Hello. I have an Samsung Galaxy S2 , that i had buyed with the 2.3.5 android version.
I havend used with this version maybe only one day , after that i had updated with Odin on JB version.
With the JB version , the battery die's in about 5 - 6 hours with normal using of the phone but with wifi and data enabled. I need the interenet
I have rooted the phone , and installed different roms. Now i have CM10 and the problem is same
With JB if i activate the Powersaving Mode and disble the wifi / data and the brightness on auto , the battery maximum takes 24H
With CM10 with the wifi activated the battery is empty in 3 - 4 hours.
It can me a battery problem , or a hardware problem ?
change kernel mate wifi is kernel related try dorimanx 8.16 stock/cm10 jb or if u ar on cm10.1 try 9.16 with kernel install stweak apk from market and there u find battery setings

But can you tell me exactly what i have to set on the stweeak program please ? I really don't know what do to there !
when u open stweak got to profile tab and chose what u want battery/default/performance after 30 sec apk restart and setings be applied , nex u can change volume of phone in sound tab and few other things.if u not sure dnt touch nothing else then that wot i said. wifi is kernel related with this kernel work very well and dnt eat to much batt, mobile internet is modem related u have to find right for u

Now i have changed the ROM with Sentinel ROM 4.2.2 version of Android
I have this kernel

When i had finished to install the rom and other stuff my battery was at 45%. With WIFI opened , and only with phone locked siting on the desk after 45min , the battery was at 32%.
I am really dissapointed about S2. Or it's a battery problem ? Hardware problem ?
This thing is getting me crazy

Its alway like that after flash battery drop down . did u flashed dorimanx kernel with this rom ? Rom+kernel need 2-3 charges to Seattle down after that battery should get better

Hi guys...yesterday only I got SGS2 and its awesome. I wanna update my ph to cm7. Downloaded the official cm7 from official web site but don't know how to use install it. Could anybody tell me abt this. And also tell me which is the best ROM for our s2. I'm waiting for ur ans giys. Thank you

don't use custom rom now!! use stock rom for sometime!!
root your phone 1st do some basic mods then go for custom rom when u are bored with with stock!!

Don't listen to that guy, try everything and pick what's best for you.
On the other hand, you have all the instructions in the CM7 thread. Don't be a f**** and read the install guide from there.

am saying him to try everything but not now!! cz most users f*** up their phones by trying stuffs when they are newbie so am telling him to try those stuffs after learning more abt Android & flashing
Edit: IMO i recommend u to use SPEEDMOD kernel or SIYAH kernel over stock cz speedmod is good in terms of speed & battery compared to stock & siyah is best in battery backup flashing kernel won't change UI & some kernel like speedmod won't support custom ROM's dunno abt siyah i think it supports custom too

Thanku Rajaspidey,actually I used galaxy pop before this,I installed cm7 on it...but I don't wanna ruin this stock ROM. But I need more battery backup. U said about speedmod n other one,wheare can I get those n how can I update plz give me the links n also tell me if I don't like them can I revert back to thia original custom ROM....?? Plz rly,tanq

here's the link for speed mod use the stable kernel 16 am on v17 test-1 & that is perfectly fine
dunno abt siyah, i hink it has custom clock!!
i recommend u to use SPEEDMOD!!
u can make even stock kernel like custom upto certain limit if u are on XWKF3 temme i hv an mod for battery, auto color change to green in notif when connected to gtalk & CRT screen off!!
& i hv musicplayer.apk customised by me to look like itunes cz Samsung default album art looks cheap!!
i also have mod to use volume keys for camera
volume keys can & musicplayer.apk works on any firmware
u can freeze apps u don like with titanium backup i freezes game hub & readers
don't forget to take cam bakup
before flashing & this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!
& take an cwm as soon as u root & copy it to pc !!

SpeedMOD can be used for any version cz its just a kernel !!
u can have different kernel, Modem & ROM in a phone (Mostly but i can be wrong read every line of mother post in a thread before flashing & read some user feedbacks too)
If I don't like speedmod ,can I revert back to my old look...?

Kernel wont change look of ur phone its just an intermediator between OS & hardware which decides speed & other hrdware properties !!
& about ur concern yes u can but u don need to go back to stock
BTW i flashed CheckROM & Siyah Kernel yesterday ll let u knw soon & if u wanna change ROM u can ask here !!

I had follewed this only and never faced any proble... though i am now on aokp build.
Start scrolling... if u r on gingerbread. Superrom is the best for u

I m a noobie n has just rooted my phone.
The first ROM i flashed was omega black blue v15 - XWLPG.
I m not sure it the ROM is already stable but everything i unlock my phone, sometimes it will on my Flash Light itself.
Is it because of bug?
Also, can i know what is the best kernel for this ROM?
I cant post in Omega forum because i m extremely new (have not reach my 10 post quota yet ).
Anyone mind to help?

u can change the kernel to say like, Siyah v4.1.1 or Dream Kernel and see

Having problem with the rom... Gonna change it now... Batt status suppose to be 50% suddenly became 15%... Flash light on automatically when i unlocked my screen... Anyways thks for ur help...

dont worry ma8, custom Krenel's like Siyah, dream,dorimanx,cm9,cm10 are all Brick bug free kernel's, so flashing them will not do any harm to ur phone in the first place.
only the stock 4.0.4 firmware kernel's are the culprits.
any ways if ur that reluctant then u can always change ur rom for sure

hu guys,i am havinh an issue with my s2 from few day.i am with thunderbolt JB rom.what i am facing is signals get drop and i ha e to restart the phone for it.i downloaded app and check my baseband and radio via GetRil app.it says my radio and baseband doesn't match as you can see in the snap.can anyone guide me.thanks.

Ok to be clear for u there r two things RIL and Modem. RIL changes in every ROM depends on ROM creator. But Modem remains same unless u flash any other modem.. Think u had a stock ROM with LPX modem it ll have LPX RIL.. U flashed CM10 it might have LQ6 RIL.. So ur RIL and modem gets different which causes RILJ wakelocks especially in JB ROMS u lose network!! So now to ur ScreenShot- U hav LPX modem and RIL is LQ6.. So u hav to change ur modem to either LQ6 or change ur RIL to LPX so that each other match... Got the point?

i have thunderbolt JB rom.so now i have to change modem to LQ6.which is recommended.i guess lq6 is in the start in aroma installer.theme?which theme bro?u mean by signal theme?

i guess you should go for s III better than these both but if u still want one of these.if u wanna play with rom kinda stuff buy s II but if u wanna have a good lukin phn.bttr battry n beautiful screen then buy nexus.n also nexus has official 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 update.but remember nexus doesnt have sd card in it.

Guys need ur help I have flashed official JB stock Rom 4days ago 1st 2days its Working perfect now my prblm is its lags wen ever I scroll to contacts r swipe the home screen, dialer is als taking time to open its bit slow:banghead:
Can u sugest me a gud kernal which can make my s2 smooth an faster one more thing the kernal shud support jelly bean

I haven't tried it and you can find the tread in original android development.

Philz is the only one compatible with xxlsj right now. You can try custom ROMs like neatRom v4.0 that is still based on xxlsj but more stable and smoother and faster.

I would say try some roms like zero bug rom or neat rom they are one of the simplest and best roms around (with philz kernel)
