Hiya all, I have an xPeria Mini Pro SK17i (Mango) on GIngerbread, rooted (don't know if the fact that I must be on debug usb on to use rooted functions means something) and LOCKED bootloader.
I installed a custom rom from the clockwork recovery, then I rebooted the device.
Now it shows, "Sony ericsson", and then a black screen. I can't even access the recovery.
I tried to flash back a system.img from fastboot, but I can't, it says "device must be rooted" (it's because i left debug mode off before the bricking?)
I can't neither use adb commands because it is not on debug mode.
What can I do to restore it to a previous state or solve this situation?
Thanks in advance.
Download stock ROM in .ftf file and use flashtool OR use SUS OR PC Companion (repair option).
P.S. You should search forum for solution, cause there was plenty of similar topics.

You can't flash your phone via fastboot with LOCKED bootloader, thats obvious. Just use Sony PC Companion to repair your phone or manually install a stock ftf file.

Im geting a bootloop, and even flashing any ftf file (i tried 5) the phone keep stuck in a bootloop :SSSS
any sugestions?
You said that your phone has a LOCKED BOOTLOADER. Use PC Companion or Sony Update Service to install the stock firmware for your phone. Use PCC or SUS not flashtool.

PCC or SUS doesn't need your phone to be rooted or in USB debugging mode to reinstall the stock firmware. It only wants your phone to be in Locked Bootloader.

After runnin the exe file i click on identify and connect my X10 via usb while pressing the back key but nothin happens .. Nothing at all ?!
What am i doing wrong
Not even able to downgrade kernel using flashtool.. i run flashtool and connect my phone by turning it off and holding the back button and connecting the usb wire but nothing happens !!!
There is no need to downrade the kernel.
1. download and install pccompanion
2. If you ar enot already on stock rom with stock kernel, then use pccompanion to repair back to stock. (If you are on a custom rom and stock kernel, ten that is ok as well.)
3. Download and install latest flashtool (V0.5.3.0)
4. Goto driver folder in flashtool folder and run ggsetup.exe
5.Atach phone to Computer and run flashtool, wait for computer to see the phone.
6. press the padlock icon to root it, follow instructions.
7. press plugins/unlock/run, follow instructions
8. flash the unlocked kernel of your choice in flashtool,
9. flash the unlocked romof your choice in xrecovery
10. flash any required wifi modules if you need them.
any problems, just PM me.
Can you please elaborate these:
8. flash the unlocked kernel of your choice in flashtool,
Where to get the kernel? What choices do i have? How do i select one?
9. flash the unlocked romof your choice in xrecovery
Same questions as for the kernel, How to flash using xrecovery?
10. flash any required wifi modules if you need them.
Whats a wifi module and why would i need one and where to get it from?
Ive done uptill step 7... Still havent got unlocked bootloader i think cuz i still see SE logo when i start phone

Follow the [wifi issues and ulbl] link in my signature, this will put you on latest wolf rom and latest doomkernel.
The links are all in there. Get latest wolf rom from his thread (V7b6)
If oyu want another rom follow the instructions from that OP.
But basically you need to do this.
1. unlock bootloader (Steps 1-7 in my previous post) Check to see if its unlocked by trying to unlock it again...(What did it say last time when you finished trying to unlock)
2. download doomkernel and wifi modules from the doomkernel for unlocked bootloader thread.
3. Flash the kernel in flashtool. (run flashtool, click on the lightening icon, navigate to where you saved the kernel, click ok, and follow instructions)
4. Reboot in xrecovery and flash the rom
5. reboot into cmw5 and flash the wifi modules (Instead of pressing back button, press the menu button, cmw5 recovery is just another recovery)
reboot, enjoy.

Here is the tutorial for Installing stock 4.0.2.A.0.62 ROM plus root and CWM. I am not responsible or anyone mentioned below for bricking your phone in case, tested on my Xperia ray with unlocked bootloader using S1 tool.
Requirements
Unlocked Bootloader (preferred) although there is a work around for locked bootloader
4.0.2.A.0.62 FTF files
Flashtool
recoveryRay.img by and Rootxperia.zip b1n4ry (for rooting)
CWM
Installation:
How to Install stock 4.0.2.A.0.62 ROM:
Download this stock 4.0.2.A.0.62 ROM. Thank you Aire for providing the link.
After download you will have a zip file. Extract it.
Download flashtool here and extract it.
Create FTF file using flashtool from the 4.0.2.A.0.62 ROM zip you extracted earlier. Now if you don't know how to create FTF files, there's a good tutorial here.
If you successfully created FTF file, you should see a file with extension “.ftf” in the “firmwares” folder inside “FlashTool” folder
Run the executable “X10FlashTool.exe” located in the FlashTool folder
Now click “Flash” button and select flashboot. Now select the firmware from the popup menu. Make sure “Wipe user data” box is checked and then click “OK”.
The application will ask you to put your Ray in flashboot mode, to do this turn off the phone, hold the volume down button while while connecting the USB cable to your computer.
Follow the on screen instruction and your device will reboot. Notice that the reboot process will take longer at first.
How to install Root
Please note that this is only applied to devices with unlocked bootloader. Alternately, you can just install a custom kernel and root using zergrush method but if you want to try the .62 kernel from this stock rom then do this.
Download rootxperia.zip here and place it in your sd card
Enter device in fastboot mode. Turn off phone, hold volume up while you connect the USB cable to computer
Download the recoverRAY.img provided below, you will get a zip file, extract it.
Open folder inside Flashtool where fastboot.exe exists (/FlashTool/x10flasher_lib)
Place the recoveryRAy.img inside the folder
Open command line in this folder
Test if it recognize your device, to do this type fastboot devices, if there is a result here proceed.
Now here's the tricky part, to enter a temporary recovery type fastboot boot recoveryRAY.img
*Notice that we didn't use fastboot flash boot ****.img here because as bin4ry said this recovery is designed to work just as recovery, if you flash it to your device it will NOT boot system anymore! This is just a temporary recovery for you so be careful not to flash it.
Now wait and your phone will reboot, you will see the FREE XPERIA splash screen and your device will now enter temp CWM recovery
On your phone choose install custom zip, locate the rootxperia.zip you added earlier in your SD card and flash it.
Reboot, your device is now rooted.
*to root your device with locked bootloader, they say you can install previous stock kernel and root using zergrush method.
How to install CWM
Download this then extract
Make sure you enabled USB debugging, and also you need to set Screen timeout to 10 minutes so you don't miss the superuser promt
Run install-cwm1.cmd from the folder
Follow screen on screen instruction, reboot.

The firmware is provided by Aire, however if you encounter ftf generic firmware, it will be nice if you post it here.

If your bootloader is still locked you can not root your device using that method. The only work around is to install previous kernel and root using zergrush method.

In fact I had rooted my Ray earlier 4.0.2.A.0.42ver using the zergrush method using DooMLoRD_v4_Root Which I lost when I upgraded to 4.0.2.A.0.62ver. Now DooMLoRD_v4_Root won't work with 4.0.2.A.0.62ver update.

What do I have to do now? Please help.

Indeed .62 is the latest built which include alot of improvements specially on batter issue.
If you don't want custom rom and kernel and is contented with the stock ROM and kernel then you don't need to unlock your bootloader.

2. NeoV.4.0.2.A.0.62.ftf .........(GB)
3. MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_Nordic_1253-1755.ftf ......(ICS)
4. CMW recovery image to boot into CMW recovery.
5. Backup made with CMW with ICS version.

Regarding this problem, first you said you flashed GB and now you say you got error, how is that?
For flashing ICS .ftf use latest flashtool and tick no final data verification option, or something like that.
If you have problem flashing GB .ftf, using latest flashtool, then use some older version.
I meant that after bricking my phone, i just tried to re-flash GB or ICS to unbrick, and now flashing does not occur successfully but ends with error.

Read what I wrote above.
And give us a bit more info.
What flashtool version are u using, what OS are u using. What error do you get,log file.
Tried downloading older version of flashtool?
extract kernel.sin file from MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_Nordic_1253-1755.ftf
connect phone with fastboot mode to pc
then you have to run fastboot.exe from FlashTool\x10flasher_lib\fastboot.exe
flash kernel.sin via this command
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
Good news
I managed to reinstall android ICS, before that i tried Wostan X tool Unlock, upto the point where it showed that you have not enough credits. then i retried Flashtool and got ICS installed. now phone runs ICS successfully.
Now a new problem arrived...... Now I cannot connect phone in fast boot mode...... also my adb drivers are gone...... Please help
First you said you have unlocked BL, and now you tried to use wotan tool for unlock, why?
How did you unlock your bootloader?
And regard your driver problem, install drivers from flashtool folder.
And no need to write with that over sized colored text.
I have unlocked bootloader 2 months ago using sony bootloader unlock service...
one other problem I have not mentioned earlier is that phone does not detect SIM card, i have tried 3 other SIM cards also
also by opening service menu in *#*#7378423#*#* --> configuration --> Bootloader unlock allowed: No . earlier it shows yes as i have unlocked it before.
That unlockx is a nasty bit of software, if you try to unlock without credits, it cripples your phone trying to force a sale.
Download s1tool use the restore button, this will fix the sim issue. Then unlock via the Sony method as you used originally.

You have to install the zeus drivers, and touch the testpoint, it should detect it as Zeus flash device, then use restore.

flash stock ICS ftf via flashtool - will work 100%.
boot in system once.
?maybe install custom kernel with CWM included (i think MIUI even need it)

you are correct. Need Fastboot to flash custom kerenel... ,Cannot go into Fastboot mode without unlocked bootloader.
as title says, it was all going fine till i flashed a zip that 'contains camera app from motorola portable zip...' and my phone is now stuck at sony logo. i was using it with twrp recovery by bigrammy. now i am stuck at the middle of nowhere cause my phone is rooted and have custom kernel so flashtool cant relock bootloader. And this is why pc companion wont repair the phone..
Please help me ASAP... what should i do ?

Just try boot to recovery using the buttons and restore your TWRP backup (I assume you did do a backup at some point)
