one good site that can solve this kind of problems ? Or can't xda-developers develop a new firmware for this ? I can roughly pay 20 USD$ . Im not bribing . I just want my phone to be at least get rooted . /:
You appear to have missed the whole point of XDA, it isn't about providing a paid service but about helping other people with your own experiences and knowledge.
It is unlikely that anyone here reads or knows about fake S3 forums, neither will they be able to help you with your specific problems.
You would do better to put your $20 toward a genuine S3.

How can we tell you you dont have a SGS3 its fake a pretend phone and does not work the same as I9300.
Above link is not a Forum for SGS clone its Android Development and Hacking Q&A .
Ask in that thread the users who have a fake SGS3 may know .

1) My android version is 2.3.4 but shouldn't it be a 2.3.3 or smth ?
2) It is a 16gb device, but on total space area it shows 11.50gb where is another 4.5 gb ? It is divided or what a hell?
3)GPS(navigation) seems broken or can't catch a signal(yes clear sky and stuff like that was done)
4)samsung kies says my 2.3.4 is the latest version is that true ? if not which version if the latest on this device in this time ?
5)my s2 is from t-mobile poland but in my country there is no t-mobile but it works with any sim card, does this make a difference ?

Kies is not telling lies .That is the latest firmware the phone provider has uploaded . Their are later stock firmwares but you need to read learn and understand first .

Yes there are more current versions, but you must understand, to use the device more than just a conversation with your girlfriend or smth.., there are no shortcuts you need to read and believe me, it's addictive when you'll know what you wanna do.

but during wiping , device going held .nothing doing next . please help .
or any body have and other ROM and complete install process . please help me .

Not in the right section but....
Usually with custom ROMS you cant update your phone. Before any ROM install you should have made a Backup of the stock ROM. If you didn't, go to sammobile.com and search for your stock firmware. Keeping in mind of your location and everything.
After that flash through ODIN.

Hi all, ok its been a very long time since i rooted my sg3 , ok i have an s3 locked to vodafone and is running rom 4.1.2 baseband I9300XXEMG4, So is this normal verizon/sprint phone and yes im in the UK.
What i need to no is can somebody post a link to me and the latest easier way to root my S3 Please, sorry to have forgotton the whole thing but its been ages since i last rooted,
Also are there any latest sound boosting hacks that are available now ?
And finally sorry for posting in wrong section to the admin if i have.

Start by finding out what phone you have .

Oh i am of the same opinion your question made no sense as sprint verizon is USA and therefore would be in the wrong forum .Likely you would brick the phone if asking for
information here would be extremely high if that was the case and you suggest you have Vodaphone UK phone but ask about some other model .

Hi everyone,
I hope someone can assist me.
I rooted my i9300 device using Samsung Galaxy S3 ToolKit.
After installing Omega ROM 46.1
What i discovered after installing omega rom is that my IMEI number had changed to 004999010640000 and am no longer registered on my network.
I then went to rom manager as i had a backup of my sock rom i restored it but still no network says not registered to network.
i went to a couple of forums n dowloaded offical stock rom from this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2005286) still no network no back up nothing and the emie is still changed 004999010640000.
current version on mmy ph is
GT I9300
model 4.1.2
basebande version : I9300xxemb6
kernel version : 3.0.31 -1071725
build number : jzo54k.i9300xxemc3
after installing stock rom from this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2005286)
So basically:
I get the wrong IMEI number when running stock android from Samsung.
and nothing seems to work as not network
Can someone assist me with this? as i am new to changing roms .
You're going to have to search, as discussion of methods to change a device's IMEI is illegal in many places and cannot be discussed on XDA.
Sorry that it's not much help, but the answers are out there if you use Google properly.

Go to Faqs and Guides and read and post in the EFS/ IMEI thread we do not need yet another thread.
As it looks like you failed to backup your EFS as per the instructions its best to take it to a service centre for repair .
Please read the stickies then if you have any questions post in the sticky thread which is actively maintained. Also its IMEI not EMIE

i have a Samsung S3 but there is something strange on it, like the home that is different from all the others S3. That telephone is even just a little bigger than the original, so this is just a clone of the S3 even if it has the Samsung mark on the back and when it boots the system... Now, i'm interested to change the firmware of the phone (it has 4.1.1) with the original one of the Samsung (4.1.2, so i will forget i got a bad clone ), could i do it? Or i will brick it?

Soz about the title... i forgot it ... I wanted to modify but i can't so i modified it now... when i will back home i will write the model
No clones cannot use Samsung firmware .
If you have a clone you will have to find a clone phone forum.
Is the OP a cat, just being curious.
