Hi everyone,
i have an xperia p with stock JB on it, i never used a password for the screen lock but half an hour ago i decided to protect it with a password, so i entered it twice to set it up, after that i tried to unlock the phone and it unlocked ... After that whenever i try to unlock it and enter the password it just says sorry try again, like when you type it wrong :S
I donßt know if it is possible that i set it up wrong 2 times and the third time when it unlocked or if it is another problem :/
There is no option "Forgot password" or something to reset it, and whenever i attemt to unlock it after 5,10,15 times i just need to wait :/
I tried turning of the phone, tried also to hold volume up + unlock button till it vibrates 3 times but still the same :/
I need help here please as fast as possible, the phone is like i said on stock .400 JB with the sliding xp kernel 8.1.1, it is ROOTED and the bootloader is unlocked, thanks everyone in advance
P.S. i know i can factory reset it in CWM but that is not an option for me :/

I suppose you are rooted! You could use adb and delete the lockscreen and see if it works as a temporary solution just to enter in the phone. Tell me if it worked

You need android sdk! Why mount usb? Just transfer it in sd card. That should work!

ok i can install android sdk but i need the exact steps to perform what you have told me, please
Hmm! Strange! Firstly try restarting! Get battery out for 15 minutes then back in and open your phone try again to unlock! It should also fix the not showing up in explorer! If it doesn't then I will help you with adb

After i instal the android sdk what else do i need to install? I forgot it because it is a long time since i installed it on my home PC and now that i am not home i need to install everything here on this pc...
hey everyone,
i have managed to unlock my phone
For thoose who have this problem here is what i did :
Because i couldnt transfer any files by any way on my phone (i think it is because it was locked), i went first to cwm, made a nandroid backup, then i did factory reset7wipe data and after that i could open all files and folders in windows
Then i transfered the nandroid backup to my pc, opened the file "data.ext4.tar.a" in 7zip (winrar wont work because you cant delete the files direclty), i went to the subfolder "system" deleted 2 files, i dont know now the exact names but one is something gesture.key and the other is password/something, then you need to open the MD5 file in notepad and delete all the text and save the file, after that i copied the modified backup to my phone, went into cwm did a restore and the phone works without the password lock
Nice! Glad it was fixed

Tried go to recovery with home+ volume down+ power. And only get android picture and then reboot, no recovery as I understand
How do I wipe it or just unlock it?

Only a full reset will work.
Guess it was home + vol. up + power.
You could try emergency also, and then flash via LGMDP or KDZ.
If you can reach the android logo for a long time, you could try to backup apps, data, or all via ADB (PC).
Greets!
Same will also work when at lockscreen.
Guess the lock can be disabled when phone is rooted, but don't know how one should do it
Edit:
Found this.
You can give it a try

Maybe I'm missing something, but can't you use your gmail username & password if you lock out the lock screen? Or was this locked at a lower level?
Hi guys,

you'd probably need to install adb on PC (general guides here or here or in lots of places), but this will work only if the "USB Debugging" is turned on in Setting>Applications>Development
- or -
check this: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/manage-your-files-from-recovery-with-aroma-file-manager/
i cant get the thing to factory reset, ive tried pressing the volume keys and then the power button but it just reboots and sticks on the username and pass any ideas? ive tried to ABD

Maybe try with the Aroma from my previous post - remove SD card from Note, and copy zip file to it using PC, then put it back, and try to restart in recovery mode, then follow installation instructions

Hi there
My son has forgotten his screen password on his Samsung Galaxy.
I've tried to create a signed update.zip to root the device while on recovery mode, but I received an error stating that there is a problem with the signature.
I've tried various certs without success.
Any idee?
May be there is a better solution than the update.zip method to unlock the screen password?
thxs a lot

Doesn't it after 5 tries give you a prompt saying fogoten password. If not then as the phone boots maybe plug it into a computer and take all your stuff of it the do a factory reset. Or if you install Clock Work Mod then I'm sure there's a flashable zip that'll remove your password. But mine comes up win a forgotten password option when I get it wrong 5 times mind you I have 5.0 not a 4.0 but it should be the same.

The 4.0 gives a forgotten password option as well.
EDIT: What the heck? I haven't recently used a password or pin since I always use a pattern, but I just tried one, and it just lets me unlock it without entering a password (it doesn't even show somewhere to enter a password). Weird.

He means flash a custom kernel with clockworkmod. But, if you don't want to flash a custom kernel or ROM, then I think the only way to fix it is boot into recovery and wipe data. I think it will ask for a password, but if you just keep entering wrong ones it will wipe data, but also internal memory and sd card, so be sure to remove sd card.

Yes, my initial attempt was to root and keep the same ROM. That's why I start creating a update.zip to use it using the corresponding menu in the recovery mode. But I received the signature error message. So I'm still investigating a little, then I will try to flash a custom kernel or wipe the device...
thanks a lot, if you have any thoughts about signature :good:
I recently bought sony xperia u. It turned out that it has multiple problems. The phone is locked to Orange but i have the unlock code. However everytime i turn off the phone, i have to enter the code again. It happens with all other settings, they are not saved after restart. There is more to it, wi-fi can't turn on. When i try to clear the internal memory, nothing happens. Even more, there are pictures and call logs, when deleted, they come back after restart. While working errors about stopped processes appear all the time, and some apps can not be opened for the same reason - errors as "stopped working".. I hope you have some suggestions for repairing my phone :crying:

Try repairing your phone via Sony Pc Companion. Or reset your phone. and if that doesnt work. Bring your phone to the store where you buy it.

I did updated my phone to ICS the day i bought it.
I used the bluetooth numerous number of times, but never had any problem,
but day b4 yesterday i used the sony factory widget to turn on bluetooth, i dont remember if i did used it before to turn bluetooth on or not.
The phone stopped responding for 2 sec, i thought its normal for android, and then it restarted.Until that point it was normal..
But then its stuck in bootloop.....
i saw various posts and have seen people have got to boot into system once in a while....
but bad for my luck i am trying from 24hrs... but no luck...
out of 10 boots or when battery is removed from phone from long time, phone shows lock screen for a milisecond and goes back to XPERIA logo and same story continues...
FYI: i had previous soft brick when used OTA update but got rid of it using "UnbrickingXperia2011.zip",
Please help me,,, i cant imagine a day without my best phone...

Go to CMW and then wipe catch and dalvik!!...it will boot into device but once you turn on bluetooth again then the whole thing starts up again!...
kernel?and rom?
Go back to GB if this is your everyday phone then i suggest a stable and reliable OS(I've had some bad experiences with ICS and JB but then again those are mine and my own views. Footnote:This was not to down play any devs  )
I have same problem, just wipe dalvik cache and then after reboot install this "bluetooth fix repair" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phk.bluetoothfixrepair
just click everytime before turn on your bluetooth.
