Anyone having troubles with the usb plug going into the phone? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondering if anyone is having troubles with the USB/charging port or the usb cord that came with their nexus 4. If so, is this a manufacturer defect? Cause it just randomly started acting up. I have had this problem before with some phones. Such as the HTC sensation 4g as well as the xperia x10 and the xperia play

Hi everyone, I have a problem with the usb port on my x10 and I can't charge it whith a cable. I was just wondering if this is a common problem with these type of phones and if SE will repair it for free even if I don't have the proof of purchase?

Weak Micro USB port

My 3vo's micro USB is giving me problems charging. Im a former owner of the EVO 4g and never had a problem with it. I got a my 3vo from the early premier sales online. Let's hope this is not a common thing.

I hope not too haf two evo4g that port when bad. I hoped being on side on 3vo that was one reason it was moved beside battery.
This "weak micro USB port" issue would be what...? "You said it was "giving me problems charging"...what kinds of problems?
The micro USB cable that came with the Evo 3D doesn't even fit into my phone.
I'm currently using the old evo 4g cable.
I had issues with USB ports a lot on the OG Evo...Sprint tried telling me it was my fault a couple times even though it was a known issue...Telling me I had to go through insurance...
Anyway...On the 3vo I find that my Best Buy chargers have trouble working....My OEM charger is fine...

The port was only charging when it was untouched and in a specific position. It would flash from charging to connect charger as I adjusted cable to the sweet spot. Now it won't charge at all no matter how I set the cable into it. The cable has enough play to rock in all directions. My battery is almost done and this might be my last post until I have my 3vo replaced tomorrow.

Bad charging port
I had a bad one on my OG EVO. Looks like I have the same on my 3d. Need to block out a day to be without phone, unroot etc to bring to sprint.
I have the same issue but only with HTC cables. I have a generic one I use at work that works perfect. My wifes og evo cable gives me the same problem. I can't tell if its the cables or my phone. I think cables though because the generic one I have works fine.

Charger Cord

Hi guys!
I seem to be having a problem with charging my phone recently and was wondering if I was alone in the issue
My charger cable seems to be very funny on the phone end. Sometimes if I wiggle it it'll charge or connect to my PC, but other times its just useless and won't connect.
Is anyone else having problems with it?
Is it more likely to be the cable or the phone?
I don't really want to shell out for another one of these though, as a budget phone its been great.
But seeings as I'll be starting work very soon I'll soon be working my way towards a Galaxy nexus or similar. So I would just get by on a cheaper phone if ya see what I mean?
Please reply :3

Try another cord bro.
Probably its cord problem

It's definitely the cord
Well, come to think about it, I have been charging it every night for the past year (literally). So inserting it that many times is definitely going to have some effect. Cheers for the suggestions guys

Problem with charging cable

I have a problem with the HTC original charging cable. If I bend it even a little the phone stops charging. Has anyone else got that problem, and is there ANY fix to it or should I buy a new cable. The bending issue gets bigger n bigger every day :S

Yeah....

Usb port interfering with signal.

Hello guys i recently bought a gt-i9100 and i noticed that when i connect the charger on the usb port network signal gets weaker... The weirdest thing is that when i connect a usb otg cable (which works fine btw) i have no signal reception at all...any ideas what's the problem?

This happens sometimes when the usb port isn't properly replaced. This is a hardware issue so try to fix it yourself or get the phone to a repair shop.
Thank you for your reply....I found out that the "faulty" part is pretty simple to be replaced so i decided to give it a try...well i looked it up and it seems that there're a lot of revisions of that pcb...Do you know which one should i buy??does it really matter??
