I got Lenovo A830, the phone is really good and rooted the phone by using Lenovo A820 CWM V5.5 recovery. At present I don't see any ROW for this phone, but assume soon it will be out.
The MOD rom available on chinese website A830_SX_V4.0_jack44 is good, but it don't show 3G,G,E icons next to the tower bar, but support 3G video call, this facility is not avaialble in official A830_S113 & S115 rom .
Anyone can please give me some inputs on how to fix 3G,G, E Icon display and add languges.
I need too. Since I moved form A820 (etotalk) to A830 (minideal) the signal is too low in the same place.
Im about to buy this phone but i got 2 question. How much is the internal memory for applications?? and also, have anyone tried any of these roms?? they need to be translated tho

Thanks in advance

Help needed with an incredibly noob problem...
Hi,
I tried to install a custom ROM on a friend's A830 using SP Flash Tools. First I flashed the custom ROM without checking "DA DL All with Checksum", then in my stupidity formatted first "Whole Flash without Bootloader" and then "Whole Flash" (yeah, now I know why you shouldn't do that and how stupid I am). Luckily I managed to somehow unbrick it but now the screen only shows the Lenovo logo with the text "Tool DL Image Fail, uboot blocking by dl info". Some people had success dealing with this error by re-flashing the ROM and checking "DA DL All with Checksum". I tried re-flashing both the official ROM and the custom ROM I originally downloaded several times, along with several attempts at formatting everything but the preloader before flashing, but the error is still there. It's worth noting that the Flash Tools version that came with the official ROM doesn't work for me (when I try to load it it throws some error about trying to write to address 00000000000) for some reason so I used another, so this might be the issue. MTK Droid Tools doesn't recognize the phone and SP Flash Tools only recognizes it when I remove the battery. I'd very much appreciate any help (it's not even my phone…)

I use this Rom from http://www.needrom.com/mobile/lenovo-a830-5/
Does that help?

Hi
I have exactly the same problem as you,
Would appreciate help if anyone knows to solve it.
Please delete this.
I managed to Fix it by using another version of sp flash tool.
I am a new Lenovo A830 owner. Delivered from etotalk on the 29th. When I went to charge the battery the phone recognises that the battery is in it and that the charger is connected however the charge level does not go up. I have left it on overnight and it made no difference, I have wiped the battery stats file, I have tried different cables and chargers and they made no difference. I have contacted the company requesting a new battery and also ordered a few off eBay however they may take a while to be delivered. Can anybody confirm that the issue with my phone is a battery issue or is it a fault with the phone?

Chapter 1: The Foolishness of the User
Hi, I have the korean version of the optimus one(KU3700). It was on gingerbread(2.3.4) stock. I was trying to root it by downgrading it. I entered "adb reboot recovery" and I'm stuck. I tried to reflash it by going to emergency mode with the button combinations using the KDZ updater with this
"csmg. lgmobile. com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGKU3700/AKTFBK/KU370040_00/KU370040_00.kdz"
and it worked without any errors but when it when it came up it was still on recovery mode. Is there any way I can change the phone mode to the regular mode
Chapter 2: Journey to Salvation
For anyone who has this korean optimus one, after days of searching, I've found a web site that gave me hints to solve the problem. I just needed a different kdz file and I got it here:
h t t p://sirospace.tistory.com/category/Android%E2%97%86
popped it in google translate because I'm Filipino and can't read korean.
Downloaded the froyo kdz and flashed. I hope this can help other people stupid enough to play with their phones by typing random commands without knowing what it does, like me, LOL...so happy, now it's time to root
Chapter 3: False Hope
OK so I have successfully unbricked and rooted my KU3700, now The problem I have is installing a custom recovery on this phone, none of the images I try work.
Recovery images I have tried are as follows:
recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-1.1.0.img
recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-2.2.1.img
recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-3.0.6.img
Every time it finishes and reboots, it gets stuck at the LG logo.
Chapter 4: Wisdom Within
Found the problem. The images above are for the P500.Even if the KU3700 hardware is similar to the P500, flashing firmwares made for the other model will result in errors. The same holds true for custom recoveries.
Chapter 5: The Plea to the Gods
I've contacted drellisdee and submitted the files needed for custom recovery creation for the KU3700.
Just waiting for the flash image now. Thank you everyone
Chapter 6: The Forgotten
It seems drellisdee is busy right now. I'm a windows user and knows nothing about programing. So if anybody can help I'm sure the KU3700 community would be greatful. I've attached the files I think are needed to make a custom recovery.
Chapter 7: Quest for the Custom Recovery
I got tired of waiting. So as a windows user with no experience in programming, I did a lot of copying and pasting, I managed to port clockwork mod using virtualbox following this website:
h t t p://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/10/porting-clockwork-recovery-to-new.html
So I have got a bootable and flashable custom recovery but nothing works yet. I still need to configure it according to the device.
I have uploaded the image and the build files. Please help me configure it and tell me what's wrong. I really don't know that I'm doing
PS: you can try flashing the custom recovery by doing "fastboot flash recovery /Path to/recovery.img and you can go to recovery by using android terminal and type "boot recovery". It will boot, but that's that LOL. Take out the battery to boot to normal mode.
Chapter 8: The Holy Grail
LOL, I found the answer again. I was so frustrated that I kept squishing the phone in recovery and found out that it was just a button configuration problem. A bit of research and I found out that I can toggle it by pressing volume up and volume down at the same time. WOOHOO!!! Custom Recovery at last
Chapter 9: Invasion of the ROMS
And here at last, the user is retired. But the adventure is far from over. It is foretold that the creation of the Custom Recovery will begin a new era. The key to open the gate has been found. So our hero will await the invasion of the ROMS<background music...> END

Thank you for the reply but as I said, I can flash fine without errors it's getting back to regular mode I have a problem with. Rebooting and reflashing does not take me out of the recovery screen(it's just a opened box with an orange arrow and the android logo).

This is just a shot in the dark because i didn't understand what you did entirely : have you used the combination to actually recover the stock rom after you flashed with KDZ ? (Home+VolDown+Power)
Yes already did. The computer can see the phone whenever I connect it except that I can't access adb. I may have to take this back to the store

Are you sure you flashed the right rom for your phone? There's an application that downloads the required rom for your phone according to your IMEI/SN, but i don't know if it works with the korean version.
Yes it's the KDZ file, unfortunately it's the only KDZ file out there for ku3700. Shouldn't have settled for this korean version
why you wanna downgrade the latest version?
Dude I have the same Korean edition as you.
Actually why you wanna downgrade the latest version.?
My phone had 2.2.2 and I did upgrade it into 2.3.4 I did it officially and I can tell you How to re-install 2.3.4 if you want.

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to downgrade it to root it. And now I'm rooted. My only problem now is installing a custom recovery. I've already tried several custom recoveries:
recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-1.1.0.img
recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-2.2.1.img
recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-3.0.6.img
but I get stuck at the LG logo when it reboots. I think it's because it's for the p500. So if you have a custom recovery for the ku3700 please help
I dont get it ,p504,p505,p506 are versions of p500??? And why some of our roms work on those phones?? So by logic this stock work on p500???

this method worked for my working KU3700 when I'm using my 1st KU3700 I also was struck as you and finely I realized there are No custom roms for Optimus one Korean edition (KU3700/SU370) and I had to connect my phone to an Octopus box (lg softwere box) via software box installed the official firmware. if this method not working you have to connect to a software box.
connect to the internet your PC and 1st install Driver and 2nd install the LG update tool. after installation connect your phone to computer and wait a five seconds for comport installation. after install your phone Run LG Update application.
it is connect to the server automatically indicating red line and after search for latest firmware.
if you can Update your phone it is shows Update butten.

Thank you all for the quick answers, but I already have a rooted ku3700. All I need now is a working custom recovery. If someone has the same phone, please tell me which image is compatible
you can appear the emergency mood with android logo.
it means you have an Empty phone. your Os was been erased. You have to connect your phone to Octopus software box and box server has you original Os for your IMEI. this is the only solution. if you will able to solve this problem without a Software box please inform me. we can open a New Thread for Korean edition.
(ku3700/su370)
I already got out of the emergency mode without an octobus box. It's really simple, you just need to use a different kdz file. The hard part was looking for the kdz file. I have 3 kdz files. KU370017(froyo), KU370033(gingerbread-rootable), KU370040(latest one from LG, gingerbread-unable to root). Just flash with the KDZ updater. I'm on the second firmware because I can't root the latest firmware. To root it, I used super one click(latest version, use zerg rush option). Now I'm just waiting for a custom recovery from drellisdee so I can use custom roms. When I get it, I'll ask him if I can post it so we all can have uber phones LOL

If you have flashed a working clockworkmod you can enter into clockworkmod via ROMManager (search in google play aka market). In ROMManager you have "reboot to recovery" option in case you want to go to recovery to flash something. Also you can try to flash from ROMManager a custom recovery (5.0.2.0 for oldBB or 5.0.2.7 for newBB), try to choose to phone model LGP500 oldBB, try and test if it's working. Wish you luck.
Thanks but I already have a working recovery. I just need some ROM makers now

Have you tried CM7.2? if your phone is very similar with Optimus One i doubt it isn't compatible with your phone.
If your phone use 2.6.35.10 or 2.6.35.14 kernel you can give a shot to try CM7.2 on your phone, but before try this make a backup first.
Check this thread Post Your CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC1 Nightly Questions HERE!! for CM7 custom rom.
yep, it doesn't work. Is there a tutorial for building cyanogen for unsupported devices? All I can find are tutorials for supported devices. I've already got the source code from LG. The problem is just incorporating it in the cyanogen mod. I wish this phone had more users LOL
Hello!
I need some help and I know this is the place to find it!
I have searched for several days all over the internet trying to read and gather information, and I am coming up short.
I know Bruno Martins has posted some information on his blog on how to "readback" (backup) your current rom for your phone, but there is no information on how to flash the entire ROM package back to your phone (at least with regard to the errors you may receive).
Basically, I am looking for some help on how to backup one of my phones entire rom package and put it on my other phone that I messed up via the Smart Phone Flash Tool (the exact same model: Star Touch Diamond 2 B2000 MT6573).
The new phone works perfect, I have never touched it, my old phone which is the same model I deleted and formatted the system so I need to put the stock rom on.
I was able to do a "backup" of my new phone, but when i try to flash the preloader and uboot, etc, the sp flash tool says error loading file, or region too large with overlap.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
By the way, my phone is not bricked, but I cannot access recovery! I was able to find and install another fully assembled rom to my phone and the phone does power on with lights, but it doesnt have the display driver I need so I cannot see anything.
The reason I flashed another rom was because the phone was essentially bricked and wouldnt do anything, and that was the only rom I could find on the internet that was a full package (preloader, uboot, system, etc) but isnt compatible with phone.
Anyhow, if I understand correctly I need to use hexadecimal calculator to find length of partitions of original phones rom, readback the files, somehow edit the preloader file? then flash them back to the old phone?
Please help!
I would love to make a tutorial of this method with pictures and possible errors for everyone if we could get this solved!
Please point me in the right direction!
And I wanted to thank BRUNO in advance for his hard work and help!!
have you tried the neutrino rom from notorious? its reallllly small around 50mb. you may be able to install that since it so small, then work your way back down? not too sure and i can say im no grandmaster but it might work!
***derp. neutrino... thats for atrix only. but hey same concept. maybe a small barebones rom will get you running enough to get things done properly.
Hello stokemonkey!
No, I have not tried the neutrino rom. My main goal is to take my working phone and copy the firmware to my other phone which is the same model. I attempted to flash a rom and then it didnt work out so well (phone still lights up, drivers are not compatible).
I all else fails I can attempt the neurtino rom (as long as you dont have to install from sd card zip file because I cannot!)
the neutrino is an Atrix 4G rom only, so you cant use it and it also needs to be installed via internal so its a no go either way. isnt your phone the china "htc" model? i dont have much user time on an htc so im not too sure what you can do?
again id try to find a barebones that you can flash the way you did with the rom that gave you errors. ill try to do some searching too and see what i can find. let me know if you get anything workin! and if there is someone else out there that can enlighten the both of us help would be appreciated!
and isnt yours like an evo 4g? maybe one of those roms will work?
Thanks for your response and suggestions. I will try to dish up a small tutorial with how far I can get in the backup/flashing process. I can check for an evo 4g rom and see what the specs are. The current rom I used i believe works, but doesnt have the video driver so the screen has no image. I believe each partition of ram has a set size so you can only flash a rom for the mt6573 chipset which will fit in the available space for each partition and also happens to contain the video, audio, bluetooth, etc drivers.
I have used SP Flash Tool and was able to backup all of the partitions of my working phone but the SP Flash Tool gives all sorts of errors when I try to load the files and flash them to my non-working phone.
The funny thing is that I downloaded files for a different phones rom and was able to flash those to the non-working phone, as mentioned in my previous post, which allows the phone to power on, but the phone doesnt work besides lighting up.
I know it is possible to make a backup of my good phone and flash that rom onto my non-working phone, I just dont know what I am doing wrong.
So far, this is what I have done . . .
1. Installed SDK tools for android
2. Obtained my scatter txt file by using command prompt
3. Used MTKRomStudio to open that file which tells me the addresses of all the partitions and their file sizes
4. Used SP Flash Tool V.2.11.29.00 to "readback" (backup) each individual rom file (preloader, uboot, bootimg, android, dsp, etc)
5. Confirmed the file sizes of each of the above files to what MTKRomStudio said the file size should be
6. Attempted to load these files into SP Flash Tool and get errors such as "partition too large, failed to load", or "partitions overlap".
7. I was able to open some of the partitions such as android, and usrdata but when attempting to flash I receive errors such as "dram error".
8. I was able to download an entire backup of all "readback" files for a different model phone, and each one of those files loaded fine and downloaded to my non-working phone.
9. Just to mention, my non-working phone was completely dead (no power up, no lights) before I flashed the random phone rom I found online, and now at least it powers up (lights up).
Anyone have any information? I have created a small visual representation of what I have been looking at and messing around with. Let me know!

9. Just to mention, my non-working phone was completely dead (no power up, no lights) before I flashed the random phone rom I found online, and now at least it powers up (lights up).

I have a MT6575 phone and I have exactly your nr. 7 issue (BROM ERROR:S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL(5054)). Were you able to get this working somehow? I am confident that the selected partitions are for this phone as I read them out myself. But flashing back won't work. Does anyone have any leads?

If you have the correct files use the newest version:

It is easy to mess things up if you try random files.
MTK 6577 and SP Flash Tool
I too am also having problems with the flash tool. I am trying to help a friend bring his chinese note 2 clone back to life. He somehow got CWM onto the phone and the custom recovery seems to be functioning properly, but I cant find any sort of ROM file to flash in recovery.
Now I am going back and trying to restore the phone to factory using the flash tool. Installed the VCOM drivers, then went to load the scatter file we obtained from the factory (Bro Tech) it says the scatter file is incorrect format?
My question is: are there any roms we could try to flash on this phone from CWM or do we have to use the Flash Tool? I'm hoping since CWM seems to be working that I can simply flash an acceptable rom with that instead of trying to find a scatter file.
Maybe someone can suggest some ROMs to try flashing with CWM. The phone is: Goophone N2 7100 I believe. Thanks for reading, I really want to help him resurrect this interesting piece of copyright infringement (the phone looks amazingly like a Note 2 till you get close to it)

hi, i've made a mistake.
I've installed an odex version from a modified recovery(with dalvick cache). Can anyone help me?
Hi there,
I bought Lenovo S890, which is trully a nice phone. Only bad thing about it was, that it had a lot of chinese apps, which I uninstalled. Unfortunately I uninstalled system app contacts, which turned out to be a mistake. After painfully long time, when I didn't manage to install the app back on the phone, I bricked it. So after that I tried to install new ROM, which i could then root and restore the phone to better shape...
As it turned out, this was painfull as well After several fails I managed to install original ROM via Flash tools, which is chinese only. Then I tried to install Team win recovery project, which would allow me to access recovery mode and install one of several ROW ROM I found on needrom.com/phone-roms/lenovo/s890/
I was following this tutorial step by step: forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Phones/S890-rooting-tutorial/td-p/1109573 (also availaible on video: youtube.com/watch?v=W_Gs0bpUMmY) but it had no effect, the Flash tools ended with an error:
Brom error: S_FT_NEED_DOWNLOAD_ALL_FAIL (4050)
Need download all images!
So I was stuck again. I installed back the original chinese ROM and try to root the phone for several days, without any success. I tried
Root with Restore by Bin4ry v30
ICS Root Unlocker 1.0
SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse
and although these software said that rooting was succesfull, it really wasn't.
In the end, i manage to install updated original ROM and now i have access to recovery mod, but it is in chinese and I don't understand the language - if someone do, could you have a look at sugarsync.com/pf/D6990784_658_292574314 and tell me what to click in order to install new ROM from SD card? When I try to install different recovery mod, the phone won't boot at all.
-----------------
Can someone help me solve my problem? It looks like all I need to do is either 1) root the original ROM, because then I can use superuser app and install ROW ROM or 2) install different recovery mode (like TWRP), where I can install different ROMs from SD card...
Also, if anyone has the same phone and has it rooted, the best possible solution for me (and maybe other lost souls) would be, if you do a backup of your rooted phone (via MtkDroidTools or similar) and publish it online, so I could use it in Flash tools and transfer it on my phone. That would be fantastic.
If someone has any idea on what should i do, please share it with me. Any idea is welcome. Thanks ahead

I think I didn't use Download, but Firmware->Upgrade instead. Also, if you are trying to install TWRP, I managed to do so by flashing all parts from original ROM and selected only recovery from Team win.

hi
Greetings fellow XDA Users,
Let me get right to the point. A week ago my Cubot One arrived which I ordered from dealxtreme. Eveything was fine and I was very happy with the phone.
But 3 days ago I tried to change the resolution of the screen with an app from the Play Store and of course I did not backup my rom a really stupid thing to do on my part.
Now my Cubot One is soft bricked I think as it only boots to the android logo and that's it. I can still access the recovery menu but unfortunately I only have the stock recovery.
I have tried like literaly everything to unbrick my phone but nothing has worked so far. I tried to use the Cubot One T card upgrade and install it from an SD card but it fails with an MBR related error I think. I have tried to flash an older ROM I think V0.3 throught SP Flash Tools. I tried to only flash the CWM recovery through SP Flash tools again but that didn't work either. I tried to install custom roms through the ADB sideload ability of the stock recovery but nothing seems to work.
Is there any way I can repair my phone? Is it possible for someone that has recently baught a Cubot One running the V0.7 rom to do a backup and send it to me and instruct me how to install it? I would really appreciate any help.
I just want you to know that I am opening this thread as a last resort I have tried everything I have even tried the MTK Tools software but It doesn't recognize my phone possibly because It doesn't boot or I have lost the root and usb debugging previleges.
Can someone please give me a backup of the V0.7 ROM? I think that that is my last chance to save the phone.
Thanks in Advance.

I really don't want to spam but I really need some help the phone is brand new I can't just leave it like this. Thanks!
No help at all? Nice community... I am just supposed to throw the phone away.
Did you tried this rom?
Hello, i found this firmware in needrom page.
Check it!

I suspect i have foolishly tried to root my Alcatel A2 xl, as I''ve never done it before and it looks unconventional, and it's now stuck in boot loop. I can hold volume up and power and get to select boot mode, but recovery freezes the screen and selecting normal triggers the boot loop. Fastboot works still.
It was all working fine, I'd set up adb and a couple drivers, then followed some guide here to install Clockwork Recovery by flashing it via adb. I did that, and can't do anything sense - i read somewhere else i should have wiped data first, could this have been it?
Any help on how to recover enormously appreciated. At this point i've tried the official Alcatel tool to reset a stock rom and it can't detect the phone correctly, and that's it. I dont want to go trying to flash another recovery or custom ROM on yet as im uncertain what went wrong.
Also just want to say thanks in advance, and thanks for the whole site, it's the only reliable looking place i could find for android advice , i mean im sure you know that.
Try this

Hi there,
I am not sure if this will work or not as ALCATEL is famous for making cheap smartphones however the number of ROMS out there are slim, I was wondering do you have the stock rom with you and are you able to connect your phone to your computer and can ADB detect it.
If your still able to boot into recovery you can uninstall root by wiping its memory completely.
And if your phone is able to get recognised by ADB I suggest you to reinstall the whole ROM
I have found a website which might help you to get the ROM
https://www.needrom.com/category/alcatel/
Hey thanks thanks. I can't boot into recovery frustratingly, but it can be recognised by adb.
I dont have a stock rom though so thanks for website - can you point me to the right ROM? There doesn't seem to be anything specific to the A2 XL model, but it has a MT8321 processor so does that mean any ROM for that would work? NEEDROM /tablet_captiva_pad_10_3g_plus_mt8321/
or the A2 XL also seems to have exactly the same processor as the Pixi 4, and both come with the 8050D tag-on which i have no idea what means. So would that be a better shout? NEEDROM /rom-stock-pixi-4-7-alcatel-9003a-telcel/

Okay right i read all abot the SP FLASH TOOL but was unable to generate a scatter so 'd tried other options. There's a dl for a scatter for the Pixi 8050D which has the same MTK8321 processor so im going to try the tool with that and hope. Thanks for advice man
