Is our phone capable of using IR blaster, and if so, could someone port it?

Can you buy an IR transmitter that plugs into the headphone jack? Or does it not work like that?

I don't remember seeing anyone sell something like that, but they would have a companion app with it

Not that I know of. But there's plenty of apps that can record the sounds your phone plays, and I'm not talking about using the mic.

Is NFC in the battery on our devices?

I understand that some devices, like the Galaxy Nexus, have the NFC hardware built in to the battery. Is the DNA like this?

I'm going to guess yes since we have w wireless charging which uses magnetism as well

Well it would make sense seeing that recently my battery life has been drastically decreasing, and now my NFC has stopped functioning.

[xpu]What is the hardware beneath cap?

When you open the interchangeable cap, then flip the phone around, you can see some sort of port . What is that hardware for ?

One is for the Mic.!
But the other one is for thread or a hand cuff or mobile holder... So that u can hang it to ur neck...& reducing the risk of phone getting forgotten stolen or dropping accidentally..!

IR BLASTER to send JPEG?

Is there any way of using the IR port to send photos to devices, like we could with phones 10 years ago?
Sent from my GT-I9205 using xda app-developers app
Interesting. Perhaps, someone can develop a software solution for it. Have you checked if there's an app for that on the Play Store?
Yeah I've looked in Play Store but couldn't find anything

Not likely to....no IR sensor.
I thought an IR blaster was an IR transmitter. Is it not?

It is. But to receive, you need a IR sensor.
All I want to do is send photos via IR to an old printer of mine, not receive them as I know a receiver would be required for that.
