Already reserve one for tomorrow. What a kickass price. If this is released at $299, HTC Flyer may cause a firestorm.
This is the price it should have been when released.
I snagged one today and sold my ****ty viewsonic g. I am going to go to best buy tomorrow and get my $200 back with price match.
I am putting honeycomb on it right now. Kinda tricky but you basically have to flash all the stock honeycomb and then you can put that cool custom honeycomb rom on the dev forum.
Does this come with the stylus? I know in July best buy startedd including it, but I'm not sure if that was just for a limited time.

*If you are returning a mobile phone or device with a plan, Best Buy is not responsible for carrier charges incurred after the carrier's cancellation period. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your plan to verify the carrier conditions
Same here, snagged one tonight @ 499 because I don't wanna deal with the hassle of hunting one down all weekend. BB Playbook was sold out everywhere in my area after just 1 day @ 299, I'm assuming Flyer will be the same. I tried to get Best Buy to give me the sale price, but they're making me come back on Saturday to do the adjustment. Total bargain at 299!
Just put in my order for 1 @299. Picking up in store tomorrow. So excited to play around with this for the 2 weeks before I give it away for my fathers birthday present lol. At this price it just cant be beat, although my mom is going to be jealous when my dad gets this and she just has a CM7 nook lol. Anyways looking forward to "my" new flyer and the awesome devs here
The website still shows 499 for me.

No, BB is not including the Pen. (not yesterday anyway)
Yes, BB Price match policy includes BB & BB.com prices. (it should not be a hassle becaue they are matching their own price, it may need a mgr approval but for $200 it's worth it)
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-To...ee/pcmcat204400050011.c?id=pcmcat204400050011
(post edit, only specific items are good for 60 days on the price match, normal return times apply here afaik)
I picked up a flyer yesterday before reading this post, I will be re-visiting my local BB today to recover some $$
Cheers

(on a side note I also go the rocketfish hardshell case and like it because it adds very little bulk) now if they would only let me wear cargo pants at work...

I can't find the info to back it up, but I had the price on a laptop drop 3 weeks after I purchased it. I was beyond the 14-day return period so they wouldn't refund the difference. If I find the page I'll post it.
Wait, here it is from the link you posted:
"Simply let us know when you are making your purchase or during the return and exchange period..."
Bottom line, don't wait.
Is it the wifi only version or 3G?

Going to get mine today. I got the pen, Rocketfish hard case, screen protector, SD for under $450. I'm glad I waited for the price drop. It's what it should've been priced in the first place.

In BestBuy right now getting the difference from the Flyer I bought for my wife a month ago and I'm not the only one here getting their money back. 10 or so other people here in line, LOL!
Edit.: cha-ching!! No problems, no questions
easy
Went in told the CS person that the price dropped $200 and less than 5 minutes later got my $$ plus sales tax "would you like that in cash or gift card?, um cash will be fine thanks"
Cheers

Good price point, but this is what HTC/Best Buy should have marked the Flyer at since day one. Considering we're still waiting on Honeycomb over four months after launch....
I'm wondering how people in the US are buying their HTC Flyer. I thought Bestbuy sold them but I went to 4 best buy on yesterday and none of them had stock. None of them knew when or if they would get more. I looked online and no best buy in my area has them (very odd since I live in L.A.). Is there another place to get them for $299? Is this device discontinued? I really don't want to go the ebay route. Thanks in advance!
When the price drop occurred most places sold out without any new inventory .... I don't think they are getting more shipments as they are trying to get rid of all of the accessories ...

Looks like Best Buy and HTC pulled a "Touchpad" at better than salvage pricing. Our Best Buy says they are waiting for deliveries of the new Jetstream model, but I can't see much demand for device that costs $699 and requires a two year contract on AT&T.
No fire sale, they lowered the price to compete with the Kindle Fire. After that they've been selling out quickly. I purchased mines two weeks ago. One store in NYC had them. The following week every store in my area had them.

Bestbuy.com lists it as online only. I don't know if they do a ship to store option.. If so, that will save a few bucks on shipping costs

I lucked out and got the last one in my area.
I got mine about 2.5 weeks ago at the BB here. They only had 3 left. I went back to BB 2 nights ago to get the invisible shield by Zagg ($9.99) and I got the last one.
They still have cases and styluses, though.
The stores in the New Orleans area still had them when I visited over the weekend.
well, 4 out of 10 stores in or near Omaha have them in stock based on the website and they show as backordered otherwise. While I think the 7" is an ideal size for my needs, I think the general market may lean toward the larger screens as a mainstream device and the smaller screens thought of more as book readers.
cheers
BR
Thanks for the input guys. I just left one best buy and they didn't even have the flyer on display anymore. I have a cousin in Texas who is close to a best buy that has stock so I will have him buy it for me. Everything seems to indicate that the flyer is at the end of it's life and I have to wonder if it will be updated to HC or ICS. Nevertheless, I still want to buy one since it is pocketable and allows me to take precise notes.
I picked mine up about 2 weeks ago and i got the very last one. I used to work at the geeksquad in the store and i was talking to the GM and he was saying they sold out really quick after the price drop. He didnt mention anything about it being discontinued though.
The Flyer is not being discontinued, it's just been selling really well.
I had been looking for a flyer for a couple of weeks, checking my best buy every day. All stores close to me had been showing out of stock. Then last weekend I went to the store and they had 1 in the store so I bought it. It was new and unopened so it wasnt a return. I think its just taking a while to full stock. I'm sure the price drop on accessories is because they have too much on the shelf vs the number off flyers in stock.

I just bought mine yesterday. Had to drive to gretna to the bestbuy mobile store to get teh last one, after visiting the 3 stores in/around Metairie and calling the houma store (only one to show inventory online). After calling around I lucked out and the BBM store had 1 that wasn't showing in inventory. There aren't any within a 50 mile radius of new orleans! These things must be selling like hotcakes.
Want to pick one up but wasn't ready to pull the trigger. Only 3 stores have any in inventory. Concerned there will be no back fill and this is my last shot

You may be on your last shot...seems that Adroid device shelf-life is counted in "dog months" - in other words 5 months on the market is nearly 3 years - they definitely are not tied to an annual upgrade cycle.
I am trying to get a quote on my Atrix. It is a month old and barely used. What should be my asking price ?
In absolute perfect condition 200 is going to be the most you get. Sorry if you were expecting more but id suggest you go on craigslist and look for what they are going for any actually 200 may be asking a little much
http://swappa.com/buy/motorola-atrix-4g-att
Depends on your location. In Canada, a Motorola Atrix (unlocked) goes for about $300 but varies from $250-$350 depending on condition and accessories.
You can always try cell4cash or gazelle
such a shame, the phone's specs are just now starting to be challenged by other new releases, and it came out in january. HDMI out, 1Gb ram,1930Mah battery......
you can get more than 200 dont get played
I've had my mint 4 month old Atrix up for sale on XDA and CL, and even at $225 shipped conus it still wont sell. Mint, non rooted and BL locked, all cables and og packaging.
It may just be a bad time of the year to sell.
Sent from my LG-P925 using Tapatalk
Remember prices on these sites are asking prices. Here in Norcal I see CL ads asking above $300 lingering weeks. One ad is asking $450 has been posted for several months.
It's difficult to know but $300 seems about the point where phones actually sell. I bought one for my son for $150, but I am a patient man.
In my opinion none of the new phones are better than the Atrix. The GN has no sdcard and the RAZR battery is not removable. Both are deal killers for me.

I've been watching the web, ebay, craigslist, and tech store's sites for a few weeks now, hoping to score an HTC Flyer at a great price. No luck so far. Was going to use wi-fi only so I don't care about carrier.
But I must be missing something. Best Buy has them for $299 brand new, but they consistently sell for hundreds MORE than that on Ebay. What am I missing?
Depends on your Craigslist locale. Here in NYC, I see them from 225 to 270. The black Sprint versions, Evo View 4g models go a bit higher cause of the built in 3g/4g and 32gb storage. EBay deals have had the Sprint version for $240 on several occasions now, keep looking.

Actually, last few airports I've been through have them in the Best Buy self-serve Kiosks. I haven't stopped to see the price.
Not to rub in any salt, but just picked up a brand new in box Evo View off CList for 250 an hour ago. On the bus on my way home now, can't wait to molest it.

You can get on for $298 here. but I bought it for $239 a few days ago so just keep an eye out. I read that it would be 199 at sprint after x-mas here but I think that is on contact

I just wanted to post this for all of you considering getting a new phone on AT&T, such as the One, S4, Blackberry, etc. According to what I have read, it looks like AT&T is starting a promotion tomorrow that will give an instant $100 or more credit toward a new phone of your choice when you trade in your old working smart phone, ( 3 years old or less). This may help in the decision making process for many people.

I just posted an article on this on our site! LOL It's a pretty good deal!
It will push me back into the store tomorrow. I was in the store today and almost bought one, but I wanted to consider it a little longer and wait until the weekend. I am done thinking about it, lol.
well i already traded in a phone directly through HTC for $100 and its gonna be for a visa prepaid card. plus you have to do this in store and they dont have the 64GB version available at stores. i guess its a good deal for those that missed the cutoff for the HTC deal though.

Cool, so this is retroactive?
I got my One on release day, so still within the 14 days - if I go back to the store, they should credit me, right? I have a Nokia 900 that I would gladly trade in for an easy $100, lol.

An 8525? Wow. That is old. HTC was taking that for a trade in? I wish I would have known. I could have dug mine out of the drawer.
I had the One..exchanged it for the S4 and came back to the One. Anyone that that has the S4, should definitely get the One if you can, while the bootloader is still unlockable
I'd rather go on swappa or any number of other sites and sell my old kit for a lot more than $100 unless it's an old phone. Just about any decent, present day smartphone is worth more than $100. They're just catering to those who either don't know there options or don't want to deal with trying to sell on their own.

You could go pick up a cheap android phone from virgin mobile for $30-50. This would get you $50 off. I'm trying to find out what phones are eligible. I sell my stuff on ebay too, but a free $50 is nice to stick it to at&t

From everything I've been told, it's $100 minimum.
Just wanted to say, bought my One two weeks today and went back to the AT&T store to see if I could get in on this promo. Not a problem at all, traded in an old HTC Inspire 4G and they gave me the $100 credit, which by request, they applied to my bill. What's great is, average selling price on eBay for the Inspire is around $80.

i just told them that i see that you guys have the trade in promotion going that you get 100 dollars for trading in your used phone. i actually read this thread wrong which is why i called inthe first place lol. because i thought they give you 100 dollars on top of what they already give you. the wife traded her iphone 5 and i traded a nexus 4. the rep gave me a 200 dollar credit no questions asked. probably because she can't see on her system exactly what phones we traded in.
