Help! problem loading Roms - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Not sure if this has been answered, but I have been searching and cannot find an answer.
I'm S-Off with Dirty Racun, have been flashing Roms for the past year, no problems, backing up and restoring Roms with no problem. Recently was using the latest Hatka LTE but wanted to restore to an earlier version. Didn't work. Did a super wipe and tried to install clean. Didn't work.
Have been messing with this all day and am stuck. At first it was saying that it could not mount the /sdcard. I thought maybe the internal sdcard was corrupt, so I formatted the internal sdcard. Didn't help.
Anyways, yes, I can get into bootloader and I can get into TWRP.
Yes, I have tried other versions of TWRP. All my backups were created under 2.4.1, have tried 2.4.4 and 2.5 to restore, no success.
In TWRP 2.4.1:
It will say:
Restoring 4 partitions...
Wiping System...
Formatting System using mke2fs...
Done.
Restoring system...
E:Unable to extract tar archive '/sdcard2/TWRP/BACKUPS/HT2324......
Wiping Cache..
Formatting Cache using mke2fs...
Done.
Restoring cache...
[cache done]
Restoring boot...
[boot done]
Updating partition details....
E:Unable to unmount '/system'
Also, not sure if this is related, but when I do Factory Reset under the Wipe section, it will only show that it is formatting cache, formatting data, and wiping .android_secure. It used to say formatting system, but now doesn't mention it?
Also, immediately after it says unable to mount /system, if I try to wipe system, it will give me a fail, unable to unmount /system
Basically, I'm stuck at TWRP and bootloader.
Also, when I try to install a ROM, any ROM, it will die - for example MeanBean 3.09, it will say:
Formatting and Mounting Partition...
Clearing cache and dalvik...
Installing /system....
Installing /data...
symlink: some symlinks failed
E: Error in /sdcard2/MeanBean-v309-jewel-ltevo.zip (Status 7)
Please help! What can I do to restore it back to the way it was so that I can at least get a working ROM on my phone?
Thanks!

Also, if it will help, I am HBoot 1.19.22222
Radio 1.12.11.1210
OpenDSP-v31.1.0.45.0815
Thanks for any help in advance!! Really need this phone to boot into something working.

sorry for the replies to myself, but as an update, now even after rebooting into recovery, I can't even wipe - the first thing that happens after I reboot into recovery is I see
E: Unable to mount '/sdcard'
E:Unable to recreate android secure folder.
E:Unable to mount '/sdcard', which repeats itself a couple of times
then Running boot script...
Finished running boot script...
This happens before I press a single button in recovery (TWRP 2.4.1), I mean it happens immediately as it is booting into recovery

I had the same issue and ended up using three different versions of TWRP, but if you go to the TWRP thread, captain just posted his version of recovery that he built from source and he fixed some of the issues with the android secure and changed some of the wipes, check it out and reformat using rm rf, works better for me it's in the advanced options...

[Q] Ater Odin, No storage

It all started today when I rooted my stock 2.2 and installed Voodoo.
After I installed Voodoo, my phone wouldn't boot. So I Odin'ed a stock ROM.
The Problem is, I have no internal/external storage on the phone at all!
I've tried flashing milliions of times, but no dice. Anyone know how to fix this?
EDIT:
There was a time where it showed my internal storage and I used the File manager to go in and erase the Voodoo folder and stuff. But still nothing. And everytime I check the "Re-partition" option in Odin, I get an says that Data wipe failed. I'm really stuck here guys!
EDIT2:
Now it says:
"update media, please wait
E:Can't mount /dev/block/stl10
(Invalid argument)
E:copy_dbate_media:Can't mount DBDATA:
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions"
If I selsect "format internal sd-card" I get the same error.
boot into recovery, clear cache, do a reset and then clear dalvik the reflash 2.1JFD make sure to check repartition box, after it is done then root and then flash a custom rom of your choice

If I'm not mistaken, CWM is the only one with that option. I don't have CWM installed.
AWESOME!
Seems to have worked... I got all my storage space back.
Only problem I have is, low application storage.

[Q] Wipe data error (E:format volume failed on dev/block/mmcblk1p2)

- I follow the instruction in this thread "Repartition media and data partitions on Nook Tablet"
-Then, i boot in CWM recovery, install rom from zip file, this rom
-When it done, i choose Wipe data/factory resest, it show:
Wiping data...
formatting /data...
formatting /cache...
formatting /sd-ext...
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p2
formatting /sdcard/ .android_secure...
data wipe complete
-then I reboot system, NT always boot in CWM (with or without SD card)
-cause everything seem normal, but this line: E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p2, do I have any chance to fix it?
Thanks all!
It is normal don't worry we all have and it doesn't harm your device
~ Veronica

I am having the same issue and cannot get my nook to get beyond the CWM screen. The question: Has a solution to this been identified?
Thanks.
When you boot into recovery try wiping data to factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache. Then install the ROM from the SD card afterwards.

Unable to Mount Internal Storage

Hello all,
I have run in to some issues with my phone today, and have spent several hours trying out different things, and reading through the forums.
My phone is unlocked, s-on, and have had no problem loading multiple different ROMs in the past. The most recent ROM I was using was Carbon 1.7. It had been working well for the most part, periodically the phone would restart itself, but I didn't really consider that an issue.
Today though, I was taking a photo with the phone, and it restarted itself. Upon the restart, it became stuck at the HTC boot logo. Once I got home I investigated it some more, and figured I'd try and just wipe the cache/dalvik, and this is where I came to realize I might be in a big mess than originally thought.
I'm not able to wipe the cache, dalvik, system, or anything. I try to flash a ROM, and it seems to work, and since i'm S-On, I try to load the boot image with Hasoon's All in One Kit, but still stuck at the boot logo. I try to do a full wipe from within the ROM when install, and also tried a full wipe with Super Wipe, but no luck.
This is what I'm seeing (I've tried using TWRP, CWM, EXT, and all come up with something similar):
E: Unable to mount '/cache'
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to mount '/system'
E: Unable to mount '/devlog'
E: Unable to mount '/emmc'
E: Unable to mount '/emmc'
E: Unable to mount internal storage
I've racked my brain as much as I possibly can. I consider myself a noob when it comes to most of this stuff still, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much
I recently sold my amaze to a coworker and over the weekend if started doing the same thing i spent all night trying to figure it out... I did a full wipe except sd and it wouldn't recognize the sd card. It was running cm10.1

S-Off your amaze. Then apply a stock RUU. I had to downgrade to GB to recover my phone. Android 4.1.x and 4.2.x roms tend to have this bug of partition corruption with our phones.
Fix internal storage error
If you wipe or factory reset it from the bootloader, it may kill the internal storage partition. Just connect USB, go into recovery, unmount and remount USB storage, it will recognize the internal storage and say its unformatted. Then format it as fat32. Then you can do a wipe and reimage. Thanks to OM4 from XDA for posting this. Worked for me!!

[Q] Please help!

I apparently did a very dumb thing by trying to flash PatchedMonkey through Flash Image GUI on my rooted s-on Evo LTE. Now it is stuck in permanent bootloops and I have to boot into recovery just to get it to stay off. I have tried flashing ROMs like SuperJelly and Sharkie ROM s-on and nothing has helped. I have also tried flashing komodo s-on and that didn't work either. Finally, on my Mac, I have tried to fastboot an RUU but I don't think it's worked because when I was last on a working ROM (CM10.1 7/24 nightly) I unchecked USB debugging. So does anyone have any other ideas as to how I might get this thing working again? Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:
If you have a backup-and you should-restore it from recovery. Take a look at the link in my sig-it has some useful information in it that may be beneficial to you. If you don't have a backup to restore, try flashing the latest version of MeanBean. Make sure you follow the instructions in the OP so that you flash it correctly so that the kernel gets installed. Also, keep in mind that the Patch Monkey kernel is a 3.4 kernel, whereas Komodo is a 3.0 kernel, and they aren't interchangeable with one another.

I did have a backup and tried to restore it but it did not work. I don't think the kernel from the backup restores when you are s-on. I am going to try to download mean bean and see if that works. My backup got wiped though when I tried to factory reset so I can't try it again. Looks like I'm SOL. Anyone know how much they charge to replace a "lost" Evo LTE?

$150 through Asurion. Just flash MeanBean & be done with it. Even if you were to get a replacement (and I don't recommend going about it the way you are suggesting), you'd have a phone that's unrooted & S-on, so you'd be back at square one.

Tried to flash MeanBean and it went into boot loops. I let it reboot into the HTC splash screen about 5 or 6 times just to make sure but it looks like a no go . I'll send you that PM now.

It sounds like the kernel didn't install, or you didn't wipe properly in recovery prior to flashing. Make sure you read the instructions in the MeanBean thread regarding flashing while S-on. I believe you have to flash the ROM twice, but read the instructions to be sure.

It mentions using TWRP 2.4.1.0 but I'm not sure how to downgrade to that. I'm wiping Dalvik Cache, Cache, Data and System twice before every flash. I don't see an option to factory reset that is mentioned in the thread in TWRP 2.5.0.0 that I'm using.

Go to the Advanced Wipe option, and check Dalvik cache, cache, system and data, then wipe. No need to downgrade.
Make sure you read the instructions for S-on ROM installation. Mike's instructions say to flash the ROM zip, and once you see the words "Look!" appear, go to the reboot menu and choose to reboot the system. The ROM will initially boot, then reboot to recovery. Flash the ROM zip again, then reboot the system. You should be good to go then.
Ok that's exactly what I've been doing. Those are the 4 things that I listed that I wipe every time I flash but I shall try it again
This is what it said after I checked Dalvik cache, cache, system and data and wiped: Formatting Cache using mke2fs... Done. Formatting Data using mke2fs... Done. Formatting System using mke2fs.... Done. Updating partition details..... E:Unable to mout '/sdcard' E:Unable to mout '/sdcard' E:Unable to mout '/sdcard' E:Unable to mount internal storage.
When I finally flash everything seems to go well with what it says until the end where I get: E:Unable to mout '/sdcard' E:Unable to mout '/sdcard' E:Unable to mout '/sdcard'
And finally I'm back into the bootloops that I've been trying so desperately to escape

Okay. Put a copy of MeanBean on your computer, then plug your phone up to your computer. You can mount USB storage via recovery. You can then format your internal storage. Remember it's formatted FAT32.
