Just wondering if any of you guys use the app Viggle? For those who don't know what the app does/is, it listens to your TV for roughly 15 seconds when you tell it to, and you confirm the show your are watching. You get 1 point for every minute that you're checked in while the show is still on. Some shows give you bonus points as well, the most common being 50 bonus points, but some shows, though rarely, are worth up to 200 bonus points. There is a What's On section in the app that lists all of the shows worth bonus points for that day. There are also videos you can watch to earn bonus points too. You trade your points for different prizes which you choose from. I always opt for the $25 Best Buy gift card. Pretty awesome to get paid, in a sense, to watch TV!! I've been using this app for roughly 7 months. A few months ago I decided to make other accounts (only need a different email address) and started using Viggle on my other phone and my tablet as well. So far I've gotten 7 $25 Best Buy gift cards! $175 just for watching TV!? Not too shabby!! Lol.
Here's the pic to show you that is totally legit (I was a bit skeptical at first to whether you'd actually be able to get gift cards or not, and knew no one else using the app, nor had I ever even heard of it before, just randomly happened to come across it while browsing the Play Store). I've since gotten my older sister and parents using it too. My parents have already used $50 in Lowes gift cards. Last pic is more of a close up to show the $ amount on the gift card. Though if you zoom in on the others you can also see the $ amount. Just put a Best Buy gift card that I received for Christmas at the bottom, to cover up the barcode and pin number assigned to the last printed card.
I get nothing for anyone signing up, as I obviously didn't post a referral code or anything, just wanted to share the info as I thought others might not have heard of this app before, and find this info useful!! You mentioned you get a point for every minute you're checked in; how do you prove how long you are watching the show exactly? Do you let your phone listen for the entire duration of the show or do you have to have your phone listen for 15 seconds once per minute?

Once it listens and you confirm that show, you can change the channel, turn off the TV, whatever you wanna do. You get 1 point per minute until that show goes off. You have to be checked in for at least 10 minutes to get the bonus points, for shows that offer bonus points. If there are 4 1-hour long shows between 8-9, I'll check in to 1 every 15 minutes. That way I get the bonus points for each show during that time frame.
Yea, I assumed it was too good to be true in the beginning as well! That's why I posted the photos for proof that it is indeed legit! While I've yet to use any of my Best Buy gift cards, my parents used 2 $25 Lowes gift cards last week, which they earned from Viggle. I've went on to Best Buy's website and entered my gift card info to confirm that they're working, and for the full $25.So it definitely works! They get money from companies advertising within their app, with videos you have the option to watch (for bonus points). They may even sell their statistics to TV networks, showing how many people check-in to what shows. Not sure about the last one, but there are definitely videos from companies advertising.

Well I wish that I DIDN'T have that much time to watch TV! After a bad car wreck though, I'm on Disability for 1.5 years, so I'm trying to make the best of it! Lol. Hopefully I'll be able to drive again soon though, so I won't be sooooooo freaking bored stuck at the house almost every day!

I have been trying to use this all day. Only force closes on my tablet, but have been running it on my phone. Only problem is is that it is only giving me one point per program despite running it for over 20. I thought at first it was because I started doing something else with my phone, but it happens even within the app. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: Figured out I was checking into the tail end of half hour shows...duh! Developer's response was fast! Haven't tried going into other apps after I check in, though going to try that next.

You can do whatever you want with your phone one you're checked in. I always hit the home button and do something else. You can even power your phone off, didn't matter. Once you're checked in, you'll get 1 point per minute until that show goes off, no matter what your phone is doing.

I appreciate it bro! Actually May 22 will be 1 year ago! Yea, I was hurt pretty bad! They thought I was dead on scene at first, then found a pulse. Jaws of Life to get me out of the car, then life-flighted to the hospital. No one expected me to live through the first night. Woke up from a coma after 8 days, and was expected to have permanent brain damage. I had about a 1 minute long short term memory, and couldn't do ANYTHING for myself! Couldn't feed myself, go to the bathroom, etc. I could talk, very quietly, and my long term memory seemed ok. After 3 weeks in the hospital, everyone was amazed at how fast and well I was recovering. Was then turned down for the rehabilitation center, because I was beginning to feed myself, amongst do other things! No surgeries, and they didn't have to drill a hole in my head to relieve the pressure of all the blood on my brain. 1 week later I was released. Living back with my parents now, after moving out 12 years ago at age 20, lol. Double vision went away after about 6 months. Still no memory of the wreck or hospital stay, even the first few months after being released out are kind of a blur. Getting better though! Almost back to 100%!!!!

Thanks man! Still have my yellow 98 and 06 GT's. Was in my Dad's Cobra that afternoon. I was gonna buy it from him, as it just sat in his garage most of the time. 98 Cobra, 1 owner, only 22k original miles, all original, always sat in a garage under a car cover. Could have ate off of ANY part of that car! Insurance totaled it. Tree at 70mph will cause that I guess. He was gonna sell it to me for cheap, and buy him a new Jeep. Insurance gave him about twice more for it than he wanted me to give him. Bought it back from insurance though! Gonna swap the motor and trans from the Cobra in to my 98 GT.

Ohh man its Incredible compared TO Sprint. Even after just 24hrs. The thing I got a kick out of was when I had to my job site for a late shipment on paint coming in from across the US (yeah the client had Ploy-Urethane drove in from Washington state, dont ask LOL) but o had a few mins to spare, so I fired up NFL Mobile. Guy, I was watching the Green Bay game. It's looked great and the video quality was pretty damn good. I was amazed. That's the coolest thi.g I think I've seen on any of the devices I've owned. Yeah sprint's limited with cool features. And my data speeds are crazy good. Usually in my house I Roam with Sprint. The Airave I have helps a bit with reception but not data of course. O usually get about 1.50 on the Download. I was getti.g almost 14.00+ with 4G last night. It was mind boggling. So yeah om pretty stoked about coming over

I believe that watching games is free until the end of the season *with* new LTE phones. With my prior phone, the Dinc2 you had to pay $10/mth for Verizon Video to get the games on NFL Video. Was free when I got TB & Dinc2 but fee came out month or so ago.

I live behind Penn, right outside of Mishawaka by County Line Road. I had to take my dad to have a colonoscopy at the SBC, then we went to some restaurant next to that ****hole campus. I was born in Elkhart General though, and my dad owned Lemacks Construction on Lincolnway for 25 years, lol.
Anyways, back on topic, lol. I hit 32.76Mb/s DL and 17.82 UL today at University Park Mall

I haven't had a chance yet to test 4g in mishawaka. I may head out to the mall tonight and check it out. I haven't got above 18mbps up and 5 down yet.

Mishawaka and South Bend seem REALLY strong. Where I live I am in the "Extended 4G area" and I don't get 4G at all. You will notice once you cross 19 all the way until you pass Capitol and get about to Main Street/Grape Road that you wont have 4G. Even Verizon's website says "Congratulations your address is within a 4G market".
I go to both Ivy Tech South Bend and Elkhart Campus' for classes. South Bend was consistently faster than Elkhart.

Verizon says they don't know why I don't get 4G, my buddy doesn't get it here on his Bionic either. I think they overestimated the tower coverage.

If anyone comes to my house and tried to break in, it would end with them dead. And, I am a Nurse/Medic, and Army Ranger Veteran, I would make sure they were dead.
Not to mention I have 2 dogs, 2 renters who are both cops, and a girlfriend who is as a good a shot as I am

I was talking more about people signing you up for junk mail, but that would be a good way to convince the mail man to stop delivering the ****. But 47 weapons, jeez. I mean when I am out of college ill probably get a pistol for home defense but 47 weapons is alot to maintain I am sure. It would be sweet to have though.
Just tested a few minutes ago and got my fastest ever. My Rezound is always alot faster than my brothers Tbolt whenever we test them side by side.
I walked in lastnight to buy my Note and the sales lady greeted me. We talked about the note for a bit, went to the display model and gave it a quick whirl and then I went through with placing the order for my upgrade.
I was there maybe 35 - 40 minutes and during that time, the same display model that I had used earlier, was stolen. They just left the back of the case attached to the security plug and took the body/battery.
There had to have been about 12 - 15 ATT store employees there and no one saw anything. Ofcourse they have video and the IMEI number so as soon as the phone is activated they can shut it down, but that was just incredible to me that someone had the balls to pull a stunt like that.
Drama aside, I'm loving the hell out of my white note! I'm 6-1, 225 coming from an Atrix and now that 4" screen looks like a toy. My wife is appalled at the size, but she's an ifangirl so... what can ya do lol

Recently converted the parents from their isheepism to the dark side of Android. Now the dad is rocking a Razr Maxx and the mom is using a Galaxy Nexus (they are on Verizon.) I think I did pretty good with that conversion! Lol. They are addicted to Android now, like I am.

I've been trying to convert the boss lady, but she's quite happy being told how her phone should work lol.

Yeah, the person who took the phone is on video and that IMEI is effectively a paperweight at this point. I hope it was worth it to the thief... I almost feel bad for that craig's list /ebay victim if they sell it that way.

I can pop the back off with my CommuteMate DashGrip pad. That thing sticks so well I was using it to vertically mount the Note for the drive home back from BestBuy. I don't have any finger nails to pry off the back so I can use it if needed, lol.

Yeah at my store in schaumburg, it happens literally once a month.... however, people are getting clever with it. This one guy stole an iPhone 4s but get this.... he replaced it with an iPhone 4! I tried to demo siri to someone and was literally like... dafuq is this? One other time some guy stole an lg thrill and we had a running joke that he was the one that got duped
When you have like twelve people waiting to be helped you can't really fix problems, make sure you dont make mistakes in accounts and watch for thieves at the same time

Same here. Starting around Monday of last week i was prompted for an update.
FYI, if you go to Apps - HTC HUB you will see under Apps the HTC Watch has an option to Update. It will download a file and Install but it never actually updates. If you click the i (INFO) button it times out trying to take you to the HTC watch info page. Im guessing its a bug on HTCs server side or something.
Hope they get it fixed.

On the weekends they have been having 5 cent weekend specials. About 20-30 movies go on sale Friday - Sunday for a nickel. In the past 2 weeks i have rented about 10-15 movies. You get 30 days from the time you authorize payment to download and view. Once you start to watch a movie you have 24 hours to finish it. After that you pay again or delete it.
They also have 49 cent family movies and other specials.
Thats the main reason i went back to my Evo 3D from my Epic Touch.

all except for Contagion lol, freaked me out, bored me to sleep & yet I can't call it a "bad movie".
I've been missing out.
I had an update yesterday for HTC watch. Installed just fine.
And yes, I used it to buy the other day to rent 8 movies at 5 pence each :-D
If it wasnt for a little blurb on Android Central a while back commenting on the HTC Watch 5 cent weekends i would have missed it as well. Its an app i never/rarely use.
But now that they have sales like that i check it weekly. Well more when im watching the movies, but Fridays and Saturdays i see what content is available.

Here ya go. There's two apk's I don't know the difference one maybe the old and the other new, etc. Or one maybe the apk and one the widget but I'm not sure. They both should just install like any apk but if not just place them with root explorer and change permissions.

My phone loses data so much that I can't download a different ROM. Doesn't matter where its 3g or wifi, my phone constantly loses signal just long enough to disconnect and cause any large downloads to fail. If there isn't a software update for this in the near future I'm going to be so upset because I bought the phone on day 1 which means my 30 day return window at best buy is up tomorrow. If this doesn't change by morning, and I don't see why it will, lol, I guesses I'll have to return the phone for a new one. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. Bout it on day one when Best Buy could only fullfill the pre-orders on the 23rd of May. Sad to see my GF stream netflix on her EVO Shift while I struggled to stream music on my EV0 4G LTE. Don't know if it's worth turning it in for a new one, or if this is just how these phones perform? *SIGH...what to do...what to do? Does it have to be taken in to the same BB you bought it?
I don't know about the same store. I would assume you can take it back to any best buy. I'm thinking real hard about returning this one for a new one tomorrow. I mean, really, how much will it suck if I have to replace it through sprint insurance if its the phone? A $200 deductible now, that's crazy. I didn't pay $200 for the phone, why sink another $200 in it?

If I were you I would take it back and exchange it for a new one. I just got mine last week and thus far haven't had a single problem downloading large files over wifi with mine. I can also stream pandora/iheartradio over 3g with no problems.
I always get the Best Buy Blacktie warranty for only $8/mo. I can swap the phone with no hassle. But I am really now considering on trading this in for a new one before the 30 days. At least I can hope that I get a better one with a clean activation. I still can't believe how bad data is on this phone. :crying:
I had the best buy insurance until I actually had to use it. To get a new phone, the have to send it out 4 times and have it come back still broken or unfixed. Each time they send it out it takes about a week to week and a half to get it back. Took me over a month and a half to get an old Evo replaced. At that time, I would have gladly given the hundred dollar deductible sprint charges. But now its $200 and I'm looking to have to use it within the first couple months? This is ridiculous.

I've found that it's not losing a data connection, Sense is killing the download.
My solution was to go to the settings, check the option to keep the screen on while charging. Then download the file while attached to the charger. Don't do anything else until the download finishes.
By keeping the download in the foreground, Sense won't kill it.
I'm now on Deck's CM9 build for this exact reason.

That's exactly what I did last night. I couldn't sleep so I set the phone to screen off never and I stared at it like a watched pot. For 515 mb. Lol. There has to be a workaround or an update in the future for this.

I'm not flaming anyone but woukdnt it be good practice to download on a laptop then just push the file to the sd card? That has always been how I download roms. Laptops seem to download faster anyway

I was wondering why my Titanium Backup syncs (to Google Drive or Dropbox) weren't completing overnight! Thanks. I'm going to try this and see if it'll finish.
I would do that DJ, but I don't have a laptop right now. My 3 year old knocked it of the desk and broke it

Agreed. Wi-Fi has been just fine, as well as streaming video or music. We all know Sprint sux. But it can only get better from here. I dumped Verizon just to come back here. In due time everyone. THings will pan out

Sorry for the bad experience bud I can tell you that the geek squad protection has gotten a lot better. Now it does not take more than 3-5 days to get another one. For some reason actually the past 4 phones I send out they get it by the next day. Avg for us is about 2 days but it all varies by location of nearest service center from you. Still 3-5 days a good estimate on getting one back. Yes it is a.refurb phone also. If your uber lucky it could be new. Sent my buddies note out and he got a brand new one back. Sent others before and they were refurbs. Guess he has lucky lol

Wait, so they don't replace them on the spot anymore? That's too bad. Ř years ago I got my first smartphone. Blackberry Bold (still love it ) and got it from BestBuy. But back then, they would replace it on the spot. No shipping.but, its better than nothing I guess. I should ha e gone to BB. They would have given me $200 for my Verizon GN, and plus the gift card. Ahh well

That used to be the case for me, but with the LTEvo, I'm getting 30Mbps on the download. My laptop's never seen better than 25 on the same network.
I'm glad that the workaround I'd working for some. I've also heard that ROM Toolbox on a mild setting for performance may do the trick. I'm trying that now.

I flashed CM9 and I haven't dropped data once. I'm running 1x a lot because of where I'm at, but at least I'm still connected.

You do know there is an app out that disables smart sync? Just search smart sync in the market. It keeps the phone from disconnecting data when sleeping

I may be wrong, but I don't think this particular issue is smart sync. I have issues downloading files even when the phone isn't sleeping. If I put the download in the background while using another app. It is nearly impossible to download a ROM without keeping it in the foreground.
Either way, can you name the app?

When I was in an lte area my data would cut out before connecting to lte. When I went to the same area it had blocked me from connecting to lte but data would still drop out for a sec when trying to connect to lte. Just a thought. Maybe yall are about to get lucky with some lte goodness

Thinking about trading my EVO in for a Samsung Galaxy S3 before my 30 days is up. My past 3 phones were made by HTC. LOVED them all. Only Samsung phone I ever owned was the Instinct. Garbage...I love this phone but can't stand the signal dropping in and out all the time and the proximity sensor only works less than half the time. 1 more gig of ram wouldn't hurt either. Should I do it?

its all personal preference , personally im not a fan of samsung build quality compared to htc's , but its all up to you , spend time playing with both phones

Sounds more like a defective unit to me.. my signal doesnt bounce around.
I had a chance to play with the new galaxy. I used to have the first epic, then the epic touch. Honestly, New tw4 is awful to me, makes ics way ugly and bloated. Sense is pretty good, other than multitasking. Personally, I wouldn't get the new gs3 unless there was a way stable cm9 for it.
Yes, I know that with source it is very much possible, but, just like with gs2, there's no real profile and prl update option. I've noticed that over time, network performance degrades big time when compared to other devices.

personally ive considered doing this as well but i always change my mind (i still need to play with the GSIII) simply because i know that cm9 and aokp stable versions will come to the ELTE at some point and with that i have 2 options in sense and stock...i feel like samsung doesnt provide that simply cuz touchwiz i feel isnt worth it at all
Coming from the Galaxy S2 I wouldn't go back to touchwiz. The new Galaxy is great but personally I like HTC sense and the EVO design better.

FYI, signal has nothing really to do with the phone and everything to do with your location. So going to get a new phone that will have the same issues is kinda ...ummmm.......stupid. But to each his own.

I'd just go check one out in a store (when available) and go from there. I've read a little in the GS3 forums and it looks like some are getting poor reception (possibly due to a weak radio?), so keep that in mind.
