Got my Desire X yesterday and unable to install the software update pushed on phone from HTC (its a brand new phone non-rooted) because stock recovery is damaged (In my country we do not have phone warranty, so unable to send it to HTC for repair). I have stock recovery.img downloaded from another thread. Kindly guide me how to flash this file(recovery.img) to my phone........
Thanks.
Find fastboot binaries.
Boot phone in fastboot mode.
Then use,
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Done
Regards
Yasir
P.S, your boot loader must be unlocked for above.

Hi,
I just rooted my HTC One x+ using RootBoot for Software number 1.14.401.16 and i had completely forgotten that I upgraded to 1.17 today
I lost my signal, wifi isnt working and it was stuck on the HTC logo for a while but its unbricked now. I still have no signal or wifi though.
Does anyone know if there is a new rootboot version?
Cheers

So, you have a recovery installed, either CWM or TWRP? Why do you want to keep the stock ROM?
Use the All in One tool from Hasoon or follow the guide for the original One X that explains how to set up the fastboot folder on your C: drive, then flash one of the above mentioned recoveries for the X+ via fastboot, then flash the boot.img of a ROM you'd like to try, also via fastboot and then flash a custom ROM from recovery. But first make sure that you download a custom ROM.zip and transfer it to your phone as unlocking will have wiped your SD card.
Or you can just root your stock ROM, for that you need the Super User tools, so after unlocking, flash one of the recoveries for the X+ via fastboot, power up phone, copy Super User tools to SD card and flash them in recovery!
Make sure that you understand what you are doing. Reading first is mandatory!

You need to flash the boot.img inside the Rom.zip that you download. Put the whole .zip on your SD card, boot into bootloader, select fastboot, hook up the phone, point to the folder your fastboot files are located and you dropped the boot.img, open a cmd window, and type
cd c:\fastboot and enter, then
fastboot erase cache and enter
fastboot flash boot boot.img and enter
fastboot erase cache and enter
Unplug cable, select hboot/boot recovery, select, then inside recovery install zip from SD card, don't forget to select the wipe option in the aroma installer...
The whole process takes like 20 mins, including download of the ROM, copying the boot.img into the fastboot folder (make sure there is only one boot.img in there...the one you want/need), flashing the boot.img, flashing ROM in recovery and booting up (which takes like a few minutes)
Hope this helps

Just to make sure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34173694 is the CWM recovery for the X+ or use the TWRP recovery found in the Android Original Dev section...and please, use the search button, read, understand and ask if you don't, and then a hit on the thanks button is appreciated

Which ROM did you flash ? I have the same problem and have no luck with decoding HTC stock ROMs.
Please try to flash boot.img from ARHD 6.2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987885
I am in a same problem ase I flash my ARHD 6.2 Rom and after the Oxp_elitekernel_130119, all work but my data connection is not stopped when screen is in sleep mode...
Is Oxp_elitekernel_130119 works fine with ARHD 6.2 ROM ?
So I went to flash the Blackout Rom on my One X+ and forgot to flash the boot.img first. so my phone will not boot up. and when i boot into to flash the boot.img it says Battery too low for Flash. Can anyone help?
I can't even boot into recovery. Can someone please help?
I had this problem yesterday when i got my new phone. Flashed the rom but not the boot.img file. It bootlooped but as it turned off i pressed vol down and power and luckily it booted into the bootloader. If you can get into fastboot, flash the boot.img and then your phone should boot. Worked for me!
Good luck

You need to flash the boot.img from that Rom.
Boot the phone straight into bootloader then go to fastboot mode and flash the new boot.img from your computer.

I have rooted OneX+ and running ARHD for months without any problem
But suddenly it freeze, and restart it by holding power button down for a sew seconds.
And now its stuck on HTC logo.
Please someone help me pleaseeeee!
Note:
1. I relock bootloder
2. Try update it with RUU [error 171 waiting for bootloader]
3. Can't access SDcard
4. Can't go to recovery [try update it but failed]
5. I don't have any backup
Push the latest twrp recovery, format your data partition in recovery and push a stock boot.img to your device then reboot into fast boot mode, then you should be able to run the ruu.
Don't forget to unlock bootloader again before flashing twrp and lock before u flash stock boot.img.
Make sure u have the correct ruu and a decent usb cable for the tranfer preferably the one that came with the device plus at least 50% battery etc.

Hello,
I have a question ... can we root Htc One X+ from FASTBOOT , that is installing the rooting .zip file from the FASTBOOT rather than flashing the zip from CWR or TWRP...
AFAIK no. without S-off we don't have permission to flash unsigned .zips from fastboot.
Although you could build your own pre-rooted kernel and flash that from fastboot....

Well I do have S-OFF on my device (dev phone) .. so in that case is it possible to just flash the zip.. and also by doing this can I permanently harm my device.
Hi Guys ..
I screwed up while flashing the unofficial slim rom on my htc one x. The device was already rooted and on twrp custom recovery.
I forgot to flash boot .img and directly tried flashing the rom , which failed. After that I can't access the previous rom nor recovery. The device only goes into bootloader and if I try to get into recovery I get a black screen . I've tried flashing both cwm and twrp via fastboot but can't get into them.
The device is stuck in the htc screen only . I tried flashing an ruu but it says there is an error due to incorrect ruu id . I guess it will be as my one x is s-on . Is there a way to get to s off via fastboot ?
Any help on getting my phone working again will be very much appreciated . I've attached a screen shot of the boot loader which has some details.
Please help! !
Thanks

So do you have a X or X+ device?
You can't enter recovery anymore? What recovery.img did you use and where did you download it? We need some more detailed information on what you did exactly.
And yes, RUU most probably doesn't work because of incorrect CID (can't change CID without S-OFF) and/or because your HBOOT version is too high (not allowed to downgrad without S-OFF).
I have an x+ device . I used twrp initially and later tried flashing both twrp and cwm via fastboot.
I can't enter recovery anymore . All I get when I select recovery from the boot loader screen is a black screen .
So now I need to flash a rom via fastboot only .. As I can't access recovery. Is there any other recovery image that I can try ?
Also is there any other option besides an ruu at this point?
Thanks

Try "fastboot erase cache" before and after flashing recovery again. Also make sure you've got the right recovery.img for HOX+.

We can't mount internal memory while in recovery. You need to use "adb push rom.zip /data/media/0" when in recovery or "adb sideload rom.zip" (you must enter sideload mode in recovery first).
