Hey guys!
After having some issues with the Netflix app of all the things, followed by low memory, Link2SD and a boot loop (which probably was cause by low memory) I managed to make the phone boot up again by diving into recovery (some CWM version by AlphaRev) and then wiping out cache data. When the phone finally booted up, which took unusually long time, I was missing a lot of apps and got some app crash warnings.
One of the missing apps was the Link2SD itself, and as a consequence (I guess), many of the other apps were missing for this reason (at least those that were linked to the SD card as opposed to installed there by default).
One of the warnings that popped up was one about Google Services Framework.
The application Google Services Framework has stopped working (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Another one was about Facebook.
The application Facebook (process com.facebook.katana) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

There were several different app crashes in a row, like on a production line. I was unable to see the names of them all.
I went into app management, cleared caches and uninstalled several apps. I rebooted, booted up (slowly again), I got back some of the app icons that were missing (which is weird) and I was able to launch them. But some apps were still missing, among them Link2SD.
I grabbed an APK file for some older version of Link2SD on my computer, plugged in the phone, launched a command prompt and tried installing it with ADB. It reported insufficient storage space. I checked it and it said like 1.80 MB free internal memory. So I uninstalled some more apps and tried again and it was a success.
After installing Link2SD I launched it and then chose to clean up Dalvik cache, clean up 2nd partition, and then "relink library files". I tried the "recreate mount scripts" but it kept on failing.
Mount script cannot be created. failed

Right now I have Gmail, and I have the Search. I don't think I have any other Google app (except for maybe some background services). I only have a broken Play Store icon/link on the home page.
How can I check and verify that Google Services Framework is installed and working? And if it's not, how do I repair or reinstall it?
What I have tried so far:
I tried grabbing an APK file for Google Services Framework from another thread here at XDA and installing it manually with ADB. It was a no go. This is the message I got.
INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK

What does this mean?
I read in another thread here at XDA that one user was unable to make phone calls after uninstalling this service by mistake. I tried this and I was able to place a call. Does that mean that Services Framework is Okay?

Update:
I just grabbed and manually installed Playstore v4.0.27.apk successfully using ADB. But if I try to launch it I get a "sorry" message.
The application Google Play Store (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

I can only force close it.
I need a way to either install apps right on the phone (Play Store), or a way to grab APK files for the apps I want to install (like backup apps) and install them manually, because there is still some personal data on the phone that needs to be saved before I pull the plug and flash the entire phone.
Did you find a solution for this?
I have the same issue with my phone for about almost a week. I didnt know that google service framework was a big issue and a built in program. I accidentally deleted it same with my google play store with my rooted device. When I reformat my phone it keeps telling or it keeps showing com.google.process.gapps is not working. Pls help me fix this kind of issue im dealing with

I noticed this morning that a couple of my apps were missing from my app drawer, specifically USAA Mobile, Google Goggles, and Package Buddy, and when I tried to reinstall them with TB, it just hung forever until I killed it. So I tried poking around in /data/app, and they were all there hanging out like everything was fine, but wouldn't install when I clicked on them, they'd try but fail. So I went to Google Play and tried installing then from there and it popped up the error "Missing Shared Library".
Anyone have any idea what that is and why it only affects those three apps? Thanks!

Apparently your system has become somewhat corrupted and lost shared library files needed by those apps, or perhaps more correctly by the VM process. A cache wipe probably will have no effect, but reinstalling your rom should fix it.
Hi,
A couple of days ago, (stupidly) I decided that I wanted more internal memory space so I ended up deleting and reinstalling Google Play, as the Convert To User App option within Link2SD didn't work as it said something about can't finding Certificates; something like that.
Anyway so now when I go to install an application, it simply crashes and doesn't work. It loads fine; just doesn't download anything.
I've tried clearing Data & Cache for both the Google Play Application and the Download Manager Application.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Had to push it back onto the System Side. I'm sure I remember being able to install it onto my SD Card before?
Device: Samsung SCH-i509
Android Ver: 2.3.6
Rooeted: Yes
Internal Memory: 160MB
Ext memory: 2GB microSD partitioned as: 1st Partition: 1455MB FAT, Second Partition: 515 EXT2 (I am using Link2SD for linking apps to SD card)
Superuser App: SuperSU
Rom Management: RomToolBox lite
I rooted my phone about a fortnight ago, first time rooting, things went fine, and apps were responsive.
2 days back I not only uninstalled the Google Play Store updates but also uninstalled the app, hoping I would install the latest google store APK from Android Police ( Ver: com.android.vending-4.8.22.apk )
I am new to rooting and installing apks, so after installing the above mentioned Google Play Store apk to the SD card and finding it was not responsive (I was getting a blank screen and an error message shortly thereafter which disappeared instantaneously for me to note what it said). I googled and found on a forum, (sorry don't recall which one) that the APK needs to be copied to the system/app folder and any previous apk of Google Play Store needs to be replaced. So using Root Browser in ROMToolBox I copied the apk to system/app.
Doing so did open the 'first run' of Google Play Store, as in I was prompted to allow permission via google account and opened the interface with my apps etc normally. But trouble started when I tried to update the apps. The moment I do that, I get the downloading bar AND then I get the force close screen. The same would happen in the case if I try to download any apps.
I froze the Google Play Store app through ROMToolBox App Manager.
On doing a search on XDA forums before I posted here I came across: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2129881
And did as suggested in this thread: went to the system/app folder through Root Browser and set permission to rw-r--r-- as suggested there.
UNFORTUNATELY things are the same as before: once the app fires up either by clicking on a Google Play Store linked ad or by just opening it, I am back to force close screen.
I would be really thankful if someone could help me out on this.
Also, I am not quite sure how much it makes a difference I was using Link2SD to link all user apps to SD card (I uninstalled this app as well hoping to install the latest version)
You rebooted after changing the apk permissions, right? Also perhaps try force stopping the plays store, wiping the app data then reboot.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I had rebooted and clear app data but the app was still unresponsive/
The issue resolved when I downloaded an older version of the Google Play Store app and installed it in the sys/app folder after removing the previous one, reconfigured the permissions and rebooted. things are working fine now.
Cheers, have a great weekend!
Pls I seriously need help with my tablet. Sometimes ago, I used the Link2sd app to kink apps to my SD. I linked also the Google play services and my superuser app. When I finished, I then rebooted the device only to find later that the link2sd refused to mount. As a result, all apps I linked refused to display. They just were gray, you can't launch or do anything with them. Most unfortunately, was that the Google play services app and the superuser app could not be found. I could no grant or allow superuser permission for apps any more. I uninstalled the link2sd, rebooted, no way. I cleared data/cache no way of various apps, no way. I tried system reset from seetings, no way and worst now, I can't boot into recovery too to do factory reset. The device won't install apps any more cos the package installer stopped working as well. I cant go to play store or use any app associated with google. Pls I seriously need help. I use the Tecno phantom mini pad also known as tecno p9. Someone pls help. Thanks
Ok, so 3 days ago I had an issue where the YouTube app, when started, was loading the feed infinitely, I decided to go to Play Store and update google services, but the Play Store wouldn't load past the triangle logo.
I've downloaded the external apk and tried installing that, no result with "app not installed" message.
Next, I've tried deleting the Google Play Services (com....gms) and installing them again, but they wouldn't show up in the app list.
Next, I tried to flash the MIUI with ADB without wiping the storage, done that successfully but that didn't change anything.
I'm now trying to at least backup my photos via ADB and re-flash the MIUI with a full wipe. But even the com.android.backupconfirm.BackupRestoreConfirmation won't load for me to confirm backup via adb, it just opens on the phone as an empty window without rendering any output.
Please help guys, I'm really desperate, I'm in a warzone and don't have a lot of time do dig into this deeper =(
Ok, I fixed it =)
pulled out the storage with adb and re-flashed the MIUI
Peace!
