I don't think you can since they don't have any 4g roaming contracts with other carriers and since other carriers use different bands of lte

Yup. Welcome to Canada, where 4G is actually the same technology you've been using for the past two years.

What do you mean "doesn't work"? You get error 1012? If so, try over Wi-Fi.
From my Evo LTE, yup.
Now that you mention it, I went from 16010 to 16012 in NW Ohio.... Yay! eHRPD speeds around peak times seem much better. (If you live in this area you know that an eHRPD connection is about ten times slower than EVDO Rev-A.)
Well done Sprint!
I'm having an issue connecting to LTe over 3g....

That's because LTE is 4G.
I am planning on getting GoSmart Mobile but I want to know if I can manually provision my phone to access they're internet. I am currently using MetroPCS for example, but you can provison the phone to take advantage of Picture Mail and 3G which runs off of CDMA so can you do the same type of thing with GSM with companies like T-Mobile or GoSmart?
Lol no.

no need to be a jerk about it, but thanks anyway!
My bad dude. Didn't mean to come off that way. Gsm is totally different band and so no. Att tmobile etc gsm and Verizon sprint etc use cdma.

2 questions...
1st, I live in a non 4G area. Is it possible to get on a different carrier's 4G? Or just switch to 3g when roaming?
2nd, a friend has a straight talk phone. Is that possible to switch to my sprint plan? I have a phone on standby and I'm trying to use it up.
Thanks XDA

I don't think you can roam on another carrier's network since they use different LTE spectrum bands like 800,1900,700 etc. Sprint uses 1900 MHz LTE

To answer the second question, no, Sprint will only activate phones in their database which are Sprint branded phones.

So I just for fun turned on my roam only with omj on my stock 3.17 and low and behold I'm LTE roaming. Any ideas how when LTE roaming I was told is impossible

I'm pretty sure it isn't impossible, because when I roam i always get LTE. It's pretty cool. Usually faster than the regular LTE.
It is normal to be able to roam and connect to Sprint's LTE. The EVO only has the 1900 LTE band for Sprint. It's impossible for it to roam on another network's LTE bands...

It's impossible to roam on lte. Your voice connection might be roaming on Verizon or whatnot but your data connection is still relying on sprint.

^^^^^What he said.^^^^^
While the you might have terrible service on LTE when you have low signal bars, this is not always the case. In truth, the signal bars have practially nothing to do with the LTE signal, unlike the relation between the signal bars and 3g.
