Will it work on custom ROMs too?

Did you even read the article ?
If you do something wrong enough for the cops to seize your phone, they can ask Apple/Google (in the US at any rate) to decrypt/provide access to the data on the phone if you refuse to.

Obviously I won't do anything like that, what about other countries?
What I am really worried about is the security behind this, as a skillful hacker could do this, couldn't they?

Of course anyone who 'knows what they're doing' could potentially do this. Thing is, what are you going to do about it/to defend against it ? Answer: Nothing. Because there's nothing you can do.
I wouldn't be losing sleep over this.

You may have heard some of us talk about our mysterious day-jobs. Now is the time for us to tell what we've been working on. We've been creating an encrypted telephone, in software, on the XDA.
The following links tell more:
http://www.cryptophone.de
http://news.com.com/2100-1029-5109327.html
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&edition=us&q=cryptophone
thumbs up
That's impressive.
Good work ... do not have such a requirement for now but it's good to be out there.
And since "our" developers are in front line ... it's even better.
Decebal
This CryptoPhone reminded me about a question I 4got to ask...
When ever i make a call, for about the first 5 seconds (sumtimes longer or shorter)... I can hear other ppls conversations....so i was wondering, is there any software to make the device into sum sort of scanner? 8)
I dont think I will be ordering one as the price seems to be aimed at industrialist multi millionaires and the like. I do admire the fact that the spooks have no access but I dont know how long that will last as I am sure that as we speak some beaurocrat is wording the legislation to outlaw it on the basis that it threatens security or some such nonsense.

They told me that when someone buys the phone they could provide a dump so that we have that launcher on our phones. Does anyone of you know anything? Is it possible to code such thing? Our dual-core phones definitely can run such an app. What do you guys think?
Bump? Noone? Don't you guys think it's worth a try? Customization is everything..
Looks cool. Its 1300 dollars. You should buy it and dump it for us.

Well, I used the 600euros for the S II. Guess noone has the phone. Or wants to develop such launcher...
Its not even a phone , there is no mention of radio bands anywhere on the website, i think its pure development/tech demo unit , qualcomms version of google Nexus series of phones minus phone function
What i really like on this demo unit is external SD card slot , you can quick swap without opening your phone if only more phones had it.

Hi,
Got a big problem, I got drunk last night and lost my X10 :/ Is there a way I can locate my phone? There is a signal, but nobody is picking up, so it's probably somewhere out there in a snow. I didn't have any app for tracking installed -.- But I know google keeps trace of my phone, is it possible to force localization check of a phone? I want to use the benefit of being traced my whole life...
Just had a quick search and found something which should help.
Search for "plan B" by lookout mobile security on the android market. If you install it from your PC and read the instructions in the app description it should help.
Hope this helps.

Need a good recommendation for a wakelock killing app, my phone is awake 90% of the day even though I've had maybe 45 minutes of onscreen time at school, and another 10 so far at home. Screenies attached, I'm running my rom (ironically) 100% stock, no custom kernels or anything. This is gonna bother me to no end if I can't find a solution lol

It's better to find the cause than to treat the symptoms. BetterBatteryStats XDA is free here. It can help you figure out what's going on.

Every time I go to root my phone with the single click whether I use v1 or v2 my phone reboots and does not root. Any suggestions as what to do
Go to the thread and get support there

I had a similar issue... I had an ota update when I checked... It put me on the following software / kernel

After that update, towel root worked for me.
I am simply the messenger. I do not guarantee this will work always. Any modifications you do to your phone is your own risk. Many people have reported it works. Your setup may be slightly different than others. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but once you decide you want to try it, you accept the chance that your phone could end up a paperweight. I'm not saying it's your fault, but I am saying that you are testing possible dangerous waters by trying things that aren't approved by sprint. It's a gamble that all of us have to decide if it's worth it. I don't promise anything, i'm simply offering more information.
