I'm just about to install myself and check it out. I loved using this on my ipod touch, and can now share the love with my android. It seems like a good alternative to Xposed!
Update: So far been running without a hiccup. I installed Cydia Substrate and Winterboard and they work flawlessly. UI/UX of the the apps can use some polishing, but so can every initial release!
Not what I expected.

So I am an Apple fanboy lol (Although I've always loved Android too, just always had iPhones). So you can imagine my excitement when Winterboard came to the play store.
After I downloaded both substrate and Winterboard, I tried activating one of my Icon themes. After I hit "Restart Zygote" the phone rebooted like normal, but once it was back on, all my apps were crashing. I couldn't open anything. Once I restarted my phone, I was stuck in a boot loop. Tried everything I could but ended up having to re-flash stock firmware through ODIN.
I have used Winterboard on almost every iPhone I've ever owned. I upgraded from the iPhone 5 to the Galaxy S4. I have about 4 years of jailbreaking under my belt and have never had this happen with Winterboard. I'm 99% certain it was not user error, but I'm not ruling out that possibility.
Point is, I won't be using Winterboard for quite a while. Just wanted to let people know this boot loop is a possibility.
Too each their own lol. I went to android for a reason

I installed it. It works like xPosed but according to the dev you can hook native code not just java, and even hook native deamons. If it is useful devs wil use it to do things, if not just one more app I have on my phone.

For people having problems try this :
Google Play App Description said:
If, while using WinterBoard, you run into any problems (such as it crashes on boot, preventing your device from starting), please remember that Substrate has a safety feature built into it: you can hold your device's volume up button to temporarily disable Substrate so that WinterBoard is not loaded, and then your device boots correctly.

Yeah no that didn't work for me...the phone wasn't actually bootlooping, it just kept on booting into recovery mode. I'd actually rather it have bootlooped, in which case I could have used ADB to delete the lib file that loaded the substrate (or maybe the up-button fix would have had a chance to work).
Had to flash system img from Odin.

Just installing the apps didn't do anything harmful, it was when I went into the Substrate app and installed the framework (or whatever it is) and that's when the recovery loop started.
So you installed the framework within the app itself and it worked fine for you??

When I installed the substrate it worked fine. It was only after I selected an icon pack through winterboard and hit "restart zygote" to apply it did it start recovery looping.

In the description it says it allows you to use the themes from the play store without using custom launchers. It also says that it works with virtually all if them. To me, that implies that any one you download can be used.
Although since it is very new on Android and doesn't work the same as on iOS, I could be completely wrong haha

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to install the AOSP stock browser onto a rooted stock Sony SGP311? I prefer this browser than Chrome on Android tablets. I like Chrome on the computer but not so much on the Android version. Plus I would like to have flash support.
I've tried CM10.1 and the stock AOSP browser, which I loved but I missed the stock IR software, so I went back to stock Sony but rooted with unlocked bootloader.
Help?
not sure if aosp browser works on stock but u can try extracting the aosp browser from the cm10.1 zip and try copying it us root explorer or a similar app. copy and goes to systems/apps folder. paste it and change permissions to match the rest of the apps and reboot
Sent from my SGP311 using xda app-developers app
Is it really that simple? I've tried installing our but it keeps saying that there is a parsing issue.
Can you force an app into the systems/app folder and reboot? I thought you had to install it and change some permissions on a couple of other apk files related to the browser.apk? Which I have also tried without success.
Sent from my SGP311 using Tapatalk HD
when u force the app.u need to change permission. yes u will always get parse issue since it is a pure system app that's all it will try to b. but i can't guaranteed aosp browser will work on stock..but check lightning browser out in development section. it looks good for stock.

Rooted my phone using the Vroot method and did some surveying with permission manager, xPrivacy and I stumbled upon a mysterious app called MtkCamera (com.example.cameraroot). I have no recollection of ever installing this app. I find this suspicious because I use permission manager on other phones running ICS and never have to deal with this app before. Considering all the apps listed are installed from Google Play Store, I decided to restrict all permission and uninstall the app. Check out the permissions list.

So the reason some people do not have can be simply because they do not have a TW firmware. Have a TW firmware and got it after vroot. But where would be the point for vroot to put a malicious apps on your phone when they can do anything they want while rooting your device? Change network connectivity
Connect and disconnect wifi

This is not even working fully yet. I lost track of this due to working on GPE ROM. When I have more time I can check why it is not fully working.
From what I have seen the only way to ad other devices would be for LG to allow it. LG encrypts their IR blaster so only devices listed in the quickset device profile work if LGs IR blaster unless someone can crack the encryption. You can search play store for quickset and install the version from play store to see if it has more devices but IR not working yet on AOSP based ROMs yet.

Oh okay, I take it the reason it was working before is because then I was on LG's ROM not an AOSP rom? If this is case, would the backup I made of the LG ROM be of any use? I could pull out the quick remote app or something.

I no longer have v500, returned it and waiting for my v510 to get here. Hopefully we can figure something out that works on both models.
If you check in the G2 themes and apps forum there is a way to get QRemote working with AOSP ROMs and maybe the same method and/or files will work on G Pad.

My friend got it working on his g2 by just download an apk, but trying to put that apk on a v500 (running cm11) unfortunately does not work.
I reckon you'd need a lot of LG framework in order to make this work on AOSP. I wont stop you tho, would be neat. ^^
