I am interested on getting a tablet on June. I'll be using it for mostly reading, watching videos and movies, surfing and working. I am highly interested in the N10 for the hardware and also for being a Nexus device. I've never owned a nexus device but I think it should be better than the crappy Samsung's interface, right? Also, thought about the N7 but the lack of JB 4.2, the camera and the screen is pushing me back...although both sizes fit me well.
I've read a few threads and I've tried to search for I/O predictions but I'm not lucky. So, is it worth it to buy the N10 on June? Is the pogo charger worth it?

the next nexus tablet even if it announces at google i/o, it most probably won't be on sale before nov/dec. So you got another few months for the n10. And considering it's a nexus device, you'll be supported by Google on updates for a longer time even if new tablets come out.
If you keep on thinking wait for the next one, you'll never be able to buy one since new devices nowadays come out way too quick.
for the pogo charger cable, in my opinion it definitely worth it. prevents wear on your usb port, charges faster and very easy to plug/unplug (magnet).

Thanks a lot for your answer. I'm not that kind of person who follows technology just when it is released. I just thought that If there as going to be a new nexus, with better hardware at the same price, on June or July, I could wait. If it is on December or something, then I'm good with the nexus 10.
I just have to check light bleeding (no idea what it is) according to some threads here.
About the pogo, thanks too.

Had my N10 roughly less than 2 months now. Came from the N7. Difference in speed and responsiveness was huge!
Bought the magnetic pogo pin as well. Definitely worth investing in.
New Nexus tablet? Probably in December 2013
coming from an iPad for almost one month
I would say definitely worth to buy the N10 now. New set probably be released end of the year.
POGO charger definitely worth the money (i think could have been included or cheaper but i have no regrets) i feel more comfortable with a (non wearing off port)
Just grab it. I've had mine for about a month or two now and it's been great. Check out the sony tablet z as well. It has some pros over the nexus but some cons as well, but it looks like another good choice.
Thanks guys. I'll be moving to US in a few days and I'll be buying in a week or so. Also, never heard of the xperia z...seems interesting!

I bought 1 back in December and have had 0 problems with it. Geez enough already. Everyone and their dog knows you hate the Nexus 10. You don't need to spam every thread reiterating your hate.
Look, there is more than black and white to this. There can be an opinion between "Love it or hate it". Some people like the tablet just fine and accept some shortcomings which they are looking for possible answers for here on XDA for example. Others have low expectations and are overly happy with the tablet. And again others - like yourself - spent money and are disapointed for whatver reason and they voice their opinion. That's fine and there are threads even on this forum - several of them - where voicing your opinion is perfectly fine. You did that, others did as well, that's cool.
But there are threads where this is not appropriate, where mouthing off about the product when a simple question has been asked is not the way to respond on an open forum. That makes it very hard to have a reasonable discussion on the topic asked. I do not understand why it would make you happy to derail every question asked into a "Nexus 10 sucks, do not buy it!" thread. Heck I do not even own the tablet and find it annoying!
I do not want to censor anything, just want to ask for your cooperation with the users here. None of them are at fault if your tablet is not working the way you think it should.

Hi,
can you particularly tell what N10 has over Z and vice versa. It would be helpful for me and/or others who are about to be in dilemma of choosing between these two.
Can only go by specs at this point in time as the reviews are far and few between.
Z would have a snapdragon S4pro processor which may or may not be an improvement over that Exynos 5 dual core, hard to tell, but due to the lower resolution performance will maybe be better especially in games. 1080p screen, SD card slot which may be the killer argument for some. However it is running on 4.1.2 at release with Sony promising an open approach in regards to AOSP development, a policy they have recently adapted. Still, it will be third party development. The Z is also dust and water resistant wich is a nice and potentially useful gimmick.
We all know the specs of the N10, the next step would be a head to head comparison by some independent website.

I'm not particularly worried; I actually posted some thoughts about Google I/O earlier today:
http://www.theverge.com/2013/4/10/4209366/a-prediction-for-google-i-o
I'm quite happy with Android 4.1, so I guess it depends what KLP brings, but it's hard to imagine Google bringing anything that would make me want to abandon HTC's awesome camera software (which is one of the reasons I personally prefer HTC phones).
I bought a One XL last year around the same time, and Google I/O didn't make me regret that decision. Besides, this time I'll have a One XL I can mess around with if I want to install CM11 or something.

Precisely. Personally, I feel HTC is on the brink of a huge change, they've already dropped the source code and the phone hasn't even shipped in US yet! Also, it will definitely help to have the same device across several carriers (Even international ones!)
I feel the winds of change wafting from HTC and I must say, I love it.

I am definitely super-excited that the international and NA versions of the HTC One use the same chipset - that was one of the big issues with the One X and One XL last year.
This phone will get key lime pie without a doubt.

Not to be the voice of doom or piss in anyone's Cheerios but HTC's in a world of hurt. The shipping delay for the One's cost them dearly financially and now its actual availability is going to bump up against Samsung's gazillion dollar marketing budget for the SGS4. Samsung also co-ops heavily with the U.S. carriers for advertising and provides big sales incentives down to the associate level. And if you walk in to a Best Buy you'll be greeted by Samsung's "Experience" sound and light show while a dummy One sits lonely and tethered to an end-cap somewhere next to a "free" LG Phone. With a Nexus 5 possible at I/O, an iP5s and lower-cost iPhone in June, Motorola's "Phone X," a Note III, and LG's 1080P 5" and 5.5" Optimus Pro Plus' all due by fall, the One's going to get lost in a sea of other devices a few months after launch because of HTC's (now even more) limited promotional budget. They have a tough road to hoe and 2013 will determine their future.

I believe they will, considering this is HTC's flagship phone.
This is an easy one for me. I'll just keep my Nexus 4 around until I/O. If what Google shows at I/O wows me and I can get it on the Nexus 4, I'll consider selling the One, but DAMN, it would have to be some mind blowing software for me to give up such amazing hardware and go back to a slower processor, worse screen, worse camera, worse speaker, cheaper materials, and no LTE.

Whole argument is stupid in my opinion. It's clearly cut black and white. If you want immediate updates to current version of android go for a nexus. If you want real hardware get the HTC One. Unless HTC builds a nexus the new one won't be special.
I don't know why people buy carrier subsidized phones then complain when it stays a version behind. The phone company is there to make money. Put on your big boy pants and go nexus or shut up about it. It's really that simple

It's not perfect but there are many things about the Nexus 10 that are better than the iPad 4. There's no denying that the difference between the iPad 3 and 4 is smaller than the difference between the first and second or the second and third and the iPad 4 has suffered because of it.
I had Sony Xperia Tablet S. Now I.m happy owner of Nexus 10 It's amazing device. Beautiful display, nice design, fast. No crash at all Really stable Tablet. My wife also love it Now I have more time for playing when she has Nexus is her hands hehe. For me best tablet so far.

I dunno, there's a pretty significant difference between the iPad 3 and 4 under the hood-- the thing is that Apple got the interface problem solved a long, long time ago, and given what kinds of games most people play on their tablets (casual things like Angry Birds), it's not like your average consumer will notice anything changed besides the Lightning port over 30-pin.
As an iPad 3 launch day buyer, I was annoyed by the quick release of the iPad 4 (because those differences do matter to me, especially the processor bump), but my iPad 3 serves me well enough already and I like having the option of using a 4:3 tablet if I feel like it. The Nexus 10's not half bad in portrait, but it always makes me feel a tad ridiculous.
Just bought an Nexus 10 second hand. I know a new one is around that corner but just couldn't wait. Had a look at the Toshiba Pro tegra 4 at my local store but it didn't impress me. It was a bit laggy.
Fingers crossed it will come tomorrow.

I really like the Nexus 10, it's a very fast device, also has a nice battery life! Another thing I really liked is the screen and how good it is to use to watch Movies/Anime/Series/etc, I feel comfortable holding it. With Android 4.3 update my device became even faster and the freezings it used to have stopped.
I won't talk about iPad, as I'm an open Apple Hater, so don't discuss with me it, unless you want me to show my "other side" lol! By the way, I got my Nexus 10 after coming from Motorola Xoom, which was still a great device

honestly ill sacrifice removable battery for waterproofness
lots of companies make extended battery cases that can be used if the battery doesnt fare well
BUT it should be expected to not have a removable battery on an HTC device now days, all their phones are built unibody
Luckily enough I'm not a clumsy person but I do give my note hell sometimes
2$HAYNE
I'm freaking out man! Definitely getting this or the note 3. s dragon 800 is looking mighty tasty. If the HTC has an SD card I'm kind of leaning that way. My logical side tells me my i717 running carbon/ uber is more than fine for anything i do. But I like new shiny stuff so #$%# logic.
Non removable batteries can be shaped anyway they want. That's why the Z Ultra is so thin. As for the HTC I like the Speakers and the Screen size. But the triluminous on the Z Ultra is part of Sony's 4k technology and thats nice. I just don't like the door hatches to the ports and it may be to big for my pocket. As for Note 3 all I've heard was Snapdragon 800, 2.5 GB ram, and a new design format but I think its going to look like a bigger S4. We'll find out in Sept for the Unpack Event.

It might be true that the average user doesn't use the SPen, but its also true that most people don't spend the time it takes to learn how to use it right. It's extraordinarily efficient to use with the gestures and handwriting-to- text. Just try using S Note with your finger. You'll get much better results with the S Pen haha.
Most think of drawling when it comes to the Note...but performance, screen size, and screen quality have always been the major attraction for all users with the Note.
The Note 3 is shaping up to be a monster of a device, and I find it unlikely that the major players will release anything close to it in the near future. HTC already made their move this year, Motorola doesn't seem to make high end phones anymore, and LG just doesn't have the mind share or reputation (although they may be a bit more deserving since the latest Optimus/Nexus combo release).

Are you kidding? Plastic rectangles were hott almost 3 years ago.
Anyways, I think that 99.999% of the geeks I know wouldn't buy a Sony unless the other companies stopped making smart phones. The latest round is impressive. But I need a bit more encouragement that Sony has truly changed before I get anywhere near any of their products. The Xperia line ruined it for me.
Things are starting to look up for them, and LG though.

Why on earth would you choose that? If the Note 3 has the Snapdragon 800, its going to be a beast.
It might be true that the average user doesn't use the SPen, but its also true that most people don't spend the time it takes to learn how to use it right. To be honest I wasn't familiar with the Ultra Z. That's sexy too, imo. And I couldn't care less about a snapdragon 800, or even a 600. I game on my device for maybe 30 seconds at a time -- that's what consoles and my HTPC are for -- so I really only need a processor capable of running baconreader and Chrome.
And, fair enough with the spen. I've never bothered learning what it could do, which is why I asked. Your reply almost makes me debate putting a samsung ROM back on just so I can play with it for once.

sounds like there is no need for you to upgrade other than getting an upgrade.I do most my gaming on a pc also. with faster SOC comes more capabilities. Windows xp is insanely fast on a P4 2gb of ram and a SSD. But you cant run dx11 on it. Like any upgrade .. you are going to be able to do stupid things faster. Sooner rather than later the smart phone will be your main processing device. You will just hook it up do all sorts of accessories(tv,gamepads,VR headsets etc etc) This just totally turned into a small rant. I by no means dont think you already now this. I'l move on now...Rant over.
Oh definitely not, and definitely to the rest. I don't need an upgrade due to need of faster stuff; however, marketing is a *****, and I know I'll bite the bullet sooner or later. To be honest, the only thing I'm truly wanting, when I take out the "the new stuff is flashy" factor, is better battery life. Sporting a 5200mah battery just to hang with the Wife's note 2 is ridiculous. It makes me wonder what one of those 9000mah batteries could do on her Note 2.

HA. I feel your pain. I got i717 and the wife has the note 2. I'm constantly blabbling on about rom this, kernel that, about how awesome my phone is with carbon/uber. I usually only get out of her.. my phone is better.
Still a fan of the og screen ....I heard screens are very similar anyways

He he. I was a bit burnt by the time I posted that...spent all day fixing S3's. A small business client if mine likes to root his devices, and when he couldn't copy and paste due to a stock sprint software bug, he decided to wipe them. Finding instructions to do so on a random thread here. Needless to say, they wouldn't boot....because a wipe isn't what he thought it was.
And although the Ultra Z could be a bit more ergonomic...I suppose its just the sharp corners and the über-bad build quality, and update/support history of the Xperia line (x10 and pre-x10 days) that has haunted me and so many of my friends that makes me feel yucky even looking at it. I haven't gotten a chance to hold the Z Ultra, but assuming the build quality is good (it likely feels solid, judging from the dimensions and slimness alone), the only thing that dissuades me is...again, the corners, which makes the phone look like its a couple years old already. I'd really love to play around with one though.
At one point I was looking at their tablets, but again, square corners make your spankin' new device look like it's an AARP founding member, and aren't very forgiving on the hands.
I still maintain that the screen, and internals are what makes the Note a compelling device, but the Z Ultra isnt a slouch.
I do like the buttons....
I'll be sticking with my Note until I see what the Note 3 has to offer. I'll decide then between the Note 3 or S4 (is the Snapdragon 800 S4 coming to the US?), mainly because I know what I'm getting, and, I'm a fan of the over-saturated AMOLED displays.

I'm definitely getting one of these!
Speakers
I really hope this is just a design some one has done as I would really miss the front facing speakers make the decision weather to get it that bit harder

The original source of the story, phonearena.com has cast doubt on it since the picture was photo shopped and they checked their records on the tipster: (I cannot post links yet, but it was easy to find with Google)
From their article:
UPDATE: After a more extensive research, we believe that these are likely fake. This is not simply because the icons on the Nexus 10 2013 were obviously added later -- this could have been done for illustrative purposes anyway. It's because, after delving deep into our tips database, we concluded that this particular tipster has a track record of sending content of dubious authenticity

I am not saying either is fake, and I am hopeful it is announced/released soon, but phonearena added a caveat to their story, and it is the source all the other's are quoting or copying from. So I remain hopeful but suspect.
I hope it isn't fake, but who knows?
I do find it really odd that there have been so many Nexus 5 leaks but nothing on the new 10 yet.
The designs leaked so far look superb, and I would definitely be wanting to get one.

Have to agree with you on those two points.
The only things I don't like are the cost and all the Samsung bloatware. Not sure if I'd use the S pen either....

I thought that, until I used it for a week. Now the bloatware is coolware in how S pen integrates with the environment so well.
After using a system that has S Pen, I'm not sure I could work without one.
I used a capacitive stylus with my Nexus 10, and seriously there is NO COMPARISON to S Pen. S Pen has the ability to register the pressure and more, so the ability to the graphic artist is a leap over SIMPLE TOUCH.
Yeah, it's that cool, if you'll use the stylus. Even casual note taking is great.
I think this is the reason Microsoft added it to the Surface 2.
Touch alone is sooo 2009/2010.
I would not get a tablet with such a tiny bezel. I love the Nexus 10's bezel. The rounded sides are also quite nice. I think it's highly underrated.

I don't think they would release a Nexus device without a major Android update and I don't think they would release updates so close together...but I could be wrong.

Oh.. I think you'll see TWO new Nexus 10 models.
Nexus 10 from Samsung with existing specifications and 64GB.
Nexus 10 from Samsung with 64GB and unlocked sim LTE.
The 16GB will be retired (just like the Nexus 7 8GB edition was). 32GB will be the new low end.
Just like the Nexus 7 line that had the 32GB and 3G/HSPA+ models silently release, the Nexus 10 updates will also be a silent release (no launch party).
But with the changes, you'll see the pricing drop so that the 64GB is close to the same pricing the 32GB is currently.
Launch party will be Nexus 5 and Kitkat 4.4
I have to give my friends Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition back this week. Based on the experience, the S Pen truly compels, but I'm going to stick with my N10 for a while longer. July 2014 is when you'll likely see the N10 2014 edition.
I thought Asus was making the new Nexus 10.

Are they? Posted on their website yet?
You are reading media hype until it actually ships.
Lets see the proof:
1. Point of sale system shows "ASUS" made N10. Has anyone entering data for stores/warehouses never made a mistake, not once?
2. Leaked Press "render". If I was part of the press, I could photo-chop all sorts of tablets and say it's a render based on educated guesses. Stretch an ASUS N7 and folks looking at it would say, "hey that looks like ASUS!"
Questions:
A. Where are the parts order news items you normally see with the ramp up of a product? Usually there'll be leaks of the back shell, etc.
B. Samsung wouldn't have this as they are not just a parts assembly company, it's all in house for the most part. ASUS would have LDC panel orders, etc. Yet it's oddly quiet.
C. What was Sundar Pichai saying? Sure the head of Chrome and Android teams could be wrong, or his quote was taken out of context by Amir Efrati.
So I'm kind of amazed there isn't a thread on this rumor yet. What better way to reenter the tablet market than with a nexus! For me, personally, this is a dream come true. I think that HTC uses the best displays of any manufacture currently and I would love to see one in a tablet. Maybe a 2k slcd4?

Considering the price of Nexus devices, I don't think HTC, if it makes the next gen Nexus 10, will use aluminum metal body. Samsung already did a good job in terms of build quality of the current Nexus 10.
Hope next gen Nexus 10 can be as light as the iPad Air.

I would take all these rumours with a pinch of salt and then add another sack of the stuff.Wasn't that long ago we were hearing various release date rumours and now we are hearing rumours of a new manufacturer.Basically Google haven't even found a supplier yet let alone a delivery date! Personally I don't think there will be a replacement hence why I bought the old nexus 10 after waiting and waiting and waiting and eventually giving up on RUMOURS of a new device coming soon.I do hope to be prooved wrong though.
I posted a comment about a future Nexus 10 when the current one ran out of stock in US. It was sometime ago, but I'd like to share how the next Nexus 10 should be for me .
(when asked what would the next Nexus 10 should have) For now I will keep my Nexus 10, it's still a beast device as I stated and I like to keep my high end devices for at least 2 years. But there are some things that could be upgraded ^^.
First - More storage. I bought the 32GB and I still think it's not enough. Probably a 64 or 128GB version would be amazing, as it's a media consumption device it requires storage, as not everyone can use cloud services, and a full HD movie is quite big.
Second - Add LTE option like they did with Nexus 7.
Third - Use Snapdragon 805 or Tegra K1 processor, they are true beasts, and tablets need to push more pixels, so a better graphics processor is important.
Fourth - If going with the Tegra K1, it would be an interesting (actually it's more of a dream of mine here, very hard for this to happen now) to have a 4K screen, current Nexus screen is already killer, a 4K would be a mass destruction device lol. While it's still a dream the 4K screen on it, they could make it LED at least, so the complaints of light bleeding would reduce drastically.
Fifth - Samsung, Asus, Sony or Motorola create it. Samsung sucks with software, but the software here would be Google, so it's no problem. Asus proved to be a great tablet developer with the last Nexus 7s. Sony has the most beautiful devices ever, and adding water resistance to a Nexus would be very cool. And Motorola developed Xoom, which is a great device and the godfather of Android tablets, would be great to see them developing a new one. (As rumors seems to be, this one won't be any true lol, but I have expectations that HTC can do a good job too).
Sixth - More RAM would be appreciated ^^'.
Seventh - More accessories at a better price would be of great use too.
And I think it's only that I can imagine for the next Nexus. There aren't main flaws on the current one now. Almost all the problems went away with the KitKat upgrade, and I'm happy with it .

I expect there will be a new Nexus 10 because it is out of inventory and has been for about a month.
If they were not restocking it or replacing it with a new one then why is it even listed on the play store site and why does it say check back soon?
When they no longer make or offer something it is removed from the site.
So it seems obvious that something will replace it.
IMO, the rumors of who will build it have no basis.
The sites who post thees articles get paid by the advertisers.
To get paid they need to draw people to the site.
They write one thing one day and something totally different the next, sometimes contradicting themselves.
Personally I heard Sony will build it at Dell and label it as a Samsung tablet and sell it in an HTC box and it will run Android 7.3 (nestle crunch).
