Super user keeps granting set CPU permissions every Damn minute with the notification that pops up at the bottom of our screen, how the hell do I stop that?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
I think that is because you have the notification checked. The one that displays your max and min frequencies on the notification bar.
Appreciate my help? Thank me
No, I figured it out, had to go into superuser and disable toast notifications

I too am having this problem... Rather than disable notifications I would like to get to the bottom of why this is happening. Is there anyone who knows what's up?

It is part of the SuperUser application, go into it, disable notifications. Golden.

Tee Jay
It only does it if you have profiles set up. I think it's every time it checks through that service.

Yea, it's part of the SuperUser app, but it's not supposed to be granting permissions every minute. There is an issue with SetCPU, IMO. SuperUser keeps granting it permissions, because setcpu keeps ASKING it for permissions. It's not supposed to happen like that. It should ask for permissions when you start the app, and that's it. I've used setcpu for quite a while now, and have never had it act like that. There is something up with it.

Very well said! Yes I have used it for over a year and never experienced this on any other phone/rom. But if it's not a wide problem maybe a fresh install will help. I also do not want to disable notifications because I want to know when apps are requesting SuperUser access... With that said as soon as my phone has a little more charge I will be reflashing from scratch

I have also noticed this as well and my solution was to disable superuse notifications. I am also using profiles in setcpu, setcpu never did this on my OG Evo.

That didnt resolve anything for me. my notifications was unticked in the first place. probably just wait for an update to fix hopefully!
I agree with FatChevy. Once a update comes out, there probably won't be a problem with it anymore. Did you try emailing the developer?
Still the same thing and this did not happen in the old version of SetCPU.
I got a dialog that popped up that I've never seen once i installed the market that asked me about all the permissions well i turned most of them off and now i cant figure out where to turn them back on again because it is blocking the market..
maybe try uninstalling the marektplace and reinstalling. Should prompt for settings on a fresh install. Probably the quickest way i can think of.
You cant uninstall the market lol. Maybe reinstalling the rom but i want to know what the app is and where i can locate it for future use

Okay, glad you got it figured out. I had already answered you in the other thread before I saw this.

Soooo I started using WidgetLocker again yesterday along with ADW EX for an ICS-ish theme. Well today I started having some issues with WidgetLocker not allowing me to answer or even see a phone call when my phone was locked. Well to take things further; just an hour ago, when I woke up, when I unlocked my phone my screen was blank and unresponsive. All I had was the notification bar at the top, but it is unusable, and my wallpaper showing. So I rebooted my phone and then disabled WidgetLocker. Well now I'm stuck with just the wallpaper and notification bar on the screen. Nothing works accept the power button and I can't reboot or anything without pulling the battery. I never froze the Sense Launcher or HTC Lockscreen. So... WTF do I do other than wipe my phone and re-install everything??? :'(
I think you have some other problem and it is not widget locker.

eh? had to edit my post. my screen isn't actually blank, or off, there just isn't a home screen or lock screen, and none of the buttons work accept the power one.
Are you rooted and unlocked? If so make a nand backup and try wiping. This will allow you to troubleshoot. Report back and we can go from there
I'm rooted on inef 1.4 , I did that and it didn't work. WidgetLocker kinda pisses me off that it can mess stuff up that badly now. Do any rezound users have problems with it? I went though the settings trying to find the culprit but couldn't. Then once I disabled the app everything just broke.
I ended up wiping and staring from scratch. Not using that app again.
I wanted aosp ICS looking stuff but I'm too lazy to desense and theme apps now. I miss MIUI lol. soo easy to change everything from system apks to icons. Makes want to buy a nexus and put up with all the missed opportunities on the phone just to have aosp lol.

I use widget locker on every phone and Android tablet, including my Rezound... Never seen that type of problem before.

If you do go back to using it again, set up HomeHelper if you haven't done so. Also, unsure of the package names, but you can uninstall using ADB. Having this happen once before, I had to ADB shell into the phone and remove ADW. It's a rare occurrence but does happen.

It won't help you any, but I stopped using Widget Locker because it did the exact same thing to me. I did a wipe & reinstall from scratch just to get totally 100% rid of the POS.

LOL, I don't think so.
I used it forever in my DroidX & it worked fine. All I did was install it in my Rezound & I immediately lost the ability to answer the phone, how is that "user error" ??
boot your phone up without the sim, it should take you to the home screen. Dial *#*#4636#*#* and make sure cdma+lte auto is selected. Power down and re insert sim, and boot back up.

completely remove widgetlocker and see if it still happens.
I did completely remove it. That's when my phone was totally unusable. Before I did that I could reboot to get it to unlock at least. Idk what the app did or altered to mess up that bad. I'm glad I was rooted and could fix it.
My fix I mean wipe and reflash the rom
I had nothing but problems with it on my thunderbolt. Great idea, poor implementation.

True. What's bad is that there is actually a market for a really good one. Money to be had there...
I have had troubles with this app as well. actually it worked kind of alright when it was installed (but it glitched/didnt work occasionally so i got rid of it) but when i uninstalled it somehow the widgetlocker lockscreen still comes up before my current lockscreen (GOlocker). i dont see how this is possible, any ideas? also it usually does this after booting the phone, after its on it pretty much never shows up. maybe reinstall it and wipe the app data with Ti backup, then uninstall?? not sure what to do here
I see a lot of people saying you need to reset google wallet before flashing a new rom, but google wallet has never been able to be opened on my phone because it says device unsupported, so what does it mean by reset google wallet that I'm seeing people say in all of these threads? How do I reset it exactly if I can't open it?
I have not rooted or really tampered with the phone yet so I'm not sure if this is something that is effecting all EVO owners or what.. I just don't want to lose the functionality when it does become available

Personally, if I were you. I'd open the app up anyways, and reset it it from within its settings regardless of if you are actively using it. It won't hurt, its just an extra step that takes a minute.
You are taking a risk of destroying the secure NFC element - even though you don't use it now, you may want to later - or the person who ultimatly ends up with this phone when you are done with it may want to use it.

If you were never able to open the application, there is nothing to clear because nothing ever got modified. Clearing the settings resets it back to stock, and since yours is already in that state the point is moot.

What if I set it up when I first got the phone (just for the free $10) and have never used it and now I want to root to gain wifi tether ect.. Isrooting going to break my NFC?

I cannot reset it because I get the Error about no supported country. Can I temp root to change the prop file so I can reset Google wallet? then root?
Just Rooting does not erase anything. You just don't want to do anything that requires wiping the phone, whether that be through recovery, settings menu, or htcdev unlock.
The factory reset of the entire phone is what causes the problems.

If you only go for root access it does not wipe your phone or change anything other than gaining root access. If you do the S-Off method you have more of a chance to mess something up but it still doesn't wipe your phone. Only the htc-dev unlock wipes the phone. You will need root to do the s-unlock tool anyways.
I keep getting a notification that tells me about unauthorized access to part of my phone and I need to update to the latest security. I try to update and it tells me I don't need to update because I have already installed the latest security. I keep getting the notification over and over... anyone else having this issue?
Yep, been getting it all day. Seems to be coming from KNOX app that cannot be uninstalled. I have notifications turned off, too. Doesn't matter that I did the "update" or hit cancel. Google+ posters are saying its' a known bug.

Yeah i got rid of it with wanam xposed. You need to have preserved root and install xposed framework, which works perfectly so far by the way.
Edit: in security hacks section, disable know notifications.

This. I lost my root a couple updates ago and I'm still getting the security notification all the time. It's annoying and I don't want to install whatever software it's pushing on me because I don't know what it is and don't think I need it.
From what I have been reading, if you try to install what it's pushing, it will tell you that it's already up to date. If posts I have seen can be believed, Samsung knows there is a problem and is supposedly working on a fix. Seems to be tied to connecting to different WiFi networks. I don't have the problem, but my wife does, strangely enough.

Fixes and Question
I second the Wanam disable notifications method. However, I am a bit concerned that KNOX is actually preventing some system actions. For instance, Greenify was not able to hibernate a couple of apps on boot. Aside from the Wanam method there are several other options:
Play Store Option: Here
Terminal Emulator Option: Here
Titanium Back-up Option: From Driod Views
Open TB when it is installed and freeze the following apps:
com.sec.enterprise.knox.attestation
com.sec.knox.eventsmanager
KLMS Agent
KNOX
Knox Notification Manager
KNOX Store
My question is, what are the disadvantages to the methods that actually disable KNOX and not just notifications? Am I putting data at risk, and will I lose any other functionality?
Cheers!

As far as I know, this only happens if you still have partial root files or root-using apps or their data left on your phone after flashing a data-preserving wipe file with Odin.
To clarify, if you had ME7, for example, and had root, BusyBox/Terminal Emulator, and the like, and used a Odin image modded to not wipe data, then youd be left without root, but with apps still trying to get root. SuperSU would still have these apps in its list, and theyd query it for root access, and could not get it. The notification says its trying to access system, because the root file would be in system.
Also, if you had Triangle Away and had it set to periodically try and reset the flash counter to say Official, it would keep trying to access system, but SELinux wouldnt let it.
The only fix Ive found is to do a factory reset.

Well, if you dont mind doing another wipe, try the emergency recovery ODIN file, found here
If you never had root before on that device, maybe you had some app that can utilize root, or maybe you have an app using device admin rights? Lookout Antivirus requires admin or root access for some features, do you have any apps like that?

I'm not going to wipe it again. Samsung said this is a known bug and they are pushing through a fix, so I'll try to be patient. The only app I have is Avast Antivirus. This seems to be related to Knox that Samsung included in the update. So that is on here too and cannot be disabled.

Avast is not related to Knox at all. No apps are related to Knox unless they have the small yellow lock icon on the bottom right corner. However, if Avast has that lock icon, it will only work in Knox mode, and will only scan files created while in Knox mode.
I cant make you do anything, but I strongly recommend that you wipe the phone again, especially since the only app you have is Avast so far. I only factory resetted, and while that did stop the notifications for me, it didnt fix the bug itself. Now my phone shows a counter of 2 in the bootloader, even though I never flashed any unofficial ROMs.
Just because Samsung says its a bug and will send out a fix doesnt mean you can rest easy. Thats like having a gas leak, and the company tells you dont worry, we will send you a patch to plug the hole. Yeah, youll have it plugged eventually, but for now your house is gonna fill with gas, and then its gonna explode. Im just looking out for you in the future. I doubt you would want to lose your warranty so soon.

I appreciate your concern. For some reason, I stopped getting the notifications, for now. I've done some further research. Avast has no lock icon. I went into download mode and determined that I have not lost my warranty. I don't want to factory reset because I don't believe it will resolve the issue as it is a bug within Knox, and because it takes me way too much time to customize my phone. I have approximately 100 apps, Avast just happens to be the only one under administrator. When I factory reset it after the ota, I did it multiple times anyway. From what I've been reading, this is happening on both rooted and stock devices.
