Anyone had any luck setting up icloud imap email in the htc sense mail app? I'm able to receive email, but can't send email at all.
I'm using imap.mail.me.com for a server, and using smtp.mail.me.com.

If you are using Hotmail and not Gmail on your google- powered phone you're doing it wrong.

Even I'm waiting for an app....microsoft has live messenger for iOS...want something similar...also something like mbox hotmail which was for iOS as well...I mainly use Google account (my primary), but I still use hotmail....

just configure gmail (on the webpage) to retrieve hotmail and be done with it.
K-9 email app, love it!
I need to sync my school e mail to the atrix. Will k9 works for me?

Geez guys he asked for a Hotmail solution not Gmail.
Microsoft Hotmail now supports Activesync/Exchange. All your contacts, calendar and email flows down.
Select Corporate email setup.
Username is your full email address.
Server is. m.hotmail.com
Domain blank.
Set update to whatever you want from Push to hours.
Btw, I am a huge advocate of Enhanced Email.

After flashing Eclipse v0.5, I cannot figure out how to add Hotmail in the accounts section. There is not a choice to add it as in previous versions and I can't find a manual way to do it......Anyone know how to do it?
I Don't Think AOSP Roms Support Hotmail. I've Never Seen It Anyway.
Open up the email app and type in your email address and password.

Sweet!!!!! This thing is flying!!

Best way to add hotmail is to add corporate, full email as user with no domain. Server is m.hotmail.com. should work on any device with activesync.
My skyrocket has it as a option if your email account supports it. Its not a option on my gn with the same email accounts. Anybody else run into this.

i have push on my exchange account if thats what you mean
Hmm that's odd. I can set push for peak and non-peak. Are you sure you at it up as a corp account with Exchange ActiveSync?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I mean like gmail, yahoo, me.com, all have push. I had that option on my skyrocket for these accounts. Heck i had that on my iphone with them. But that is not on my note.
Use the Gamil app for Gmail. It has push built-in and not configurable. Yahoo really doesn't have a push server. You can also setup Hotmail to use Push if you know how ro configure. As others has posted Exchange ActiveSync works.
Sounds like you made the same mistake I did. I let the app auto configure the account for me, which didn't configure push. Delete the account and remake it using manual settings with these following settings.
Email address: [email protected]
Password: Gmail password
Domain/User Name: google\[email protected]
Exchange server: m.google.com
Hope this helps.

Thanks T3, I did let it auto setup. Funny thing is I did the same thing on the skyrocket and it was an option for it. I installed the Visual Voice mail apk to have it. Wonder if I could get the email apk from a skyrocket. Dont understand why they would be different.

*June 15 Update*
Update 4 Changes:
Change log on page 62 / #616
-------------------------------------------
*For now please try to just download once each. I'm not sure if Google Drive will put a hold on it if too many people download.
*No need to add an apn if you are on AT&T. It will be there already when you boot up. If for some reason you need to add the apn, use APN #1 below.
*It can be flashed in a rom slot, but I recommend flashing in the stock slot.
Download:
ATT S5 Port Update 4
Mirror
ATT S5 Port Update 2
Mirror
ATT S5 Port Update 1
Mirror
ATT S5 Port
Mirror
Instructions:
-Boot into SafeStrap
-Backup current rom
-Wipe data, cache, dalvik, and system (I press the advanced tab and wipe everything in there except microsd x2, then I go back and do the factory reset x2)
-Flash rom in the stock slot
-Reboot System
-Read and follow the first asterisk at the top of this post to get Multiwindow and Pen Window working correctly.
Not Working:
-There are some wake locks. It's kernel based. We can't flash kernels with SS so this is something we have to put up with for now.
Use this apn:
Network Mode: LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)

I think you should've posted this on the Android Development thread

I just ported it over. I didn't really develop anything.
Upload is taking longer than I thought. My internet is messed up tonight for some reason.
Dumb question. Is this going to work on JB or KK?
from my 3rd note...!
You need to be on a KK rom with the KK safestrap.
I'm sorry guys my internet isn't working right tonight. I will try to upload it again in the morning before I go to class.
Still trying to upload it guys. I probably shouldn't have made the post so soon. It says an hour left but my internet has been so inconsistent since last night. I think there is a problem with Time Warner in my area. I am trying..
Gonna call TW at lunch.

While this is a port, it still belongs in the development section. Please ask a MOD to move it.

Lol sorry I didn't think I was special enough.
I think I came across a bug. If I make a call, and then try to send a text after, it takes forever to send. Sometimes it won't send at all and sometimes it will send but I can't receive any until I reboot. I can't change the default messaging app either. Nothing happens when I try to switch to hangouts or messages.
I've moved this to Android Development but encourage you to get the blessing of the original dev (if you haven't already)
Good luck on this project!

Google drive has, I think, 5Gb free. Mega has 50GB. Android file host...etc. all these are good sites. Just create an account and you're good to go.
