[Q] Stock Music Player, CM10 - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I have a Galaxy Player 5.0, USA running CM10 (4.2.2) Well, I was wondering.... does anyone know how to, or be able to make available, the stock Jellybean/ICS music player? I'd really appreciate it.

apollo? its in the play store

Im sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant the Stock Jellybean music player, like the official 4.2.2, if I had gotten the device fresh out of the box. That seems to be one of the only apps I miss, is the true stock music player.

Slight problem with that. Different manufacturers use different apps. If you mean google play music, then that is also in the play store

Google Music Force Close

Running Calkulin's ROM and Pershoot's latest kernel. Got my invite, loaded Google Music app, uploaded a ton of songs, can see my library on the Cloud, but force closes everytime I try to play a song. Any ideas?
Anyone else seeing this, or am I the only one?
Pershoot's kernel doesn't play nice with froyo. Clemsyn's kernel doesn't play nice with ginger. Here's the rule of thumb: froyo use clemsyn, ginger use pershoot.
CM7.0.3 stable plays Google Music from cloud not perfect but Ok.
Can anyone using Calkulin's ROM and Clemsyn's kernel confirm that Google Music is working? Pershoot has been really good to me with Calkulin, so I'm hoping to hear from someone prior to making the switch.
Went ahead and made the switch to Clem, still get immediate force close whenever I try to stream music. Like before, I can see my entire music collection, but can't play anything. Any other thoughts?
Are you overclocking? Try not to.
Also, did you try sample tracks from Google music or just yours?
Can you play mp3 from sdcard using Google music player?
Disabled oc with Pimpmygtab, still force closes. In light of the fact that no one else has chimed in that it's working for them with this combo, I assume this is a common problem. Local files seem to play ok on Tab, but it defeats the purpose of Google Music and the 60 gb of uploaded music. At least it works fine on my Droid X!

Well, that means something going wrong with streaming with this rom/Google player.

Working great on VeganTab with Pershoot's kernel.
That's another Ginger-based ROM through, right? Perhaps Google Music just doesn't work with Froyo-based ROMs.

I don't have my tablet yet. Getting it on Monday! On the Droid X Google Music doesn't work if ads are being blocked. Haven't read enough about the tablet to know if ad blockers are used.

Google Music-ICS

Works great until you actually try and play a song. Its really, really smooth. Anyone else have any luck getting it to play songs?
Edit: Songs work when selecting "Shuffle All". Love the new additions.
Did they add the ability to "thumb up/thumb down" a track from the app?

I love it! It's working fine on my Galaxy S II but on my Tab, like OP stated, if I try to play a song, I get a force close
I'm using 3.1, non TW.
BTW: I tried using the app both in /system/app/ (got Force Closes) and also installed it "regularly" (still force closes). Such a pity. I really like how it works on my phone. Was looking forward to using it on my Tab. If anyone figures out how to get it to work, please let us know!
Working when shuffeling songs...otherwise not.
DEVS - thats your call!
P.S - Search Working, you can find your songs and play them, if you like.
force closes for me on stock HC. shame...
It's built for ICS. Getting it to work properly on HC would involve complete reconstruction of system files. A difficult feat indeed.
strange: works on my 2.3.7 cyanogenmod 7.1 Nexus One
forcecloses after a while on my Galaxytab 10.1 with Honeycomb 10.1.
Works flawless on my Droid 3 (XT860) but since I'm in Canada it won't sync with Music Beta any more
EDIT
Works now, had to kill the service and re-clear app data, love it! And yes millemots, they added thumbs up/down

Doesn't mess up any Contacts processes?
Is there any solution to hear google music without shuffeling all songs, i got a force close as others here, is there another working google music apk? For Honeycomb 3.2 on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1?

This is not relevant anymore. The Google Music found in the market is newer than this. Uninstall Google Music and https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.music&hl=en
awesome! thanks!!!

Need the original Fascinate Music app

I really miss the music player that came with my Fassy originaly.
Nothing wrong with the stock ICS player, but I'm just really use to the one I had.
I can't find the apk for it anywhere. (I can find the stock froyo player, but not the one the phone came with)
Could anyone point me in the right direction please?. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
You're using ICS? Unfortunately, the stock touchwiz player only works with touchwiz ROMs. Same for the video player, calculator, etc.
If you still want the file, you can get it at this location.

Latest Play Music update drops Nexus Q Support

It looks like Google finally dropped Nexus Q support. With the music streaming issues lately, some hoped they would fix it. Well, they did. You won't be having streaming issues anymore, because you can't do it at all. Sad day for us Nexus Q owners...
The question on my mind is: what to do now with this piece of hardware? My previous concerns about putting CM on it are now moot. I'm thinking of making it an independent media server. XBMC + CM 10?
What are all of you going to do next?
Does CM 10 include support for the speaker outputs?
Last I tried it was HDMI only

so I downloaded the AP K from a Chinese website so I could decompile it without having to root my own phone, and the icons are all still there. Maybe a glitch is preventing it from showing?
I posted on another thread wondering if the bluetooth can just be made discoverable so you can connect to it like a car stereo for streaming.

Sad indeed. It the most beautiful piece of useless technology I own now.
Fine, I understand they're killing the Q. I hate the fact that they're doing it, but as they said - no one really paid for it, atleast not paid Google.
But help me understand this, is there anything that can now replace spotify and apple-TV from Google? I'm loving the all access music service from Google but i still don't have the possibility to send songs to a media center, right?
Or can Google TV solve this?
Vol
Well, Maybe There is a chance... CM10 and the google play músic 5 apk... The thing is how to use it without a mouse or a bt Key board

This may be a stupid question, but can the previous Music app be "resigned" so it isn't updated or seen by the Play Store? Could the new Music app then be installed side by side with the altered Music app so we still get Q streaming abilities (with the old app) and then use the new Music app for All Access?
Modaco did something like this with TweakDeck. You could use both TweakDeck and TweetDeck side by side on the same device.

While it may not be the official method, I have Google Play Music sideloaded onto my CM10.1 Nexus Q and it works just fine, even since the update they announced at Google IO (with the orange UI).
If you have cm10.1 you can now download google music in the store this still need a proper app to control it from your phone like apple tv. Also does anyone know what kind of development is going on with it in cms side?

I'm up for doing this, but how do you control it? bluetooth mouse? or does it still connect up to the music app on your phone/tablet?
I'm pretty unhappy about this too. I bought my Q on EBay prior to the announcement that they weren't actually releasing it. I've pretty much built my whole music system around it so not being able to control it will make me go back to using an iPod - something I REALLY don't want to do!! I uninstall the update on my Razr HD and the old version still seems to work but I've not had any luck doing the same thing yet on my Xoom that's running EOS 4 (4.2.2). I may see if I can pull the apk from my Razr HD and install it on the Xoom.

You can control it with a bluetooth mouse, keyboard, remote etc. It doesn't allow you to use your phone/tablet as the playlist manager like the stock Nexus Q functionality, instead you get a fancy widescreen tablet style Google music interface on your TV and you navigate your music and play direct from there.
Am I right that there is no way to get analog output to work with CM to use it headless with some remote app and without TV plugged?
I'm looking for a meaningful solution aswell. We bought one of ebay and loved using it since our small circle of friends are all using google music so it made a lot of sense to us. If it were possible to keep to seperate gmusic apks on the phone that would already be enough I guess.
A good solution would be worth 100€ to us.

Here it is (the previous Q equipped Google Music APK), along with the Nexus Q APK (in case it drops from the store and anyone still needs it), and the Q equipped YouTube, because I'm sure its next update will remove support...
Please just give me a thanks if you take any of these!

Sec MediaProvider.apk

I rooted and ran a debloater tool. Sad thing is it deleted my music player. I tried to replace it and it didn't work. I some how deleted the Sec mediaprovider.apk as well. Any clue how to fix this. I'd hate to have to use my old phone. I'm lost on how to install / replace them. Any help would be amazing.
Thanks in advance
PowerAmp. Or Google Play Music.

Just use Google Play Music as a music player... That's what I use to play music. The stock Samsung is super ugly in my opinion. What version of android are you on? Bootloader?

I never thought about branching out before. I just been using that since most of my music is on my sdcard. Anyway the Media provider apk is more what i'm worried about since my phone doesn't have any ringtones or notification tones. I'm currently running rooted 5.0.1 and I think the bootloader is still samsung. I need to sit down and install cwm just haven't yet.
Thanks!
