On my phone none of them will allow you to move them. I have jelly bean.

You could always try Link2SD. It's an app that let's you move any app to a secondary partition on your SD card. I used it on a previous phone that had very limited internal storage. It helped a lot.

Also Titanium backup and similar apps will allow you to move apps to the sdcard (most apps need root).
Autocorrected from my EVO 3D running CM 10.1 / Fleksy Beta

Are you receiving some kind of error message? Could you explain your problem a little more so that we can help you?
Here are a few guides I found for Setting Up Link2SD on your phone's SD card. Here's another one.
I think the problem is the samsung phone. Same happens on the s3, where "sdcard" is actually an emulated location, part of the internal memory, just a label.
So, apps installed on internal are detected by normal means as already installed in sdcard. These phones usually label the removable sd card as extsdcard.
Nothing to do for the moment, apps like directory bind helped creating links (just as link2sd does) between external and internal sdcard.
Yes. It gives me a message about "shell".

Hey, i was wanting to move my games and some apps to my sd memory card in my s3......but I cant find the option for it. Ive tried App2SD from the marketplace but it doesnt let me select my external memory card, its like its blocked or something. I know the phone recognises it because I can move music and pics onto it via MyFiles app. Any ideas???

How can you move apps to sd card without root. Plus app 2 sd app says my old 16gb sd card I pulled from my evo 3d and formatted can't have apps moved any ideas besides root. However downloads from this forum are stored on this sd card. Maybe I'm missing something coming from an HTC device.

You can't, Samsung switched it up for the S3, apps are assigned to internal storage
So I need it rooted then.

May I ask why you want to move apps to your SD card? I don't think it would be possible to fill internal storage with apps that you actually used on a regular basis.

actually quite a few games now use between 500mb-1gb space... it can add up pretty fast if you install all those really good games running awsomely on the s3

Just asking I have the 32GB version here is another odd find. I use Amazon mp3 when downloading the songs from cloud storage it puts the songs on both internal and sd storage.

Lol never mind I was looking at sd card not ext sd card

Anyone know how to get to the SD card? I put a known working 32 GB card in and it will not show up. It is formatted NTFS, could that be the problem?

Yes, the NTFS formatting is your problem. Format should be FAT32.
Fat32 should be the formatted state... I really hope you don't think you can install apps on it ....I learned that the hard way... ICS won't let us install apps to our external memory card smh

I have an app (maybe it's a widget?) running on my phone, circular battery indicator. I put the .apk on my MicroSD card and installed it from there. Works well! Gotta have the .apk though.

They apk can install from.the sd card but if u look in the app manager... It installs to the internal or phone storage not the ext sd card

Alright, so when I try to take pictures or screenshots, it says it's unable to do so because I'm out of storage or something? I have 1.5gigs of internal left, and 28gigs of external.
Any help/suggestions? Never had this before.
I am running Beans 6, by the way
Edit - figured it out
You had it set to ext sd card in the camera right? Once you change it to internal memory in the camera app it should work and then store it on the ext sd card right?

I'm having problems with a few sd cards on the stock verizon. My phone has been rebooting on it's own and the only thing that's fixed it so far was swapping the sd card out the first time and formatting it the second time.

I tried that, but even then it still wouldn't work. Downloading from browsers and all, didn't work either.

Already running out of space on my internal card. Any way to move the apps to the SD card without root? I've been show to root this time because I haven't found a great root method yet.
